What Is Regal Orb?

Regal Orbs are classified as a rare Path of Exile currency item. They are relatively valuable due to their ability to transform magic items into potentially powerful rare items. Regal Orbs are an essential part of the item crafting process in PoE. Players often use them to attempt to create high-value rare items with desirable affixes.

How To Farm Regal Orb?

Running high-level maps: High-level maps are more likely to drop valuable currency items, such as Regal Orbs. You can increase your chances of getting a Regal Orb by running maps with high item quantity and rarity modifiers. Bosses can also drop valuable currency items, including Regal Orbs. You can increase your chances of getting a Regal Orb by killing bosses in high-level maps or by running special events that involve killing bosses. There are a few vendor recipes that can be used to get Regal Orbs. One recipe requires you to vendor a full set of unidentified rare items of item level 75 or higher. Another recipe requires you to vendor a full set of unidentified rare items of item level 75 or higher that have 20% quality. You can also trade for Regal Orbs with other players. This is the fastest way to get Regal Orbs, but it can also be the most expensive

How Many Chaos Orbs Is A Regal Orb?

The standard baseline historical exchange rate is 2 Chaos Orbs for 1 Regal Orb. This has been the norm for many leagues. However, the exact rate can fluctuate slightly depending on market conditions, time in a league, and availability of both currency types. Very early in a new league when Chaos Orbs are more scarce, the rate may be higher like 2.5:1 or even 3:1 Chaos to Regal. Later in leagues as more Chaos Orbs become available from trades, the rate will often stabilize back to the baseline 2:1. In permanent Standard trade leagues, the sustained high availability of both currencies keeps it pegged more firmly at 2 Chaos Orbs for every 1 Regal Orb. Top end traders may offer or ask for a rate like 1.9:1 if buying/selling in very large bulk quantities.

Any Specific League Mechanics That Have A Higher Chance Of Dropping Regal Orbs?

Any league mechanics that significantly increase mob densities, map quant/packsize, or incorporate dedicated boss/magic find rewards tend to favor Regal Orb drops the most.

Heist Blueprints/Contracts - Completing high tier blueprints and grand heists from the Rogue Harbor often include Regal Orbs as rewards. 

Delve Bosses/Chests - Killing Delve bosses or opening fossil/currency chests deeper in the mine can drop Regals. 

Breachstones/Blighted Maps - Running these dedicated map fragments/devices awards currency like Regals upon completion. 

Delirium Mirrors - Sustaining high tiers of rewards in Simulacrums or Delirium flows on maps favors Regal Orb drops. 

Metamorph Bosses - Completing 4-slot Metamorphs, especially in high tier maps, is a good source of Regals. 

Legion Monoliths - Sustained 5-way emblem grinds or juiced monoliths in maps create extra currency drops like Regals.

The top Delve bosses that typically have a higher chance to drop Regal Orbs include:

• Kurgal, The Black Maw (Depth 300) - As one of the earliest dedicated bosses, he has a decent Regal drop rate.

• Vaal Outpost Bosses (Depth 260+) - Vaal Constructs, Aurumvorax, etc. have good currency rewards including Regals.

• Aul, the Crystal King (Depth 300+) - The signature Delve boss frequently drops multiple higher currencies like Regals.

• Members of The Formed (Depth 400+) - Enraged Runic Devourer, Frigid Impostor bosses drop nice loot.

• The Eye of the Universe (Depth 500) - This guardian has high chance for valuable currency like Regals.

• The Infinite Hunger (Depth 600+) - Delve's final boss is a reliable source of top currencies.

In general, as boss depth increases their inherent quant/rarity grows. So deeper unique Delve bosses from 300+ depths usually reward Regals more often on average compared to earlier bosses. Target farming them optimizes Regal Orb income from Delve.

Tips For Using Regal Orb

Understand the Item Base: Before using a Regal Orb, make sure the base item you're working with is worth the investment. Look for items with high item level (ILvl) because higher ILvl items can potentially roll stronger affixes. Regal Orbs are typically used on magic (blue) items to turn them into rare (yellow) items. Be sure to identify a magic item that already has desirable affixes before using a Regal Orb on it. Quality on an item can slightly increase the chances of rolling better affixes. Consider using a Blacksmith's Whetstone or Armourer's Scrap to improve the quality of the item before using a Regal Orb if the item allows it (weapons and armor, respectively).

Think about what you need for your character build and prioritize affixes that complement your playstyle. For example, if you're playing a spellcaster, look for items with spell damage, cast speed, or mana-related modifiers. A well-rounded item should provide a balance between offense and defense.
