Best Way to Gear for PVP Dragonflight - WoW Dragonflight PvP Gearing System & Guide

12/5/2022 12:35:09 PM

With revamps to professions and gearing systems in World of Warcraft Dragonflight, what is the best way to gear for PvP in this expansion? Let’s go through some of the best ways and tips for Dragonflight PvP gearing.

Changes to Dragonflight PVP Gearing System

Ignoring the server hiccups, most people think that Dragonflight is the best World of Warcraft expansion so far, especially for PVP players, there are no more borrowed powered systems, no more secondary offsets of legendaries or heirlooms, it may just get some PVP gear on use and PvP gear is also going to scale, now you don’t need to upgrade it for PVP scenarios, if you want to upgrade your gear to carry it into other avenues of the game, World PVP dungeons and raids, you still have the option to farm the currency and upgrade it, but getting a base set of PVP gear is the easiest it has ever been.

WoW Dragonflight PvP Gearing Guide - Best Way to Get PVP Gear in Dragonflight

You have several types of PvP gear to get at different item levels in WoW Dragonflight, which involves different locations and vendors to farm or purchase from.

First, for the honor gear, the best time to farm it is probably before you reach your max level, do not rush to level 70, because if you get to level 70 too fast without farming any honor gear, your equipment will be poor compared to others. So it’s better to mix in some Battleground queues and Arena Skirmishes queues while you are leveling and doing quests, when you achieve a max level, you can get a base honor set almost all out of the way and you have a way better experience.

In addition, you can work on some professions, because there are also some crafting pieces of gear that you want to acquire, you should be able to purchase these items from the auction house, there are going to be items that will give you a CC reduction and procs that you're going to want to look into, but the best gear that you can get aside from those pieces that players probably haven't been able to even farm up towards is going to be honor gear, so just getting honor, doing World PVP quests, World PVP is a great thing to engage in.

There is another form of PVP gear you can get called Bloody Tokens, Fieldmaster Emberath sells 366 item-level gear with Bloody Tokens, you are able to get those from doing War mode world quests or collecting those crates falling from the sky. Another vendor next to Fieldmaster Emberath is Malicia, she is going to sell 385 item-level gear, which requires a currency called Trophy of Strife, also a type of PVP gear. The conquest gear is not yet in the game now, you have to hold off on that and farm on it.

WoW Dragonflight Fast Gearing Tips

No matter what class or spec you are playing, here some gearing tips from GaleaGGTV, making it is easier to get your item level increased.

1. Do World Quests after Mythic +0

Leave your world quests if possible until after your Mythic 0, and just get your Mythic zeros done as quickly as possible. When you get your Mythic zeros done, that's going to be a significant amount of boost to your item level. World quests are now only getting released twice a week, so it gives you about three days to get your Mythic zeros done and then you can go back and once M+ zeros are completed, you can go back and do your World quests and then you'll get a bit of item level increased.

2. Save your Bloody Tokens

If you have a war mode on and you do your PVP world quests and you get any War Supply chests, that only appear in war mode, you will be receiving Bloody Tokens for killing players and all of this will round up in being able to purchase things like weapons or targeting some slots. The recommendation is that do not use these tokens until you've completed your M+ 0, but once you've completed that, you can go out and fill any lower item-level slots that you want to fill out.

3. Get the item level 389 ring

You can get a guaranteed Item Level 389 ring from the Cobalt Assembly reputation, where you can farm reputation from mobs and there is currently a group quest up, once you've completed that group quest, you should be able to go back and you'll be low reputation and you can buy a buff, which increases your reputation gains by 30, you can then use that 30 increase reputation gain to get to level up fast in a short time, just go with the custom group section and search Cobalt and you'll find lots and lots of players trying to grind this Assembly Guardian’s ring.

4. Renown & Dragonscale Expedition rewards

Two reputations you can focus on to get some higher item level gear, if you manage to hit Renown level 11 with Maruuk Centaur, you can get these friendly farrier boots and their 376 item level, and then if you come back to Dragonscale Expedition, if you get to level 12 with Dragonscale Expedition, if you do all of the side quests, all the world quests, you can get some 376 item level gloves, which provides a quick easy way to get some item level upgrades as well.
