We are only several days away from World of Warcraft Patch 10.1, based on the changes from Season 1, we’ll go over a Dragonflight Season 2 DPS tier list that is ranking the best melee DPS for WoW 10.1 Mythic plus.
WoW 10.1 Mythic+ Best Melee DPS - Meta Dragonflight Season 2 DPS Rankings & Tier List
There are some important things that are changing in WoW Dragonflight Season 2, the first one is tier sets and the second one is the dungeon pool. How do these affect the performance of classes and specs in 10.1 and what DPS should you play? Most classes have good tier sets, and there are a few ones that have greater options, on the other hand, the Mythic plus dungeon pool is becoming slightly more AOE-focused, there are some very open dungeons, and you can even make some massive pulls in these dungeons. Below is a WoW 10.1 melee DPS tier list by GaleaGGTV.
1. Sub Rogue - S Tier
The first one is going to be the Subtlety Rogue, which should be the best Rogue spec, Outlaw is pretty close behind and both of the tier sets are decent. These could easily swap places, and you may see Outlaw up and Sub down, the reason why Sub Rogue is ranked in the S tier is that it gets that funnel damage at the highest key levels. Being able to funnel damage onto bosses in certain encounters is very useful. As for why there is only one melee DPS spec put here is because there are not that many kicks and stops that you need to hit, you still need to have some control, but not as much control in these groups, it is likely going to one melee plus two ranged DPS, if there are going to be two melees, you can pick any one of the A-tier specs to join up with Rogue.
2. Ret Paladin - A Tier
Retribution Paladin is ranked in the S tier in lots of Dragonflight tier lists, it is a really meta DPS, however, Prot Paladin exists and will likely be the S-tier spec for tanks, the overlapping utility is too much to put up an S, you probably can’t see both Prot Paladin and Ret Paladins in the same group, and it is more likely to see Ret Paladin alongside other tanks, so the Ret Paladin is dropped to an A tier.
3. Outlaw Rogue - A Tier
Outlaw Rogue has been talked about above, this spec has a great tier set and is an A tier, although Sub is very good in AOE, this does not mean that is enough to overcome the sort of funnel aspect and the additional damage that Sub Rogue can bring.
4. Enhancement Shaman - A Tier
The next one is Enhancement Shaman, it has been an absolute blast this year and is incredibly good. It brings priority damage and funnel aspect, it is all around and has all of the utility in terms of AOE, overall, this is a very meta DPS spec to go in WoW 10.1 & Season 2. The only reason why it is not put in S is to avoid double melees, but you could probably easily fit double melee into a comp and find a way to get enhanced.
5. Havoc Demon Hunter - A Tier
For Dragonflight Mythic Plus, Demon Hunter is not as good as it once was, it is still very strong. The main reason why it is ranked in the A tier is that it could be incredibly good paired alongside two ranged DPS specs, in terms of its group composition that you could create with Demon Hunter, Havoc could be a very good spec.
6. Fury Warrior - A Tier
Fury Warrior is pumping damage right now, Arms Warrior is similar, but Fury is slightly better, it could easily be the case that these two swap places, both specs are very good and you will probably play both specs in Mythic Plus if you're a real top-end Warrior player, because there will be some encounters or dungeons where Fury is better than Arms or Arms is better than Fury, overall, it is easy to have one Warrior spec in A-tier DPS.
7. Feral Druid - A Tier
Feral Druid is kind of clunky, but it is going to be decent in M+ content and it will be very strong in Season 2, it has been slightly outshined by Boomkin, which has been nerfed, Feral might become the meta spec, and it brings things like Ursol's Vortex.
8. Windwalker Monk - B Tier
Coming at the B-tier DPS specs, Windwalker Monk is not quite doing the damage right now and it's good in terms of its utility and tankiness, it's always been decent for that, however, it doesn't scale quite as well. For Windwalker, you don't really interact that much with secondary stats, and your scaling isn't that great, your tier sets are decent, if anything got more of an AOE focused here than before, it's probably going to be good for Mythic plus, but it's not going to stay at A, there are so many other good melee specs.
9. Arms Warrior - B Tier
Arms Warrior is similar to Fury Warrior, you can even switch their positions, but Fury is preferred in this tier list.
10. Survival Hunter - B Tier
Survival has a decent chance of being good for Mythic+, now at the moment it doesn't really get brought because the other Hunter specs are just better, specifically BM Hunter. Survival Hunter still could see some play because it actually is doing very good damage, it may even jump up to A, there is a small chance that we can see some buffs in the next season.
11. Frost Death Knight - B Tier
Neither of the Death Knight specs is going to be meta because they can't do a lot of damage, they're both similar, but Frost will see more play and Frost DK is the better spec. Moving into Season Two, especially with the tier set changes, which for Frost is very good, it is put one tier above Unholy
12. Unholy Death Knight - C Tier
Unholy DK is losing probably the best tier set and the test isn't quite as good, we're not seeing Unholy getting played because there aren't mass AOE or target boost, and even that part of its kit is getting changed,
13. Assassination Rogue - C Tier
The last one is Assassination Rogue, which is ranked in the C tier. It has a good set, but its kit is not near as good as Outlaw, it's focusing more on this bleed damage, you're going to be spamming crimson tempests.
