• 1. Carian Sovereignty (S+ Tier)

Equippable on: All swords

FP Cost: 26

Effect: Slam sword down to create projectiles and shockwaves. Charged follow up swings.

Absolutely devastates groups and even staggers bosses. Massive damage and poise damage. Hyperarmor lets you tank through attacks. The undisputed best Ash of War in Elden Ring.

• 2. Flame Spear (S Tier)

Equippable on: Thrusting weapons

FP Cost: 19

Effect: Enhance weapon with fire and unleash a flaming projectile.

Top-tier damage and versatility. Moveset enhances any build, buff duration is long. Easy to use and spam.

• 3. Palm Blast (S Tier)

Equippable on: Unarmed weapons

FP Cost: 14

Effect: Devastating charged heavy palm strike attack. Gain hyperarmor.

Incredible reach, damage, and poise damage when charged. Also useful for breaking guards and staggering foes.

• 4. Wing Stance (S Tier)

Equippable on: Light greatswords

FP Cost: 8-12

Effect: Take to the air and perform flying thrust or slash attacks.

Excellent mobility and poise damage. Charged R2 is extremely fast, damaging, and hard to avoid.

• 5. Shriek of Sorrow (S Tier)

Equippable on: All weapons

FP Cost: 19

Effect: Gain damage buff proportional to missing HP. Lasts 40 seconds.

Outdamages attack buffs when low HP. Cheap cost allows frequent rebuffing. Synergizes with low HP playstyles.

• 6. Blind Spot (S Tier)

Equippable on: Backhanded blades

FP Cost: 9

Effect: Quick sidestep into an impaling attack.

Seamlessly dodges attacks while retaliating in the same motion. High counter damage due to attack timing. Low cost.

• 7. Swift Slash (S Tier)

Equippable on: Backhanded blades

FP Cost: 16

Effect: Quick horizontal dash with slash attack. Can be charged for more damage.

Unexpectedly high damage and range for cost. Extremely quick animation makes it very spammable. Easy to use.

8. Flame Spear (S Tier)

Equippable on: Thrusting weapons

FP Cost: 19

Effect: Thrust to shoot a flame projectile. Buffs weapon with fire afterward.

Deals fire damage, buffs weapon, and infuses attacks with fire. Fully charged version has hyperarmor and insane range/damage.

• 9. Spinning Gravity Thrust (S Tier)

Equippable on: Heavy thrusting weapons

FP Cost: 38

Effect: Spin rapidly while thrusting weapon to deal massive damage. Gain hyperarmor.

Incredible damage and poise damage output. Alternative to Ruin/Giant Hunt for strength builds. Long animation so timing is key.

• 10. Overhead Stance (A Tier)

Equippable on: Great katanas

FP Cost: 8-10

Effect: Swift overhead slash or triple slash combo.

Deceptively strong damage and reach thanks to the great katana's range. Easy to use and builds bleed rapidly.

• 11. Divine Beastfrost Stomp (A Tier)

Equippable on: All weapons

FP Cost: 15

Effect: Create a small frost AOE underneath you. Improved frostbite over regular stomp.

Faster and stronger frost application than standard stomp. Small AOE and stance damage help make it more versatile and useful.

• 12. Savage Claws (A Tier)

Equippable on: Beast claws

FP Cost: 13

Effect: Unleash a flurry of slashing claw attacks.

Shreds poise and builds bleed rapidly. Lacks hyperarmor so risky against larger enemies. Melts weaker, staggered foes.

• 13. The Poison Flower Blooms Twice (A Tier)

Equippable on: All melee weapons

FP Cost: 15

Effect: Horizontal poison mist spinning attack. Bonus damage against poisoned enemies.

Respectable damage and quick poison buildup. Excellent synergy with poise and poison to maximize damage against resistant foes.

• 14. Rolling Sparks (B Tier)

Equippable on: Perfume bottles

FP Cost: 14

Effect: Roll forward while launching explosive projectiles.

Excellent perfume bottle skill. Devastating damage if enemy is directly in the explosions. Not great at tracking moving targets.

• 15. Dryleaf Whirlwind (B Tier)

Equippable on: Unarmed weapons

FP Cost: 14

Effect: Launch into the air and perform flying kick attacks.

Great at staggering smaller enemies but lacks hyperarmor. Charged heavy attacks can deal more damage more safely. Fun to use against weaker foes.

• 16. Scattershot Throw (B Tier)

Equippable on: Throwing blades

FP Cost: 11

Effect: Rapidly throw dozens of blades in front of you in a spread.

Vastly improves throwing blade viability and damage output. Great for proccing bleed. But still lacks range and tracking.

• 17. Aspect of the Crucible: Wings (B Tier)

Equippable on: Thrusting weapons

FP Cost: 22

Effect: Take to the air and perform a spinning thrust attack while airborne.

Covers large area and can hit multiple foes. But lacks hyperarmor and damage doesn't justify high FP cost. Easily punished.

• 18. Savage Lion's Claw (B Tier)

Equippable on: Heavy thrusting weapons

FP Cost: 16

Effect: Charged jumping attack followed by additional leaping slams.

Strong damage and poise damage, but slower and less effective than regular Lion's Claw for stance breaking. Requires more FP as well.

• 19. Igon's Drakehunt (C Tier)

Equippable on: Greatbows

FP Cost: 14

Effect: Greatly enhances next greatbow attack's damage and range.

Solid single target damage buff for greatbows. Through and Through is better for hitting multiple targets. Long startup animation.

• 20. Raging Beast (C Tier)

Equippable on: Beast claws

FP Cost: 7

Effect: Dash sideways and perform a jumping downward slash. Follow up with additional leaping attacks.

Decent mobility and stagger potential, but difficult to control and lacks hyperarmor on follow up leap attacks. Damage is mediocre.

• 21. Blinkbolt (C Tier)

Equippable on: All weapons

FP Cost: 7

Effect: Quickly dodge and close distance while coated in lightning.

Blinkbolt can help you avoid attacks and quickly close gaps, but doesn't excel at either compared to skills like Bloodhound Step and Quickstep. Damage is minimal.

• 22. Ghostflame Call (D Tier)

Equippable on: Swords, spears

FP Cost: 14

Effect: Charges weapon with ghostflame magic and unleashes projectile.

Extremely lackluster damage compared to similar skills like Death Poker. Needs significant buffs to be viable.

• 23. Shield Strike (D Tier)

Equippable on: Shields

FP Cost: 8

Effect: Allows you to perform a standard attack with a shield equipped.

A very basic skill that lets you attack instead of blocking with a shield. Nothing special about it.

• 24. Wall of Sparks (D Tier)

Equippable on: Perfume bottles

FP Cost: 16

Effect: Releases sparks around you that can be detonated after a few seconds for AOE damage. Damage type depends on perfume bottle element.

Wall of Sparks has a long startup and animation. The heavy attack of perfume bottles does the same thing but faster and better. Mostly ineffective compared to other options.

• 25. Piercing Throw (D Tier)

Equippable on: Throwing blades

FP Cost: 8

Effect: Launches 3 piercing projectiles in front of you. Minimal damage and range.

Piercing Throw is one of the weakest ashes due to the low damage and range of throwing blades in general. The projectiles have no tracking and the skill doesn't provide much benefit.
