NBA 2K23 Best Starter Cards - Which Cards Should You Choose To Start NBA 2K23?

9/2/2022 3:58:08 PM

Today we're going to be talking about one of the most important decisions you will make in NBA 2K23 MyTeam - who your starter will be & who should run your squad when season 1 starts. As we know, there are three pretty strong players to choose as starter cards, in this guide, we discuss the positives and the negatives of both of these cards and which ones could go for NBA 23 start.

NBA 2K23 Best Starter Cards - Which Starter Card Should You Pick In NBA 2K23 MyTeam

Every NBA 2K MyTEAM Season kicks off with the Starter Cards, and this year is no different, 2K23 will give you free card to start with. At three different positions, these starter cards will likely be the best card in your lineup for at least a few days, Ja Morant, Joel Embiid, and Jimmy Butler. Take a look at their abilities and make a decision on which starter card should you pick in NBA 2K23 MyTeam!

Starter Card Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid should be a solid center, he should be a 67 to 73-point shooting center. As a ruby cards in previous years, he's goten a couple of gold badges which once he went in beats because he was an amethyst in MyTeam series 1. So if you look at a series one card, he had a 78 shot 3pt. So Embiid could be a big body that can like spread the floor, he could be a very effective player. He’s got a B overall grade to inside scoring. His strength will allow him to back down smaller centers as well. With a post defense of B+ and a rebounding grade of B, he might be the best NBA 2K23 MyTEAM starter.

Ja Morant

If you want a rim running PG who can drive to the basket at a hopefully efficient rate, go for Ja Morant, good speed for the beginning of the game. Morant can set a fast-paced and transition-based offense for you. He's also a high-flying dunker who goes up strong. However, his shooting and defensive abilities leave much to be desired even at the Ruby grade.

Jimmy Butler

If you want that solid wing shooter who can lock up, you go Jimmy Butler. He’s a defensive wing who will get you stops early on. Will be helpful in TTO and TT and can do a bit of everything on the court. The problem with Jimmy Butler is that lower overall, Jimmy gets screwed on the three ball. It's not like Jimmy is a shooter but like Jimmy's lower overall cards probably will have a max 70. You're looking probably in the 60s for Jimmy Butler, so the only thing we have to look at is alternatives.

Rick Smith

So we already have that 7’4’’ giant in the game and depending on how interior game is, a lot of people are saying post game is op and the only thing with post game being op is it's very hard to tell when non-skilled players are playing the game, what they mean by post game is op are hooks and fade aways op again. If that's op, then we're going to see Joel Embiid in a better situation, but if by paint being op that means a giant player scoring over everybody. That means you're going to see Rick Smith bully everybody on the floor, he is going to be a straight up bully. So that's one of the things with Joel Embiid is like if you don't plan using your starters, do you plan on using like amethyst cards day one does it really matter who you pick but the fact that rick smith's is probably going to be cheap, he's already 3-4k MT and he's gonna probably bully.
