New World Season 4 Best Artifact (Weapon & Armor) - NW S4 Artifact Item Tier List

Artifacts in New World are special items that can be equipped to provide powerful bonuses to your character. They can be found throughout the world, but they are especially common in elite enemy encounters and expeditions. There are four types of artifacts: weapons, armor, jewelry, and amulets. Each artifact has a unique set of perks that can be upgraded by spending Azoth. If you want to find out the New World Season 4 best artifact items, read our NW S4 artifacts ranking! We'll list their abilities, perks and where to to get them as well.

S Tier - Boltcaster (Bow)

  • 72 Base Damage

  • 7.0% Critical Hit Change

  • 1.30 Critical Damage Multiplier

  • 38.0 Block Stamina Damage

  • 42.0 Stagger Damage

  • 233 Lightning Damage

  • 2 Thrust Damage

Perks

  • +38 Magnify (to highest attribute)

  • Electrified: 99% of damage is converted to lightning, and lightning damage is increased by 20% for both weapons.

  • Bolt: Lightning damage vs full health targets inflicts a 0.5s stun.

  • Shirking Lightning: After dodging an attack, your next hit within 10s deals +45% base weapon damage as lightning.

  • Enchanted: Light and Heavy attacks deal +5% damage

How To Get?

  • Boltcaster can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

Boltcaster is the most popular and one of the best New World Season 4 artifacts. What this is going to do is convert 99% of the damage from your bow from thrust damage to lightning damage. The lightning damage has increased by 20% for both weapons now. Lightning damage is not something a lot of people build into especially in PvP. This is one of the only element types that there's no weapon tied to it. If this hits someone who's at full health, they will get stunned even though we don't know how long the stun is. Anyway, be sure to look out for this New World Season 4 artifact item because this is very popular maybe with a rapier second bar with a 150 int or maybe a spear on the second bar with a lightning Attunement and then a lightning split gem.

A Tier - Gladiator (Round Shield)

  • 63 Base Damage

  • 7.0% Critical Hit Change

  • 1.30 Critical Damage Multiplier

  • 54.0 Block Stamina Damage

  • 55.0 Stagger Damage

  • 35.7 Armor Rating - Elemental

  • 35.7 Armor Rating - Physical

  • 30% Blocking Stability

Perks

  • Jagged Spikes: When you're hit in melee inflict bleed on your attacker dealing 10% weapon damage for 10s (3 Cooldown)

  • Dimishing Shield Bash: Reduce non-consumable buff durations for enemies hit by Shield Bash by 47%.

  • Fortifying Shield Rush: After hitting a target with Shield Rush, gain Fortify, increasing armor by 35% for 6s.

  • Keenly Empowered: Gain 10% Empower for 5s on critical hit (10s cooldown).

How To Get?

  • Gladiator can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

Gladiator is very different because whenever you are hit in melee range, you inflict a bleed on your attacker dealing 10% weapon damage for 10 seconds and this has a 3-second cool down on the proc. It doesn't multiple stacks according to player's feedback. Remember the shield counts as an armor artifact category so you can pair this with either Odo or the Butcher. Either way this with the Keenly Jagged one hand can provide a lot of passive dot pressure also heart rune seems to generate a lot faster depending on how many dots you have. This could have a very niche space. Something else to notice is it has two different weapon perks on the shield. It has both diminishing shield bash and fortifying shield rush. The diminishing Shield bash perk is not great but the fortifying shield rush is pretty good to go ahead. Get on your round shield but does this outclass something unyielding on a light armor build? Many people won’t sacrifice their armor artifact of choice for this one. Some people said this could be one of the new best New World S4 artifacts.

A Tier - Vengeance (Life Staff)

  • 55 Base Damage

  • 6.0% Critical Hit Chance

  • 1.20 Critical Damage Multiplier

  • 32.0 Block Stamina Damage

  • 32.0 Stagger Damage

  • 22% Blocking Stability

How To Get?

  • Vengeance can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

This is a damaging life staff staff. There's no blessing on this but when you successfully heal, gain 1% damage for 10 seconds up to 20 stacks. We're talking about a 20% unique damage modifier. This is something different as a healer's job is to focus on healing but a lot of healing stacking pays off for the user. This can be especially prominent if there is no internal cooldown. The truth is a 20% damage boost to your life staff is probably not too bad. But this artifact might not be very viable in PvE, instead more so a Solo PvP artifact that can do damage at range if paired with a Void Gauntlet or Flail. With the gem changes, this new New World Season 4 artifact item could be crazy and also it can be applied to the second weapon. So if you get your 1% damage and then you change weapons, you're getting this.

A Tier - The Unmoved (Heavy Footwear)

  • 340.6 Armor Rating - Elemental

  • 340.6 Armor Rating - Physical

Perks

  • +32 Magnify (to highest attribute)

  • Unmovable: You cannot be displaced.

  • Empty Socket Attach a gem to add its effect.

  • Grit Ward: -3% damage while under the effects of grit.

  • Physical Aversion: Receive 4.5% less damage from ranged, physical attacks.

  • Random Perk

How To Get?

  • Unmoved can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

This one's very interesting because it is unmovable and you cannot be displaced. We’re not 100% sure if stagger is included. With this artifact, Scorpion's Sting the ones that knock you completely flying, they're not going to do it anymore. If you have these effectively, you have permanent grit but you also get grit as well and you get physical aversion. This new New World Season 4 artifact armor could be a good Artifact worth getting.

B Tier - Quickdraw Glove (Light Glove)

  • 103.0 Armor Elemental

  • 103.0 Armor Physical

Perks

  • +32 Magnify (to highest attributes)

  • Quickdraw: You're immune to damage for 0.5 after you weapon swap (12s cool-down)

  • Empty Socket: Attach a gem to add its effect.

  • Refreshing: Reduce max cooldowns by 4%.

  • Freedom: Reduce the base duration of Slow, Stun, and Root by 12%.

  • Random Perk

How To Get?

  • Quickdraw gloves come from completing season passes.

With Quickdraw gloves, you're immune to damage for 0.5 seconds after your weapon swap. It sounds insanely good but it has a 12-second cooldown. This can be good because if you pair this with the 300 dex passive, it allows you to CC break just by swapping weapons. Since you can bar swap while stunned maybe you can time things out to avoid a lot of damage. This can be a very powerful new NW Season 4 artifact with the 300 dex rapier build because you have the repost, avoid damage, another ability that gives you damage immunity and a lot of uptime on immunity. That sounds very very slippery and tough to deal with. This is one of these artifact armor in New World Season 4 where it could be very strong or could be very weak.

B Tier - Winged Leather Shoes (Footwear)

  • 187.4 Armor Rating - Elemental Physical

  • 187.4 Armor Rating - Physical

Perks

  • +32 Magnify (to highest attributes)

  • Speed: Base Duration of the hastes on you is increased by 50%

  • Empty Socket: Attack a gem to add its effect

  • Refreshing: Reduce max cooldowns by 4%

  • Freedom: Reduce the base duration of slow, stun, and root by 12%.

  • Random Perk

How To Get?

  • Winged Leather Shoes comes from the season pass at level 20.

They have speedy fire which is the base duration of haste on you is now increased by 50%. If you're going to go fast, you're going to go fast for longer. It also has refreshing and freedom and their medium boots. There will be some people out there who probably are going to use this footwear with haste.

B Tier - Deep Freeze (Ice Gauntlet)

  • 59 Base Damage

  • 9.0% Critical Hit Chance

  • 1.30 Critical Damage Multiplier

  • 43.0 Block Stamina Damage

  • 44.0 Stagger Damage

  • 30% Blocking Stability

  • 193 Ice Damage

Perks

  • +38 Magnify (to highest attribute)

  • Chilling End: Frozen, rooted or chilled enemies take 15% additional damage (on both weapons).

  • Empty Socket: Attach a gem to add its effect.

  • Unbroken Winds: Wind Chill deals + 40% damage. If Wind Chill hits the same target 6 times in a row they become rooted for 1s

  • Refreshing Move: Light and Heavy attacks reduce your active weapon cooldowns by 2.5%. (0.2s cooldown).

  • Random Perk

How To Get?

  • Deep Freeze can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

Deep Freeze is the Ice Gauntlet. The chilling end is the frozen, rooted, or chilled enemies that take 15% additional damage and that's on both weapons. This will put nicely with the fire staff. The fire staff is not doing any stuns but if you're in Outpost Rush and somebody is rooting people then that will do damage. If you want to use your Ice Gauntlet to freeze them or chill them, then you can. It does however have unbroken winds which is the wind chill damage, and a slept-on peak which is very annoying. It also has a refreshing move and the perk of your choice.

C Tier - Koya’s Knee Guards (Light Legwear)

  • 134.7 Armor Rating - Elemental Physical

  • 134.7 Armor Rating - Physical

Perks

  • +32 Magnify (to highest attributes)

  • Reinforced Kneecaps: Incoming ranged physical attacks deal 33% less damage to you.

  • Empty Socket: Attack a gem to add its effect.

  • Enchanted Ward: -4% damage from light and heavy attacks.

  • Physical Aversion: Receive 4.5% less damage from ranged, physical attacks

  • Random Perk

How To Get?

  • Koya’s Knee Guards can’t be found in any quest, reward, drop, etc.

It’s most likely this Artifact is not obtainable right now. You have reinforced kneecaps that feature incoming range physical attacks that deal 33% less damage. You also have an enchanted ward and physical aversion, so very much against that physical range damage. This new New World Armor Artifact isn't going to be very strong because of a lot of the range users especially if they're using Boltcasters, that damage will count as elemental instead of physical. However, what you could do is go all elemental like aversion and elemental gems then have Koya’s Knee Guards to negate a lot of damage. Since they are light armor, a lot of people won’t be using them.
