With reset on the North American servers, we're already seeing some changes in WoW Classic Season of Discovery Ashenvale that are setting us up for Phase 2 launch. Read our Season of Discovery Phase 2 Ashenvale PvP event guide, we’ll cover the changes that will also help us prepare for the Phase 2 launch.
The Battle for Ashenvale is a world PvP event that takes place in the zone of Ashenvale during Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. It occurs when players fill up a progress bar by getting PvP kills in Ashenvale, which triggers the start of the event. Each faction (Alliance and Horde) has 3 lieutenants guarding camps around the zone, and players need to defeat all 3 lieutenants to face the final faction leader. Next, we're going to talk about everything you should know about the WoW Classic Phase 2 Ashenvale PvP event.
Players can loot tokens called Sigils of the Keeper/Blademaster dropped from mobs during the event. Each starts a quest.
For Alliance, the sigil item is called Sigil of the Keeper. Turning it into Keeper Remulos starts the quest "Sigil of the Keeper", rewarding a one-time buff item.
For Horde, the sigil item is called Sigil of the Blademaster. Turning it into Far Seer Mazu starts the quest "Sigil of the Blademaster", also rewarding a one-time buff item.
These NPCs (Remulos and Mazu) were recently added to their respective faction bases in Ashenvale, allowing players to turn in the quest even when the event is not active. The one-time buff items granted cannot be reused after using them and only impact the individual player. They do not stack with other world buffs. The buffs offer strong stats but can only be obtained once per weekly reset unless the buff remains unused in the player's inventory.
Honor points for killing enemies and objectives. This is the main source of honor at level 25.
Reputation with the Warsong Gulch factions - Silverwing Sentinels for Alliance and Warsong Outriders for Horde.
200 reputation for killing lieutenants or the opposing faction's leader. Bonus reputation for remaining lieutenants when winning.
10-15 reputation for killing elite mobs in encampments, up to Exalted.
New faction quartermaster gear unlocked at different reputation levels up to Revered.
Mounts that can be ridden only in Ashenvale are sold at Friendly with the factions.
A powerful temporary stat buff when near your own faction's lieutenants or leader in the field.
Completing associated quests from looted sigil items rewards a one-time usable personal buff.
100 reputation granted to the winning faction at the end of each hour-long battle.
To get the Ashenvale zone-specific PvP mounts from the Battle for Ashenvale event in Season of Discovery, players must choose either the Alliance or Horde faction to participate in the world PvP event, which involves doing objectives, killing enemies and bosses, and helping capture camps to earn reputation with either the Silverwing Sentinels or Warsong Outriders factions. Upon reaching Friendly reputation by completing event activities, players can then travel to either Astranaar for Alliance or Splintertree Post for Horde in Ashenvale, locate the quartermaster of their faction's Warsong Gulch faction, and purchase the Reins of the Silverwing Sentinel Elekk for Alliance or Reins of the Warsong Direwolf for Horde for 75g, with the mounts only usable in Ashenvale but otherwise functioning like standard faction mounts.
There is an actual difference between the Ashenvale event. In Phase 2, we are getting more reputation than we had beforehand. This was only giving you a 2,000 reputation with Warsong Outriders whenever you turn in your weekly charm for the drums. But now if you turn in the Sentinel Charm, we get 1,000 reputations, 1 gold, and 20 silver, which means it is five times stronger. One thing you could technically theorize is that you'll also get more experience. You're supposed to get 2,000 experience at level 25 for turning this in weekly, which is something you should have ready to turn in your quest stack or in your inventory when you are preparing for leveling up but that experience could be time by five.
That isn't mainly because the Season of Discovery gold amount that you are getting is still 1 gold and 20 silver. We had to leave Ashenvale and go farm Warsong Gulch itself if we wanted to get what should most likely be everybody's full bis entire phase bracers next phase. So having them give us a way to add on to that experience and just get more experience each week is nice because getting these are going to be so powerful. Getting these bracers for everyone directly as you hit level 40 from exalted with this reputation will fill out your pre-raid base and potentially even your bis for the next phase.
Participate actively in the Battle for Ashenvale world PvP event every time it starts, which is now on a reliable 2-3 hour schedule. Focus on killing Lieutenants and the opposing faction leader.
Make sure to loot the Sigil items from event bosses and turn them in for the weekly quest. This is now worth 1000 rep, up from 200, and provides a helpful damage buff.
Queue for Warsong Gulch PvP as much as possible outside of the event times. Getting kills and caps earns rep and honor quickly in battlegrounds.
Join pre-made groups to coordinate large pushes and maximize wins. A good group can earn rep much faster through coordinated battles.
Consider leveling an alt of the same faction so you can double dip on weekly quest turn-ins if main is exalted already.
Grind elite or boss mobs in the enemy faction camps during the event for the 10-15 rep per kill.
Use consumables like potions and elixirs that provide bonus damage or PvP power to earn kills and reps more efficiently.
Stay in the zone through repetitions of the event for reputation from winning faction and Lieutenants defeated.
