What to do after level 60 for endgame gear and power up in Diablo 4 Season 6 Vessel of Hatred?  In this D4 guide, we’ll walk through what you should focus on after hitting level 60 to maximize your character’s potential in the Season 6 Vessel of Hatred!

What To Do After Level 60 for Endgame Gearing & Power Up in Diablo 4 Season 6 Vessel of Hatred?

Once you've reached level 60 in Diablo 4 Season 6 and chosen your build, it's time to focus on maximizing your character's potential. Whether you’re aiming to jump into higher Pit levels, farm for powerful gear, or just become overpowered (OP), this guide will walk you through the key aspects of endgame farming and power progression.

Step 1: Master Tempering and Affix Re-Rolling

Once you’ve hit level 60 and chosen your build (from the many guides available), the first thing you’ll be doing is tempering and affix re-rolling on your gear. This will be a key part of your journey through the endgame, as it’s unlikely you’ll always get the perfect gear with ideal rolls right away.

Tempering allows you to add or change affixes on your gear. These affixes are often game-changing and can enable your build to reach its full potential. For example, the Quill Volley Spiritborn build benefits greatly from affixes like barrier generation, resource generation, and resolve stacks.

You typically get 5-6 rolls on a piece of gear before being locked out. If you get a good item but with one bad affix, you can use a Scroll of Restoration. These scrolls drop frequently in higher-tier Pit levels and reset your tempering attempts without affecting the affixes you’ve already applied.

Step 2: Masterworking Your Gear

After you’ve tempered your gear, the next step is masterworking. This involves upgrading your gear’s stats and is crucial for pushing into higher difficulties, such as Torment Tier 3 and above.

Aim to get 4/8 masterworking levels on most of your legendary gear and 8/8 on your weapon. This will boost your passive stats by 5% per level, including affixes like dexterity, max life, crowd control, and barrier generation.

Every fourth masterworking level (i.e., 4. 8. 12) gives a 25% boost to one of the random stats, so upgrading is essential for maximizing your build’s potential.

Step 3: Efficient Farming for Obsidian and Ether

To masterwork your gear and roll affixes efficiently, you’ll need a lot of Obsidian. Here are the three best farming methods:

Infernal Hordes (6-Wave Version): These are fast and efficient for farming Obsidian. You can convert Ether into Obsidian, with 199 Ether translating to almost 2.000 Obsidian from the cache of materials.

Ether Exploit (Torment Tier 4): You can use an exploit involving Ether to farm thousands of Obsidian quickly. Set the difficulty to Torment Tier 4. leave Ether on the ground during runs, and pick them up one by one to reopen the chest multiple times. Each Ether can yield 320 Obsidian.

Nightmare Dungeons: These take about 2-3 minutes and can net you around 400 Obsidian per run, depending on events and enemy drops.

Step 4: Salvaging & Rune Crafting

Salvage old masterworked items: Instead of selling items you’ve invested resources in, salvage them to reclaim some of the Obsidian you spent.

Rune Crafting: Runes are a big part of becoming OP in Season 6. You can craft runes by combining three to get one random rune. There’s an 85% chance you’ll get a rune of the same level and a 15% chance of getting an upgrade. Make sure to stash your important runes to avoid accidentally reforging them.

Step 5: Farming for Ancestral Items

As you progress into higher Torment tiers, you’ll want to start farming for Ancestral Items, which provide several benefits over regular legendaries:

  • Higher base stats (iLevel 800 vs. 750).

  • Higher rolled affix percentages.

  • Greater Affixes (GA): These affixes have a 1.5x multiplier, making them extremely valuable.

Ancestral items can drop from higher Pit levels, Uber bosses, and other endgame activities.

Step 6: Farming Uber Bosses

For high-tier runes and mythical uniques, you’ll want to focus on Uber bosses like Duriel, Andariel, and others. Farming these bosses in parties is a great way to increase your chances of getting mythical items and legendaries. Additionally, using the Party Finder or joining groups helps rotate boss summons for efficient farming.

Step 7: Using Tree of Whisper Caches

Here’s a quick tip: Stop using Tree of Whisper caches on your main character. Instead, save them and open them on a low-level character. This trick allows you to get endgame items with greater affixes even at low levels, fast-tracking your new characters.

Create a new character, open the caches, and you’ll start getting XP globes and endgame gear as early as level 23. This is a great way to gear up a new character quickly.

Step 8: Using Tributes and Mercs Effectively

Tributes: Use your Tributes of Harmony early on. Don’t wait until Torment Tier 4 to use them; the loot quality doesn’t change much between tiers. You’ll get about the same amount of mythical and ancestral uniques in Torment 2 as you would in Torment 4.

Mercs: Always use the Restock Supply button (it’s free!) to get extra legendary items or summoning materials. Level up your mercs to maximize the number of items they offer.

Step 9: Glyph Upgrades & Pit Runs

To maximize your glyph upgrades, follow these rules:

Always be 10 levels higher than your glyph to get at least a +1 upgrade.

For a +2 upgrade, stay 20 levels higher. For a +3 upgrade, stay 40 levels higher.

Pit runs are essential for upgrading your glyphs and farming for Obols, which you can use to gamble for more legendaries and ancestrals.

Step 10: Mythical Uniques and Resplendent Sparks

Finally, to craft Mythical Uniques, you’ll need to collect Resplendent Sparks. You can get one from completing the Seasonal Journey and another from killing your first Uber boss.

Once you have two sparks, don’t craft a random mythical item. Instead, bring them to the Jeweler and craft the specific mythical item you need. This will save you from wasting resources on items you don’t need.

That’s it! Follow these steps, and you’ll be well on your way to becoming OP in Diablo 4 Season 6.
