Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes, BiS Gear, Raid Loots, PvP Rewards | WoW SoD Phase 2 Items

1/1/2024 12:29:22 AM

In WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2 of WoW Classic, players can expect a variety of new BiS gear, runes, and items to enhance their gameplay experience from raid and PvP. So here we will break down all the new items we are expected to get in Phase 2 of WoW Classic SoD!

WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes, BiS Gear, Gnomeregan Raid Loots

With the launch of Season of Discovery Phase 2 approaching, players are eagerly anticipating the new features and updates coming to Azeroth. In addition to raising the level cap and introducing new zones and quests, Phase 2 is set to bring meaningful character progression through expanded rune options and gear obtainable from upcoming group content.

WoW Season of Discovery Phase 2 Runes

In WoW SoD Phase 2, new runes will be added for each class and spec to provide expanded options compared to Phase 1. Official previews and lists will likely be released closer to the Phase launch to outline the new options coming.  We've got some fascinating datamined info that came out just before the SA launch:

Datamined Insights on Rune Slots in WoW SoD Phase 2

- Nine Rune Slots: We're getting nine total slots, excluding necks, rings, trinkets, and weapons.

- Gear Slots: We're looking at bracer, cloak, feet, helm, shoulder, and wrist slots—plenty of room for customization.

Predicting for WoW SoD Phase 2 Runes

With Phase 1 giving us a taste of the rune and ability system, our guess is that Phase 2 will up the ante. Here's how I think it might play out:

- Level 40 (Phase 2): We could see a Helm rune and a Belt rune.

- Level 50 (Phase 3): Perhaps Boots and Back runes.

- Level 60 (Phase 4): Shoulders and Wrists might be the ticket.

They may even throw in Rings, Trinkets, or Weapon slots later on for extra flavor and balance.

New WoW SoD Phase 2 Runes (Speculation)

Given the four runes per armor type we've seen so far, imagine this:

- Eight Runes in Phase 2: That would support different playstyles—melee, beast mastery, marksman, and AOE.

- Balancing the Power Curve: Introducing eight runes each phase could be overkill, so they might scale it back to four or six per class for manageability.

Some predicted runes include Avenging Wrath for Ret Paladins, Titans Grip for Fury Warriors, and Shuriken Toss for Rogues.

Warlock rune ideas proposed Immolation Aura, Backlash, Unstable Affliction, Drain Soul modifications, and Soul Flare changes pulling from various expansions.

Mage rune wishes included Dragon's Breath for its nostalgia, while also Ring of Frost, Water Elemental summon, Deep Freeze.

Locks hope for Immolation Aura to enable tanking playstyle. Warriors debated between preference for one-handed or Titans Grip styles.

Hunters are expected to gain Misdirect, while some want pet ability borrowing runes.

WoW Season of Discovery Gnomeregan Raid Items & Loot Table

The Gnomeregan raid, which is the level-up raid for Phase 2, will likely offer unique rewards and loot for players who complete it. These rewards may include powerful weapons, armor, and other valuable items. One singular Gnomeregan item was determined:

Automatic Crowd Pummeler:

The upgraded Automatic Crowd Pummeler is a two-handed weapon that retains the original's 16 strength and 5 agility stats but now automatically activates its 50% attack speed buff for 30 seconds every 3 minutes without needing to be manually activated each time. This reusable version will provide Feral Druids, Paladins, and Shamans who meet the level 35 requirement with an on-demand burst damage cooldown for timed periods in combat.

Pros:

The effect is the same, but is on a normal cooldown (same cooldown). No more charges, no more farming.

Cons:

You can’t spam three charges in a row before it goes on cooldown. This is technically a nerf but no self-respecting druid would seriously be upset by this compared to not having to farm MCP ever again.

Season of Discovery Phase 2 New BiS Gear

Bracers of Redirection

The Bracers of Redirection is a level 60 BoE plate bracer with no other stated stats. As a BoE world drop item, these bracers will be available for any class to equip once they reach level 60. It would presumably be world drops that can be found or purchased at the auction house.

Polearms

Three polearm weapons (level 58) are leveled items, so they may drop from monsters in level-appropriate dungeons and zones:

Tojara's Will

Tojara's Will is a level 58 polearm that wounds the target. As one of three new level 58 polearms, it offers players another weapon choice at that level to inflict damage over time on enemies through its wounding attribute.

Windwarker's Yari

Ecks'av's Tribai Guardian

That being said we have one of the items in the game being reworked ever slightly. Bracers of Redirection offer a BoE world drop option for max level players, while Todus Will and the Automatic Crow Pumer provide combat upgrades for mid-levels through their new wounding attribute and reusable crowd control ability, respectively.
