Season of Discovery is almost here and we are going to put together a guide with a lot of different mistakes you should avoid doing, but also things that will be quite important to do to save time and level more efficiently. Check this Classic WoW SoD preparation guide and learn things to do to prepare for Season of Discovery WoW.

WoW Season of Discovery Launch Preparation - Things to do During SoD Classic WoW

The launch of Season of Discovery (SoD) in Classic WoW is bringing with it a new season of PvP, fresh raid content, and upgrades & changes. It's an exciting time for WoW players, and also a valuable opportunity to plan and prepare your character ahead of the season launch. In this guide, we'll go over the top things you should focus on doing in the lead up to SoD to maximize your character's potential and hit the ground running when the new season begins.

1. Group of Kill Quest

As you're probably aware of, then there will be a lot of competition in the different starting areas, but also starting zones. So what to do whenever we pick up a slay quest is to invite other nearby players. That way, we get to complete this a lot quicker, so we can also move on to the next step. And when you do something like this, you will all of the sudden also be ahead of the competition or well ahead of many people that won't be able to do the same quest. Therefore, you will all of the sudden also be leveling a lot quicker. And remember to use your instant spells or range abilities, for example, throw to make sure you also have a higher chance of tagging the different creatures.

2. Hearthstone Tip

A big mistake is to use your heartstone in the starting area, you might save a minute of walking, but the thing is it is also a 1-hour cool down. And finishing the starting area will definitely not take an hour, so it's going to be way better to keep this for the next questing hub. When you do something like this, you will end up saving so much time, because the quest you will pick up there will tell you to run for more than 5 minutes just to get to some of the questing areas. And when you' have then completed it, you don't want to spend another 5 minutes to run back.

3. Auto Loot

Whenever you log into your character for the first time, there's also a high chance that your auto loot is not enabled. To fix this, go to option controls and enable auto loot. And the next time you kill something, you just right click on the corpse and you will loot everything immediately.

4. Avoid These Quests

Pretty much every single race in the game has a quest where either need to obtain many different items on the ground or interact with many of the same impasses. These quests can be quite time consuming and it's better to skip them and instead just focus on killing other things or simply doing another quest.

- Scavenging Deatheknell: This is where you need to loot 6 goods, the respawn time is usually between 3 to 5 minutes for each of these. We know when there's going to be a lot of people the respawn time will be quicker, but there doesn't spawn many of these and when there's many people, it will probably also be next to impossible to complete unless you spend 30 minutes. And the experience you get from this is next to nothing and there's no followup quest.

- A Refuge’s Quandary: In the Gnome and Dwarf starting area, you can pick up this one that will tell you to acquire 3 different items from the ground. This is not that difficult to do and they have also fixed the respawn time. So now it's less than 10 seconds. But the thing is that at the fresh launch day there will also be many people trying to do this quest. So even though the respawn time is fast then whenever someone pick it up, there might also be a couple of new players getting to this location to pick up one more, and then you could end up spending many minutes. On top of this, the amount of experience you gain is not that high and there's also no followup for this one.

- Iverron’s Antidote: Skip this quest, it will tell you to loot so many different things. For example, 7 mushrooms, and the respawn time isn’t fun. So instead, you should just kill 10 enemies and you'll get about the same amount of experience as the quest.

- Milly’s Harvest: Same goes for humans, and when you get the quest Millis Harvest you should just abandon this right away and do something else instead of looting 8 crates.

5. Quick Level 1-25

This is a leveling add-on that is custom made for every single class in the game and also for both factions. So when you log into a new character, it will also know what class you're playing and guide you in the right direction to level the most efficient way. So in other words, it will guide you to 25 as fast as possible and all you need to do is just to follow the different steps. On your way to 25, it will also tell you important question to do in different dungeons to obtain amazing items. And later on there will also be an update that will tell you what runes you need to together as you're leveling up.

6. Quest Reward Trick

As you're leveling up, you can choose a lot of different rewards from the quest you complete. Always go with the one with the most armor in the beginning, so you also reduce the damage you take. And that way, you will be able to continue fighting for a lot longer before you will have to reach in health. However, as you get to level 10 or higher, the amount of silver you can get for the items is going to be a lot different. Therefore, at some point, if you don't need any of the rewards, you should always go with the one that wiers for the most so you can get more silver for new spells.

7. WoW SoD Gold Making Trick

Use an addon called vendor price, this will also indicate the amount of silver or copper or even gold you can get for specific items in your bags. So if your inventory is all of the sudden full, then you also know what to destroy to get room for a new item or a new quest object. In this case, some items vendors for 30 cover where these selects is only one cover and therefore you would much rather like to destroy these. At some point you will probably also like to clean up your inventory and sell all the different things you don't need. But instead of manually clicking one item at a time, then you can save a lot of time by getting the addon Leatrix plus. What it allows you to do is to automatically sell junk items, so all different items you probably won't need and what you won't be able to sell on the auction house as it's not a material for a profession.

8. Repair Mistake

The next time you need to repair your items then before you press repair, all make sure to sell all the things in your bags that you don't need, else you will end up repairing every single item in your bags. This could be an old item you don't even use anymore, but because this lost durability while you used it, then you will also end up spending money repairing it and it doesn't matter if it has 50 or 70 durability when you sell it. The sell price will be the exact same, so you will just end up wasting money if you repair all items first.

9. Gain Rested Experience

One big mistake a lot of people do when they need to log out for a lot of hours or maybe even a couple of days is just to log out at a random location. Instead, spend those 10 seconds and use your heartstone, then you will also log out instantly and the next time you have to play, you will also have gained a bit of rested experience. So whenever you slay something, your experience is also increased by 100% and it will indicate simply by making your experience bar blue instead of purple. So here's a quick tip for any of you that plan to live many different characters in Season of Discovery to test out the new spells:

Simply give them to around level five, log out, gain rested experience and then level up your all characters only with this. That way you will level them up a bit quicker and you will never really run out of any quest to do, simply because you will always be overleveled.

10. Avoid This Mistake

At the launch day, there's one big mistake you should avoid doing. When you get to a quest where you just need to kill one specific enemy, then you should skip this if there's way too much competition. You could try to group up with other people, but it might still take a lot of time. All this time you could easily have spent and granted way more experience simply by killing enemies or completing another quest.

11. Purchase Water

When you create a Caster class you will start with a bit of water, but this water usually only lasts until you have done the first quest. Then you will be out of water and you will all of the sudden also level a lot slower because you have to wait for many mana ticks. Therefore, we would highly recommend you to complete the quest Glyphic Memorandum and then render everything you find. This money you could then spend on purchasing between 10 to 15 water, and now you can level up a lot quicker.
