All Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Runes Tier List (Season 6)

10/1/2024 10:26:21 AM

In the upcoming Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansion, players will wield a powerful new system that can drastically augment their characters' abilities - the Runeword system. Today, we'll examine the D4 Vessel of Hatred Runes Tier List and analyze what are the best runes for your builds in DLC or Season 6.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred Best Rune (Runeword) Tier List

This tier list ranks all the runes available in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. These S-tier runes stand out usually because they have powerful abilities or boosts and can work with various builds in D4 Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred DLC. Pair the most powerful Rune of Ritual with the Rune of Invocation and socket them into an item with two sockets to get the best runewords.

D4 Invocation Runes Tier List

  • S Tier

- Yom: an exceptional choice for critical strike-focused builds. It imbues your attacks with a petrifying effect, ensuring that any enemy struck has a 50% increased chance of being critically hit. This significant boost to critical hit chance translates into substantially higher damage output, making it an invaluable asset for builds that heavily rely on critical strikes. However, it's important to note that this rune does not provide any benefits for damage over time (DoT) or minion-based builds.

- Ohm: a versatile option that offers two potent effects: War Cry and Berserking. War Cry grants a 15% damage increase, while Berserking further enhances your combat prowess with a 25% movement speed boost. This combination of offensive and mobility bonuses makes the Ohm Rune an excellent choice for a wide range of builds, including those focused on critical strikes, damage over time, and even some Barbarian setups. The ability to gain these benefits without consuming valuable skill slots on your skill bar adds to its appeal.

- Wat: a defensive powerhouse, providing the Decrepify effect. This debuff slows enemy movement and attack speed while also reducing their damage output. Additionally, it grants an execute mechanic, allowing you to quickly eliminate weakened foes. It suits builds that require additional defensive layers or struggle to fit sufficient defenses into their setup.

  • A Tier

- Gar: provides a substantial boost to critical strike chance, good for builds that rely on critical hits. Its ease of use and utility early on contribute to its high-tier ranking.

- Zec: reducing the cooldown of your ultimate ability. For builds that heavily rely on their ultimate, or those struggling to fit enough cooldown reduction, this rune can be invaluable.

- Mot: grants access to the Rogue's Dark Shroud ability, providing damage reduction. It's particularly useful for Rogue builds that need to free up skill slots or for other classes seeking additional defensive layers.

- Vex: offering a flat +3 to all skill levels, this rune can provide a noticeable damage increase, especially for builds with lower skill ranks. It can also aid in reducing ultimate cooldowns.

  • B Tier

- Lum: while resource management is less of a concern for late-game builds, the Lum Rune's ability to alleviate resource issues makes it a valuable option, especially during the progression phase.

- Tec: primarily beneficial for Barbarian builds, it allows for longer Earthquake durations and synergies with certain glyphs, potentially increasing damage output.

- Xan: it can be incredibly powerful by guaranteeing a critical hit on the next skill cast. However, its high cost and niche applications relegate it to the B tier.

- Qax: similar to the Xan Rune, the Qax Rune offers a significant damage boost by expending all resources for a single powerful hit.

  • C Tier

- Kry: pull enemies together can be situationally useful, but its high cost and long cooldown limit its overall appeal.

- Lac: its Challenging Shout effect can be a lifesaver in certain situations, providing a powerful defensive buff. However, its high cost prevents it from ranking higher.

- Xal: offering a cheaper life buff alternative to offensive runes, it can be a viable option for builds struggling with survivability.

- Ceh: the Spirit Wolf summon can provide some utility for companion-focused Druid builds, but its overall impact is limited.

- Eom: reduces skill cooldowns. It could potentially move up tiers for builds that really want maximum cooldown reduction and this effect proves powerful.

- Que: providing a damage-absorbing shield effect similar to Challenging Shout. Another very costly defensive option at 500 offering cost.

  • D Tier

- Jah: its teleport evade effect, while intriguing, is severely hampered by its exorbitant cost, making it not that powerful in most situations.

- Ner: granting stealth from the Rogue class, it has limited practical applications outside of niche scenarios or potential PvP use.

- Qua: the evade and movement speed buff could be useful if it were cheaper, but its high cost often outweighs its benefits.

- Ton: providing access to the Sorceress' Meteorite ability, it is primarily useful for specific Sorceress builds focused on that skill.

- Teb: its Pestilence Swarm effect could potentially synergize with certain builds, but its overall impact is expected to be minimal.

- Tal: the Concussive Stomp stun ability from Spiritborn. While cheap, just providing a stun is not worth a skill slot when stuns can be triggered more consistently through item affixes.

- Tzic: is considered not useful for anything meaningful.

  • F Tier

- Met: the Desecrated Ground effect is generally considered ineffective and not worth using.

- Thul: the Frost Nova effect is easily replicated by other means, rendering it largely obsolete.

- Tun: the Dancing Bolts effect appears to offer little practical benefit.

- Ono: the Stun Grenade effect is outclassed by other crowd control options.

D4 Ritual Runes Tier List

  • S Tier

- Tam: a legendary rune that provides 25 Offerings every time you cast a core skill. For builds that frequently use core skills, like fast-attacking builds, this rune is incredibly potent as it can generate 50-100 Offerings per second with no cooldown.

- Lith: standing still for just 0.3 seconds activates this rune's effect, making it very accommodating, especially in boss fights or high-end content where movement is limited. The short window allows you to weave in attacks while still benefiting from effects that require standing still.

- Xol: by evoking powers from other classes like the Ciphri's Cyclone Armor, you gain a huge 150 Offering. When combined with skills that cost less Offering, like the 100 Offering Cyclone Armor, you actually net a profit of Offering.

- Yul: generating Offering whenever you cast a skill on cooldown caters perfectly to builds that spam cooldowns frequently, such as Rogues using Rain of Vengeance or Lightning Spire. Even builds with moderate cooldown usage can take advantage of Yul by activating utility skills regularly. Its broad compatibility across builds makes it an exceptional option.

  • A Tier

- Zan: cast an ultimate skill to gain Offering. Some builds like Rain of Vengeance Demon Hunters or Death Trap Rogues spam ultimates frequently, making this very potent. However, its power is build-dependent.

- Poc: spend 5% of maximum resource for 2 Offering. Useful for builds that deplete and refill resources often like certain Strafe Demon Hunters.

  • B Tier

- Bac: travel 5m for 50 Offering. Easy to proc for movement-heavy playstyles like speedrunning. Useful for activating effects alongside other runes.

- Cir: get Offering when hitting with non-core skills. Helps basics-spamming builds. A good early-game option before obtaining top runes.

  • C Tier

- Noc: offering for inflicting CC besides Slow/Chill. Limited by boss immunity and lack of CC in some builds.

- Kaa: lose 1% life for 2 Offering. Niche usage for low-life builds.

- Neo: huge 300 Offering for not taking damage for 5s. Unreliable except for elite dodgers.

- Cem: evade for 50 Offering. Difficulty meeting evade conditions makes it mediocre.

- Yax: gain Offering from chugging health potions. Quick Offering burst before bosses.

  • D Tier

- Ahu: lucky hits on injured enemies grant Offering. Unreliable and useless on bosses.

- Moni: offering for moving then casting. The low payoff for the condition.

- Ur: minion/pet kills or deaths grant Offering. Extremely situational and low value.

  • F Tier

- Feo: taking damage/CC gives 1000 Offering, extremely difficult and risky condition to reliably activate.
