New World Season 4 Update: Release Date, Expedition, Artifacts, Events & Rewards 

New World Season 4 update called Eternal Frost. Season 4 introduces a variety of cosmetic rewards, consumable boosts, and high-end loot through its new Season Pass, winter festival, and endgame expedition. This season will launch in December and brings a ton of new content for players to experience. New World Season 4 Release Date and PTR

Players looking to get an early look at the Season 4 content can participate in the Public Test Realm (PTR) which will begin on November 9, 2023. The PTR allows players to test out upcoming features before the official launch and provide feedback. It can be accessed by downloading a separate New World PTR client from Steam. Progress made in the PTR will not carry over to the live servers once Eternal Frost fully releases on December 12, 2023. The PTR is only for testing purposes before the actual release.

New World Season 4 Expedition

A new Level 65 Expedition called The Glacial Tarn will be introduced in NW Season 4 update. Set in the Great Cleave region, it takes players to a frozen cavern complex hidden beneath the Empyrean Forge. Players must locate and harness the primordial magic of the Empyrean Flame to defeat enemies imbued with ice magic and destroy the Knight Ser Loth.

New World Season 4 Artifacts

Eight powerful new New World Season 4 best Artifacts will be available as equipment drops in Eternal Frost. These artifacts include weapons like the lightning-focused Boltcaster Bow and gear like the speed-boosting Winged Shoes. Each artifact has its own quest line for players to complete.

New World Season 4 Season Story and Pass

Rise of the Angry Earth owners will gain access to a new season story involving a rogue Knight of the Round Table seeking to cover the world in eternal winter. There is also a new Season Journey, activity card, challenges and rewards part of the Season Pass.

New World Season 4 Events

All players can participate in returning events like the New World Season 4 Winter Convergence Festival to earn skins, emotes, and more. A new open-world boss called the Winter Warrior will also threaten various zones for rewards. The Winter Convergence Festival is expected to run from mid-December through late January/early February. This lines up with the typical winter season.  Special villages decorated for the holidays will appear in various zones. Players can visit them to find quests from the Winter Wanderer NPC.

New World Season 4 Rewards

New World S4 will introduce a new Season Pass that provides rewards for players as they complete in-game challenges and activities. Some of the rewards included in the Season Pass are:

• Cosmetic items like weapon and armor skins, housing items, and player titles. These help customize a player's look.

• Consumables like Azoth, tuning orbs, and resource potions. These provide useful boosts for crafting, gathering, and other activities.

• Currency like New World gold and gems that can be used at the in-game store.

Participating in the Winter Convergence Festival will also award limited-time rewards that are only available during that event. Players can earn festive skin variants, seasonal emotes, and housing decorations themed around winter by collecting Winter Tokens and completing quests from the Winter Wanderer.

Defeating the new open-world Winter Warrior boss provides event-specific daily rewards as well. Each victory against this boss will grant players rewards to mark their accomplishment.

The new Glacial Tarn expedition also promises to contain unique named loot with desirable perk combinations that can be worthwhile for min-maxing different builds. Completing this challenging endgame activity awards players the best gear.
