In Elden Ring, the patch 1.07 brought a lot of changes to the blood Ashes of War in the game where they had been nerfed or buffed, so here we talk about the best Blood Ashes of Wars in either PvP or Pve by ranking them.
No. 4 - Seppuku
After the 1.07 patch, Seppuku is considered the weakest blood Ash of War but it's still decent, so this one you want pale yourself for about three or four FP, and you imbue your weapon with this blood and it will actually inflict more blood loss build up. And normally it was pretty decent, but with the latest 1.07 patch, it did hit it pretty hard, so when you impale yourself with this Seppuku, you damage yourself a little bit but now that a little bit has been increased. Now the blood loss effect as well has also been reduced to where it's no longer as quick as it used to be. The palace dancing as well as that being nerfed with the blood loss build-up combined with this except because there's no really longer. A necessity to these blade-type builds being as long as the other ones have been buffed inherently makes this one worse. On top of all of, now using Seppuku a weapon that doesn't have a blade or isn't Arcane infused, it took a very long time to bleed out an enemy, so it is useless but it's only really noticeable if you have it alongside a bleed open with an occult infusion or a blade infusion and just had high Arcane.
It's still a decent option but with these changes to the other blood ashes of war, this one just became a lot worse being that you have to hit with the weapon itself and you don't really have that option to use a cool Ash of War to just do high damage and now it just takes more damage as well on top of that. So it is still a very good solid Ash of War, but compared to the blood ashes, this one is now the worst in both PVE and PVP.
No. 3 - Blood Tax
This Ash of War does a nice cool little pirouette and a bunch of repeating thrusts which is not really that great but the main drawing and selling point to this Ash of War is that it does give you health regen which is very very solid. It has just recently got a buff to where that movement speed and attack power have been increased, the HP region effect has been increased as well, and the delay between various actions has been reduced, so it's a lot more flawed when using it, and combining it between certain actions and now it feels really good. So it's a lot better than it used to be, it's a lot quicker and has lot more viable in PvP. However, you may still don't really like to use it much in PvP due to the fact that just a bunch of pokes and it's very easy to dodge being that doesn't have very good like tracking or movement while you are using it. But in PVE, it is a very solid option, probably the second best option being that you can just trade out with a lot of different enemies, and now with the Poise changes as well, you can have a lot more plays and then tank a lot more attacks and be able to trade very nicely, being that it does a lot more damage as well, so it's definitely worthwhile using this in PVE.
No. 2 - Blood Blade
This Ash of War shoots a projectile attack and you can continuously spam it over and over again for only 3 FP and a little bit of health, but the good thing about it is that you only need to use your health one time if you're going to continuously spam it, if you rest and then do it again then you have to take a little bit more damage again, but it's so minuscule that is barely even notice a lot less than what Seppuku will do. It has just recently gotten buffed to where it has more damage and it added damage detection to the weapon itself, although we don't recommend being that close and using the ash of war (you still want to use it as a projectile attack being you're not going to have high parameterizing it). It now reduced the delay between the end of various actions, so once again it feels nice and more flawed when you're using it between certain actions and attacks. With Blood Blade itself, it does very nice blood loss but also as well as doing decent damage in both PVE and PVP and being that you're going to spam for three FP cost and it does stagger enemies pretty nicely as well. Especially if the blood loss put up they're going to stagger inherently, so in both PVE and PVP, it's a very premium option.
No. 1 - Bloody Slash
it's really strong on both PvE and PvP, it does an enormous amount of damage, so what it does is that for a little bit of your health and for 6 FP you will just do this cool blood swipe attack that has a decent amount of range, relatively quick animation and it does a lot of damage. It just recently got buffed to where it does more damage, increased status effect buildup, and reduced the delay between the end of various actions. So it feels more flawed in between certain attacks. If you proc the blade alongside with attack itself, it just does an absolutely enormous amount of damage and staggers really nicely. The DPS Pro not can be that hyping that you have to keep constantly casting over and over again, the start of the animation is a bit slow compared to other Ash of War, but this is for how strong it is in both PVE and people being how much damage you can do in just one swing. If you compare it alongside other talismans that can give you health regen back based on like kills or over time, and it can counteract the damage that you do use for bloody slash but the amount of damage it can do on this thing at the output is honestly ridiculous. And it's paired nicely with a lot of different types of Arcane builds. The only downside is that you can only use it on smaller and medium swords. If you do you get a chance to use Bloody Slash and you are rocking an Arcane build definitely use it because it's very strong in both facets of the game.
