What is Diablo 2 Resurrected Flickering Flame Runeword?

To create the D2R Flickering Flame rune word, you need Nef + Pul + Vex. Fire classes and their Mercenaries can benefit greatly from this item due to its Resist Fire aura, boosts to Fire skills, and other defensive features that make enemies less effective at resisting Fire.

What is the Best Build for D2R Flickering Flame?

As of level 55, you can make use of Flickering Flame. Up to max level, it is suggested for Fire damage oriented setups. It's a solid option for many builds thanks to the significant damage increase and solid defensive benefits. Those builds that aren't as focused on Fire Damage could benefit from a +2 All Skills Helm, which trades off slightly less Fire Damage for more utility.

The Fire Druid's build is optimal for maximizing the benefits of Flickering Flame. This build would benefit greatly from a helm like the Druid Pelt, which grants +3 to Fissure and Volcano and increases the build's base bonus to six. The combined effects of this and the reduced enemy resistance will result in a significant boost in damage. We can't stress the importance of this enough.

How to Craft D2R Flickering Flame Runeword?

The table below details where the Countess Rune and other necessary runes can be found as loot from normal monsters and containers, as well as the locations of any relevant missions. You may find the Countess in the Black Marsh, on the fifth floor of the Forgotten Tower.

  • Nef - Act 2 Normal, Normal Hellforge, Countess in all difficulties;

  • Pul - Act 4 Nightmare, Nightmare & Hell Hellforge, Countess in Hell;

  • Vex - Act 1 Hell.

The Hellforge quest in Hell cannot drop Vex runes because it only has a 1 in 11 chance to drop Gul Rune Gul Rune, the lowest possible rune. If you have two Gul runes, you can use the Horadric Cube to transform them into a Vex Rune. The Hellforge quest is helpful for obtaining the runes for Flickering Flame because it has a possibility to drop a Pul rune (with a 1 in 11 chance) on both Nightmare and Hell difficulty.
