Season 5 of Diablo 4 is upon us, and after extensive playtesting and feedback from the Public Test Realm (PTR), we have compiled a new Diablo 4 Season 5 tier list. This guide ranks each class/build from best to worst based on their performance in both leveling and endgame content.
In Diablo 4 Season 5, the class balance has seen significant shifts, with Rogues and Barbs emerging as the top contenders, each boasting multiple strong builds and impressive versatility. Rogues, in particular, shine with a variety of viable builds, while Barbs benefit from powerful key passives and aspects. Necromancers have one standout build with Bone Spirit, but other builds lag behind due to nerfs. Druids are in the middle, showing strength with Landslide and Companion builds but still needing tweaks for better balance. Sorcerers, unfortunately, remain at the bottom, struggling with overall damage output and reliance on specific mechanics. For leveling, Rogues and Barbs are the top-tier choices, followed by Druids, Necromancers, and lastly Sorcerers. In the endgame, Bone Spirit Necromancers might dominate in raw power, but Rogues and Barbs offer more consistent and diverse options, with Druids being solid but less versatile, and Sorcerers needing significant buffs to compete. The upcoming unique item reworks could potentially shift this balance further.
1. Rogue
Rogues take the top spot due to their exceptional versatility and the variety of viable builds available. Season 5 introduces new items like the Shroud of Canduras, which provides powerful immunity and crowd control features, enhancing the Rogue's already impressive toolkit. The reworked Momentum and Trick Attacks build offer solid damage and energy management, while the Umbral Crux opens up unique build possibilities despite some initial bugs. Overall, Rogues excel in both single-target and AOE scenarios, maintaining their position as the most well-rounded and powerful class.

D4 S5 Best Rogue Builds: Pen Shot Rogue, Rapid Fire Rogue, Victimize Heartseeker Rogue, Andariel Rogue, Flurry Rogue
2. Barbarian
Barbarians hold the second rank thanks to their immense power and survivability driven by key passives like Gushing Wounds, which significantly boosts their damage output. The class benefits from the third blade's fun and potent death blow build and remains tanky with the Perma Immortality defensive capabilities. However, the reliance on the four-weapon system and some overpowered aspects require balancing tweaks. Despite these needed adjustments, Barbarians continue to dominate with their raw strength and diverse build options, making them a formidable force in Season 5.

D4 S5 Best Barb Builds: Bunny Hop Barb, Direct Bash Barb, Flay Bleed Barb, Bleed WW Barb, Thorns Barb, Deathblow Barb, HotA Barb, Dust Devil Double Swing Barb, Twisting Blade Rogue
3. Necromancer
Necromancers secure the third spot primarily due to the overwhelming power of the Bone Spirit build, which stands out as possibly the strongest build in the game. However, the class struggles with balance issues, as other potential builds like blood and minion-focused setups underperform significantly. The new mobility aspects provide a much-needed improvement in gameplay feel, but the overall lack of viable key passives and the heavy reliance on Bone Spirit for competitive play hold Necromancers back from ranking higher. Necromancers need further adjustments to bring more balance and diversity to their build options.

D4 S5 Best Necro Builds: Bone Spirit Necromancer, Bone Spear Necro, Shadow Minion Necro, Lazymancer
4. Druid
Druids rank fourth, showcasing improved viability and tankiness with significant buffs to core skills and overall durability. Top builds like Landslide and companion-focused setups are particularly powerful, but the class still suffers from a lack of build diversity. Issues with shapeshifting mechanics and the dominance of poison-related passives limit the potential for varied and interesting builds. Despite these challenges, Druids have become more competitive, and new items like the Gloaming Veil open exciting possibilities for unique playstyles, though further tuning is required to elevate the class further.

D4 S5 Best Druid Builds: Landslide Druid, Pulverize Druid, Wind Shear Druid, Wolf Companion Druid, Cataclysm Druid, Werenado Druid, Hurricane Druid
5. Sorcerer
Sorcerers are currently the weakest class in Season 5, struggling with low damage output and heavy reliance on specific gear and mechanics to perform well. Items like the Axial Conduit and Wakizashi Omnium fail to make significant impacts, while the promising Lightning Spear build is hindered by targeting issues. Despite improvements in survivability, the class lacks diverse and powerful build options, with outdated enchantments and key passives needing major overhauls. Sorcerers require significant buffs across the board to compete with other classes and rise from the bottom of the rankings.
