Today, we go over the WoW Classic Season of Discovery Blackfathom Deeps tier list, ranking the best class and spec for BFD raid.
The Blackfathom Deeps (BFD) is a new raid in World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 1. Blackfathom Deeps has been crafted as the first Raid for SoD, with more to come in subsequent phases. Because you are capped at level 25 during Phase 1 of Season of Discovery, this raid will teach you some fundamental fundamentals and what to look out for when confronted with additional PvE dangers. You may use Season of Discovery gold to buy some strong weapons and equipment to help you defeat the raid swiftly! Now, let's dive into the best SoD BFD Tank, Healer & DPS for phase 1!
S Tier
-Protection Warrior
-Enhancement Shaman
Starting with tanks, we have Warriors and Enhancement Shamans on top. These are the best WoW Classic SoD specs that doing the most damage. Their threat is the highest and the damage mitigation is also the best. Shamans in general have a really good AoE threat, a really good single-target threat, also they have a six-second interrupt with earth shock so that's super cool on fights like Kelris. Shaman picks are great. Shamans do have their totems as well so just all around really good class. Warriors bring thunder armor which is great for raid cool down or a debuff. Both of these classes are super awesome, and bring a lot of value to the raid.
A Tier
-Protection Paladin
-Demonology Warlock
Paladin are one of the three classes with a shield so they can use the shield and they get a lot of damage mitigation from that. Paladins do place themselves high up in this WoW Season of Discovery Blackfathom Deeps tier list.
Demo Warlocks’ damage is lower in both AoE and single targets than the other tanks. They can't block anything so their mitigation might be slightly lower but they do have awesome cooldowns like Demonic Grace which are cool that's on a 20-second cooldown. That gives you 30% dodge so you can use that a lot of times throughout a lot of fights and it'll be super helpful. So Warlock tanks are not bad.
C Tier
-Feral Druid
-Outlaw Rogue
Going over to the C tier, you're going to see the Feral Druids as well as the Combat Rogues. Their biggest factor right now that's holding them back is that they don't have any spell mitigation and no way to do that right now. Evasion is a good cool down on a one-minute cooldown but for the most part, once that's gone, you don't have a ton of mitigation to deal with.
On top of that, their health pools are a lot lower than the other tanks. So Rogues might be a decent off-tank to run in like some fights. But for the most part, their damage is high. So you just want to go DPS Rogue in a later phase, he can kind of work in the tank Rogue.
For Guardian Druids, it’s a pretty similar thing. They don't have a ton of AoE threat and their mitigation is lower. Although they do bring some decent things like Mark of the Wild and they bring a cool battle res. But for the most part, you might want to run another tank. Feral Druids are just so good at DPS right now so you might want to just run them instead. Wind Fury is cool.
S Tier
-Discipline Priest
The only healer that's really on top of this WoW Season of Discovery BFD ranking is going to be your Disc Priests. Priests in general are going to be awesome and they bring things like Homunculi which is a great debuff for the mobs. Moreover, they have Prayer of Healing and Prayer of Mending which is excellent for healing. They also bring buff that is going to increase everybody's Health.
A Tier
-Arcane Mage
-Restoration Druid
If you're not bringing a Priest though, you're probably bringing a Mage and that's why Mages are next up right here on this SoD Phase 1 BFD tier list. They do a large amount of damage and they provide a large amount of healing, that's why you take them. They're a DPS that is also healing so that's the biggest strength. Although they're out of combat healing, which is annoying, that doesn't matter for the most part, since people can eat their food and heal up. During the actual fights, Mages are super awesome.
The raid buffs for Resto Druids are going to be super nice, you also have the battle res, you can do the Mark of the Wild and you have wild growth for raid healing. Resto Druids also can pump a little bit of damage with Fury of Stormrage. They pump wrath into the target for free and they can get free heals from that as well. Resto Druids are not bad at all.
B Tier
-Restoration Shaman
-Holy Paladin
The bottom of the WOW Classic SoD Blackfathom Deeps tier list for healers is Resto Shaman and Holy Paladin. It's not their time yet, maybe because of the phase progresses. They'll be better when Restoration Shamans can chain heal and then Holy Paladins need fights that favor them a little bit more.
S Tier
-Feral Druid
-Beast Mastery Hunter
-Fury Warrior
Feral Druids are the best Season of Discovery BFD DPS. They just bring a ton to the raid, they have the Mark of the Wild, they have the Rebirth, they have the Wild Strikes and they also can do a little bit of tanking if they need to. They're just all around really good on top of the fact that they do great damage. So Feral Druids are definitely on top along with Hunters which are in a similar boat. They have their scorpion which can tank if it needs to, they have Blessing of Kings with their Aspect of the Lion, they do a ton of damage, they're also very mobile so just Hunters in general, are really good.
Due to a lot of the new Buffs things like Fury or Wild Strikes, Warriors Rogues and Retribution Paladins have also gotten a lot stronger just because they benefit from that so much. That's why you'll see a lot of casters kind of on the bottom, they just didn't get that same buff. So it's hard for them to compete. This is assuming that they do have an optimal group if you have the Hunter for the Aspect of the Lion or you have the Druid for Wild Strikes. All of those things make it nice for these classes and they can pump. If you don't have those things though, it does hurt these classes a little bit.
A Tier
-Affliction Warlock
Warlocks are pretty decent, they get a decent amount of damage, they also have the Soul Stones and they have the Health Stones that are pretty helpful for the raid. They can summon so they're probably just somebody that you're going to want to have in the raid. But they aren't crazy damage, they don't benefit from the new buffs as much so they're going to be finding themselves just a little bit lower.
B Tier
-Fire Mage
Finally, you get down here on this WoW SoD Raid DPS ranking, you see a Mage DPS. Mage DPS isn't bad.
C Tier
-Shadow Priest
-Elemental Shaman
-Balance Druid
The bottom of tiers are going to be Shadow Priests who don't get Void form until level 40. Same thing with Balance Druid, they don't get Moonkin form until level 40, and Elemental Shaman doesn't get chain lightning until level 40. They're just all finding themselves a little bit lower for this Season of Discovery WoW Classic Blackfathom Deeps tier list.
