These experimental ascendancies bring unique mechanics that could open up new build possibilities. Harbinger Ascendancy - Potential Builds

The Harbinger Ascendancy introduces a time-manipulating, spell-heavy playstyle, featuring cooldown reduction, energy shield recovery, and unique Harbinger summons that grant buffs. These summoned allies provide various bonuses, which could lead to powerful synergies with certain builds. If you enjoy hex-based builds, channeling mechanics, or cooldown-based spellcasting, Harbinger offers intriguing possibilities.

1. Cooldown Recovery & Energy Shield Efficiency

+40% Cooldown Recovery Rate

• A rare and powerful stat, useful for cast-on-crit, self-cast spell triggers, or cooldown-based skills like Hexblast, Fire Burst, or Impending Doom. 

• Helps reach breakpoints for skills that rely on internal cooldowns.

30% Increased Energy Shield and Mana Recovery Rate

• Supports Mana-based casters and ES-based defenses, though its overall impact is moderate.

2. Summoned Harbingers & Their Buffs

Harbinger of Time (from Torrance Reclamation belt)

• Grants 10% increased action speed (similar to Tailwind).

• By default, it has 80% uptime, but this can be improved with "Buffs on You Expire 30% Slower" from this tree.

Harbinger of Focus (from Immortal Will shield)

• While channeling, grants stun immunity, 20% damage reduction, and ailment immunity.

• Works well with Cyclone, Incinerate, or Winter Orb.

Harbinger of Arcane (from Surging Thoughts staff)

• Provides Arcane Surge, Shock Chance, and Lightning Penetration.

• Could be useful for Arc-based builds or hybrid melee/spell setups.

100% Increased Area of Effect for Hex Skills

Temporal Chains Has No Reservation If Cast as an Aura

• Perfect for Hexblast builds, allowing Blasphemy to reserve nothing.

• Works well for curse-stacking strategies, enabling larger hex overlaps.

4. Channeling-Based Benefits

Immune to Curses, Unaffected by Chill & Shock While Channeling

• Ideal for self-cast channelers like Cyclone, Divine Ire, or Winter Orb.

Buffs Expire 30% Slower / Debuffs Expire 30% Faster

• Helps extend uptime of Harbinger buffs, defensive buffs, or offensive bursts.

Potential Best Harbinger Builds in PoE 1 LoP

• Hexblast Harbinger – Taking advantage of CDR and curse scaling to maximize overlaps.

• Impending Doom Harbinger – With increased cooldown recovery and larger curse radius, Doom Blast can hit multiple times per second.

• Cyclone/Stormburst Channeling Build – Permanent immunity to ailments and stuns plus damage reduction while channeling.

The Harbinger ascendancy is shaping up to be a strong option for spell-heavy, cooldown-dependent builds. While it might not compete with top-tier ascendancies in raw power, it offers unique mechanics and flexibility for creative builds.

Gambler Ascendancy - Potential Builds

For those who love high-risk, high-reward gameplay, the Gambler ascendancy brings randomized mechanics that can lead to huge damage spikes or massive defensive risks. If you enjoy rolling the dice on your damage, defenses, and critical strikes, this class offers an exciting playstyle.

Key Passive Nodes & Their Effects

1. Luck-Based Block Mechanics

Heads: Spell Block is Lucky; Attack Block is Unlucky.

Tails: Attack Block is Lucky; Spell Block is Unlucky.

Synergizes well with Saffell's Frame (Spell Block Focus) or Gladiator Block Nodes.

2. Elemental Resistance Manipulation

Risky Exploit:

• -25% to Elemental Resistances (manageable with gear).

• 50% chance for resistances to count as 90% against hits. (Not DOTs!)

• Can be paired with Replica Loreweave or Kiara’s Bluster for better uptime.

Reversed Odds:

• 50% chance to invert enemy Elemental Resistances.

• Similar to the Inquisitor’s “Inevitable Judgment” but applies more broadly.

• Extremely powerful for Elemental Hit, Trinity, or mixed-element builds.

3. Damage Variance Mechanics

Spectacular Parlay:

• Critical Strike Chance is Lucky, Damage Rolls are Unlucky.

• Works well with Winds of Fate (staff that forces all crits but negates non-crit damage).

• Avoids using Lightning Damage due to wide damage variance.

Growing Accumulator:

• 15% chance to deal Triple Damage, 30% chance to deal Double Damage.

• However, all hits deal 25% less base damage.

• Strong synergy with ailments like Shock (but NOT Ignite or Poison).

4. Defensive Gambling

Overly Confident:

• 50% Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments & Stuns.

• Pair with Stormshroud Jewel to become completely ailment immune.

Risk Aversion:

• Damage taken from hits is Unlucky while on Low Life.

• Great for Low Life builds using Prism Guardian & Shavronne’s Wrappings.

Potential Best Gambler Builds in PoE 1 LoP

• Flicker Strike Gambler – The randomized damage spikes suit fast-paced melee builds that rely on constant hits.

• Cyclone Crit Build – Lucky crits combined with sporadic high damage rolls could lead to huge burst potential.

• Low-Life Tank Build – Using Progenesis and Petrified Blood alongside "Enemies hitting you are unlucky", reducing the effectiveness of enemy damage rolls.

While The Gambler offers high damage potential, the randomized defensive mechanics may make it too unreliable for hardcore or endgame bossing. However, for those who enjoy chaotic, unpredictable playstyles, this ascendancy could be a fun and unique challenge.
