Elden Ring DLC Early Access & Local Release Time Schedule

FromSoftware did not provide a special early access version for the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The release time for the DLC is staggered depending on the platform and region. For those players who want to enter the game as soon as possible, this can be achieved by resetting the console time. 

Strategy for Access: Console players, especially those in the PDT and CDT time zones, might have a slight head start over their PC counterparts due to these differences in release times. Players eager to start as soon as possible might consider adjusting their console region settings or planning their purchase based on the detailed release times. 

Here's a breakdown of when you can start playing based on your platform and time zone:

General Release Time: Midnight local time on June 21st in most regions around the world

These local release times allow players in certain U.S. time zones to begin playing the game a few hours before the clock hits midnight on the East Coast, potentially using the New Zealand Time Zone trick for even earlier access at 5am on June 20th (PDT)!

Global Release Time: Midnight CEST on Friday, June 21 at the same time around the world, but the exact time varies by time zone:

• USA Central - 5pm on June 20th (CDT)

Elden Ring DLC Early Access on PC: 

This means that PC players will be able to access the game at the same time, the only difference being the time zone displayed.

Elden Ring DLC Pre-Load Time for Xbox, PS, PC

To get into the DLC as soon as possible, you can also download the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion at advance. The "Shadow of the Erdtree" DLC will be available for pre-loading approximately 48 hours before its release. This pre-load opportunity helps ensure players can start playing as soon as the DLC goes live without waiting for a lengthy download, given the manageable file size.

Unfortunately, the pre-load option is exclusively available for PlayStation users. Xbox and PC players will need to download the DLC at the time of its actual release. 

Here are the pre-load start times for PS5/PS4:

• PST (Pacific Standard Time): June 19 at 9pm

• EST (Eastern Standard Time): June 20 at midnight

• CEST (Central European Summer Time): June 19 at 6pm
