It's been a pretty long time since we have new content coming to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall is coming on March 26. Read our WotLK Classic Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall event guide 2024, we'll talk about the locations, bosses, drops and tips.

Wotlk Classic Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall Event Guide 2024

Operation Gnomeregan is an Alliance event led by High Tinker Mekkatorque to help the gnomes reclaim their city of Gnomeregan from the Troggs. Players can aid the gnomes in their efforts.  Zalazane's Fall is a Horde event led by Vol'jin to retake the Echo Isles from the witch doctor Zalazane and help the Darkspear tribe reclaim their homeland. Players can aid the trolls. There will also be increased loot drops in WotLK dungeons and raids during this time, including guaranteed shards and tokens from Icecrown Citadel bosses.

Alliance players will heed the call of high Tinker Mekkatorque in Operation Gnomeregan and members of the Horde will be called to Vol’jin’s inside as he sets his sights on Zalazane and the Echo Isles. Join the assault and represent your faction with pride during these events.

Wotlk Classic Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall Event Bosses

For Operation Gnomeregan (Alliance):

Thermaplugg is the leader of the troggs that have taken over Gnomeregan. Players will likely face him as the final boss. Battling enemy forces at the airfield, surface command post, and in the tunnels of lower Gnomeregan. So there would presumably be bosses or elite enemies in these locations.

For Zalazane's Fall (Horde):

The main target is Zalazane, who is the "twisted witch doctor" that has cursed the Darkspear trolls. So he would likely be the final boss. Battling the "hexed Darkspears" that are under Zalazane's control on the Echo Isles.

Wotlk Classic Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall Event Loots & Drops

To celebrate the launch of Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall and the coming of Cataclysm Classic, they've made several limited-time adjustments to Defense Protocol: Gamma dungeons as well as the acquisition rate of Heroic tier tokens in 25-player Icecrown Citadel. There are also additional limited-time adjustments to the acquisition rates of Fragments of Val'anyr and Shadowfrost Shards in Ulduar and Icecrown Citadel, respectively.  All Defense Protocol Gamma bosses now drop 2 Defiler's Scourgestones (up from 1.) Here are the changes players can expect:

• All Icecrown Citadel 25-player Normal and Heroic bosses are now guaranteed to drop 1 Shadowfrost Shard.

• All Icecrown Citadel 25-player Normal and Heroic end wing bosses and The Lich King now drop 2 guaranteed Shadowfrost Shards (up from 1.)

• All Icecrown Citadel 25-player Heroic end wing bosses now drop one additional Heroic tier token.

• The Lich King now drops 2 additional Heroic tier tokens on 25-player Heroic difficulty.

• All "Hard Mode" encounters in the 25-player version of Ulduar are now guaranteed to drop 1 Fragment of Val'anyr. Please note that Algalon and "Zero Light" Yogg-Saron are unchanged and drop the same number of Fragments as they did previously as they were already very generous with their Fragment drops. These changes will take effect with each region's regularly occurring maintenance beginning the week of March 26 and will remain in place until the end of the Cataclysm Classic pre-patch period.

Wotlk Classic Operation Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall Event Tips

Be at least level 75-80 to participate in the main attacks on Gnomeregan and Echo Isles. Group up with other players to complete objectives and take on bosses/elites.

Operation Gnomeregan (Alliance):

• Help motivate gnomes in Tinker Town with the Motivate-a-Tron device.

• Complete Captain Sparknozzle's training at Steelgrill's Depot.

• Assist Pilot Muzzlesprock with bombing runs to disable irradiation vents.

• Help Toby Zeigear write High Tinker Mekkatorque's battle cry.

• Stay with Mekkatorque and Doc Cogspin for protection against Thermaplugg's propaganda bots.

• Focus down Thermaplugg in the lower regions to claim victory.

Zalazane's Fall (Horde):

• Collect frogs for Vanira's rituals to potentially rain them upon enemies.

• Train with Champion Uru'zin to build strength.

• Assist Hez'tok in ceremonial rituals to gain the spirits' blessing.

• Fight alongside Vol'jin in the assault on Zalazane's forces on the Echo Isles.

• Focus fire on Zalazane himself to drive him from the Echo Isles.
