Advanced Excavating (Archaeology) Guide - Best Excavating Tools & Locations For More Minigame Rewards

3/8/2022 11:02:34 AM

Welcome to our advanced LSOT AK excavating guide, this is a guide to help you to understand what is archaeology in the game, and what you should and should not be doing for getting better excavating tool bonuses and archaeology reward drop rate.

LSOT AK Excavating Trade Skill Basic Explain

First, let's go over the basics of the excavation:

Excavating Skills

When you look at the archaeology skills, there are five skills: two actives, two passives, and one trash:

  • Lv. 1: Relic Search & Sonar - When you use your first skill, you will notice a small circle floating on your head, next thing you have to do is walk around with it, then when you're near the excavation site, your circle's color and sound will change. Then you use your second skill and press G to dig it up. When you hit up the ground, you will get passive stacks.

  • Lv. 10: Loot Hunter - The third passive spawns a treasure chest after you dig out the ground, the chest contains the basic materials on top of that you will get this toolkit to craft your life skill tools. The only difference between the treasure chest you can find on the field and one in the map is that the one from the field you won't get these items to boost up your enhancement chances.

  • Lv. 20: Excavation - Once you reach the max stack of 5, the next excavation will bring up the mini-game, this minigame is the most important part of the archaeology since you're going to get a lot of materials out of it. By doing basic archaeology, you will get three materials. With these, you can either choose to make the crystals that you need for enhancement or you can make a map. However when you make the map, you only need the green and the blue material, therefore you can just simply sell the white one for LSOT AK gold. When you use the treasure map, it'll tell you where the secret dungeon is all you have to do is just simply go in and go to the end of the map open the chest and get up.

  • Lv. 30: Sniffer Dog -The reason why we call the fifth skill trash is because it doubles the energy you require to dig up the ground, however, it does not affect the mini-game at all. Since the main source of income from archaeology is through the mini-game, we don't see the point of using the skill at all.

Two Main Excavating Active Skills:

  • Loot Hunter perk - The first passive skill which gives us a chance to spawn a treasure chest after digging up a ground

  • Excavation - The second passive skill allows us to do a mini game after having five stacks

How To Craft Excavation Tools in LSOT AK?

1. Materials For Excavating Tools

For multiple Excavating Tool craft recipes, five materials are required:

  • - Crafting Kits

  • - Tool Crafting Part

  • - Strong Iron Ore

  • - Ancient Relic

  • - Rare Relic

2. Steps To Craft Excavating Tools:

In order to craft the tools, you have to buy the recipes from the merchant in your Stronghold, you trade your adventure sale and buy the appropriate recipe and register, then you will see the option of crafting these items in your stronghold crafting window.

  • - In your Stronghold, speak with Jeniff.

  • - Purchase Excavating Tools craft recipes with Adventurer's Seals. There are numerous pages of things to purchase, so you'll need to explore the UI.

  • - In the Workshop, make the tools for your Stronghold. You'll need ingredients and Craft Kits to make these, as stated in the Loot Hunter Skill Explained section.

  • - Crafting tools of higher rarity will increase your chances of getting good bonuses.

Best LSOT AK Excavating Tools (Stat Bonuses) To Craft

You should have a pretty good understanding of what to do with the materials you get, what to craft. In the below section, we are going to focus more about technical stuff or tips:

What Kind of Stats is Good for Excavation Tools?

These are the main stats you want from 2 different tools:

Main Stats of Stacking Tools:

  • - The first stat to have is Super Armor. Your main source of income from excavation is from mini-game for the stacking tool, and you want to use them for basically getting stacks from minigame. With super armor, you don't get interrupted while excavating.

  • - Other Good Stats to have on top of super armor are basic reward drop, rare material drop or gathering speed increase.

Main Stats of Minigame Tools

  • - For the minigame tool, these two are the must: mini-game reward acquisition probability and mini-game difficulty (increase the amount you get from the mini game).

  • - Because while you're doing the minigame, you're actually invincible, even though without super armor, you do not get interrupted nor get damaged while you do the minigame

  • - Another misbelief is that having a basic reward or rare material acquisition rate increases your reward for a mini-game. Because the only thing that affects the minigame or the reward from the minigame is the mini game difficulty and mini game reward acquisition rate.

Why Do You Need Two Different Excavating Tools?

These are the benefit of separating tools:

  • 1. Repair Cost - When you repair your life skill tools, your max durability has a chance to go down. In order to repair this, you need to either buy the restoration kit from the Murray shop or craft yourself from your stronghold. For each max durability you repair, you will need three of these restoration tools for each max durability point for an epic tool, four for a legendary, and five for relics.  Let's say the max durability of your legendary tool is at 50. In order to repair your tool back to 100 max durability, you will need 200 of these and it'll cost you 260 blue crystals, this gets costly over time and that's why you want to separate your tools for stacking and minigame.

  • 2.  Chance - Also, it is kind of difficult to have super armor minigame difficulty as well as mini game reward all in the one tool, so having two different tools increases the chance of getting what you want ideally. You want to have epic or lower for stacking tool, and legendary or relic for the minigame. However we do not recommend using relic since it's too risky - there's a total of eight stats you can get this means there's a chance that you will get random combinations of useless stats and lose tens of thousands of gold.

So now with these two tools, you want to build five stacks with the stacking tool and change them into minigame tool and finish the minigame. When you're stacking tools max durability goes down too low, what you want to do is just simply throw out and build a new one, this is why we said having that durability non-reduction stud is good to have on your mini game tool. So it costs less since you don't have to repair your max durability as often as not having it over time.

Here are More Excavating Tips (Locations) To Help You Get More Rewards:

1. If possible try to use the purple excavation on your mini game, the amount of reward you get is much higher than using it on the green one

2. When you make a mistake on your minigame, you can simply get out and retry by pressing the escape button, you can't do the minigame on the same spot right away, you either have to find another one or wait till it disappears then use relic search to do the minigame again. But be aware of your remaining time on your stacks.

3. Here are some locations that you can use while you do excavation:

  • For tier 2, go to the Azure Wind Island and the system for the excavation sites

  • For tier 3, go to Niheltalop's Thoughts island, this is the map board excavation site
