WoW SoD Phase 2 Runes Locations & Farming Guide

With Phase 2 of the WoW Season of Discovery launched, all classes have the opportunity to discover new runes that can enhance their abilities and playstyle. These runes can be found throughout Azeroth, and here we update the WoW SoD Phase 2 runes locations to help you target farm specific ones faster and easier!

WoW SoD Phase 2 Mage Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Spellfrost Bolt Rune

1. Head to Stranglethorn Vale, specifically outside of Zul'Gurub.

2. Look for the Skullsplitter Mystic mob which drops the Spellfrost Bolt Rune. The approximate coordinates are /way 47 34.

3. Be aware that the Skullsplitter Mystic has many spawn points and may be located among other Skullsplitter mobs, so you might need to search the area to find one.

Frostfire Bolt Rune

1. Travel to Stranglethorn Vale, and navigate to the area outside of Zul'Gurub.

2. Locate the Skullsplitter Mystic mobs in this region. The Frostfire Bolt Rune drops from these mobs, and their approximate coordinates are /way 47 34.

3. Be prepared for a search, as the Skullsplitter Mystic has various spawn points within the area and is mixed in with other Skullsplitter tribe mobs.

Hot Streak Rune

1. Travel to the Alterac Mountains region.

2. Locate and kill Syndicate Thieves around the coordinates /way 58.8 67.0 until you obtain the Hot Streak Rune.

3. Go to Strahnbrad, to the Blacksmith Forge located at approximately /way 60.0 46.4.

4. Once at the forge, use a Fire spell like Flamestrike to ignite each of the two bellows attached to the outside of the forge until they glow red and are flaming.

5. After both bellows are aflame, an Animated Forge will spawn.

6. Defeat the Animated Forge to loot the Hot Streak Rune.

Missile Barrage Rune

1. Start in Deadwind Pass: Go to Ariden's Camp at the coordinates /way #1430 52 35 and speak with the NPC to receive a Ariden's Sigil.

2. Equip the Ariden's Sigil: You must have this or be in a group with someone who has it equipped to find and kill seven Dark Riders, each dropping a unique Dalaran Relic.

3. Find Dark Riders and Collect Relics: Use the Dalaran Wizard's Robe to summon and kill the Dark Riders in the following locations:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29 for the Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47 for the Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28 for the Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: /way #1417 60 40 for the Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: /way #1418 58 54 for the Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: /way #1413 52 36 for the Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: /way #1443 65 25 for the Creepy Dalaran Relic.

4. Return to NPC: Once you have all the Dalaran Relics, go back to the NPC at /way #1430 52 35 in Deadwind Pass and turn in the various reward quests for experience and silver. At max level, you will be rewarded with .

5. Complete the Final Quest: After returning all seven Dalaran Relics, the NPC will offer a quest that rewards the and contains the Missile Barrage Rune inside.

Brain Freeze Rune

1. Desolace: Start the quest chain by obtaining the quest from an NPC northwest of the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace at /way 47 54.

2. Desolace: Proceed to /way 63 39, near Kormek's Hut. Turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the follow-up quest.

3. Booty Bay: Go to the inn in Booty Bay and turn in the quest. Purchase Cherry Grog for the NPC there, and she will give you the next part of your quest.

4. Arathi Highlands: Find the boat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore. Locate Illari Duskfeather and engage with her. Most races will need to choose one of the hostile dialogue options and defeat her in combat. After the fight, pick up the bag she drops and loot the key from it. Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue option that avoids the fight and allows them to receive the key directly. Open the chest with the key to obtain the Brain Freeze Rune.

5. Looting the Rune: Use the key you obtained from Illari Duskfeather to open the chest and loot the Brain Freeze Rune.

Spell Power Rune

1. 2. Collect Books: There are 24 books in total. If you have not already done so, start by collecting the 10 books needed for the Icy Veins rune. You can use the Mage Book Tracker addon to keep track of the books you've read.

New Book Locations for Phase 2: In addition to the books from Phase 1, there are 8 new books introduced in Phase 2 that you can find at the following locations:

Kalimdor

Desolace: /way 55.0, 28.0

Dustwallow Marsh: /way 57.0, 21.0

3. Swamp of Sorrows: Farm Lost Ones for a cage key. The book is in a cage at /way 61.0, 22.0

Read Books: Find and read these books. You need to read a total of 20 out of the 24 available to acquire the Spell Power Rune.

4. Hand in Books: After collecting and reading the required books, hand them into the librarian NPC to receive your Spell Power Rune.

Chronostatic Preservation Rune

1. Collect Cooling Debri: You will need to gather 3 sets of Cooling Debri by using ice spells such as Frostbolt or Ice Lance on scorched mobs in Thousand Needles. You can find these mobs at the following coordinates:

3. Near the Great Lift, /way 24.0 23.6 (Note: the cat here is caged; you'll need a key from any Galak Mauler to open it)

Around /way 11.2 39.8

4. Combine Spell Notes: After collecting the Cooling Debri from the mobs, you need to combine them to receive the rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Paladin Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Enlightened Judgements Rune

1. Collect Tarnished Prayer Beads: These beads are known to drop from various humanoid mobs in the Eastern Kingdoms, such as Syndicate rogues, Witherbark Medicine Men, different types of Dark Iron Dwarves, and Boulderfist Ogres.

2. Purify the Beads: Each bead requires a specific action to purify it into a Divine Prayer Bead:

Prayer Bead I: Purify by casting Blessing of Might and killing an enemy.

Prayer Bead II: Purify by casting Divine Shield when you have less than 10% health.

Prayer Bead III: Purify by using Hand of Reckoning with Judgment on a fleeing enemy.

3. Turn in the Beads: After purifying all three beads, go to Brother Atticus, who is located over the bridge that leads to the First Aid book vendor, Deneb Walker, in Stromgarde Keep at /way 27.1 56.9 to exchange the beads for the rune.

Sheath of Light Rune

1. Start at Mannoroc Cove in Desolace: Locate a Hammer on the ground at coordinates (52.6, 84.8) and begin the associated quest. Fight nearby Burning Blade Summoners to collect the required Inert Residue.

2. Visit Stormwind Cathedral: Turn in the quest to Katherine the Pure at coordinates (37.8, 31.6) in Stormwind. Follow her directions for the next step in the quest chain, which involves learning about the importance of the hammer.

3. Go to Menethil Harbor in Wetlands: Speak with Harold Riggs on the docks. There have been reports of a progression-blocking bug here, so be aware.

4. Travel to Newman's Landing in Dun Morogh: Swim south from Wetlands along the coast until you reach Newman's Landing at coordinates (18.0, 74.5). Look for the body of a fallen crusader and defeat the ambushers that appear. Pick up the Light-Infused Artifact and accept the next quest.

5. Return to Katherine the Pure in Stormwind: After collecting the artifact, go back to Katherine the Pure to continue the quest chain.

6. Defeat High Inquisitor Whitemane in the Scarlet Monastery Cathedral: Gain access to her chambers and locate the Light-Warded Prism.

7. Complete the final quest with Katherine the Pure: Once you have the prism, return to Katherine in Stormwind to turn in the quest and learn the Sheath of Light Rune.

Infusion of Light Rune

1. Start the Quest: Travel to Deadwind Pass and speak with the NPC at Ariden's Camp (/way #1430 52 35). They will give you a quest to start the process.

2. Collect Dalaran Relics: With the quest item equipped, or while with another player who has it equipped, find and kill seven Dark Riders Elites after using a specific emote to them, which will reward you with a different Dalaran Relic. You can find the Dark Riders in the following locations:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29, drops Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47, drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28, drops Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: /way #1417 60 40, drops Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: /way #1418 58 54, drops Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: /way #1413 52 36, drops Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: /way #1443 65 25, drops Creepy Dalaran Relic.

3. Return with the Relics: After collecting all seven Dalaran Relics, return to the NPC in Deadwind Pass and turn in the various reward quests for experience and some silver. At max level, each quest rewards a set amount of silver.

4. Receive the Final Quest: Once all seven Dalaran Relics have been returned, the NPC will offer the final quest, which rewards the Infusion of Light Rune.

Guarded by the Light Rune

1. Travel to Alterac Mountains: Head to the Ruins of Alterac and look for a skeleton on the south-facing wall.

Loot the Aged Rune: Click on the skeleton to loot the Aged Rune.

2. Use Divine Intervention: Cast Divine Intervention on another player. This spell requires you to know it (a level 30 spell) and to have a Symbol of Divinity reagent.

3. Get Resurrected: You will need the cooperation of another healer who can resurrect you after you have used Divine Intervention.

4. Learn the New Rune: Once you are resurrected, you will learn the new Guarded by the Light Rune.

Sacred Shield Rune

1. Visit Nijel's Point in Desolace: Head to Desolace and go to Nijel's Point (/way 66.5 7.6).

2. Loot the Weathered Relic: Find a book on the bench inside the building at Nijel's Point and loot the Weathered Relic from it.

3. Use Blessing of Freedom: With the Weathered Relic equipped, use your Blessing of Freedom spell to free others from movement impairing effects five times.

4. Right-Click the Weathered Relic: After using Blessing of Freedom five times, right-click the equipped Weathered Relic to learn the Sacred Shield Rune.

The Art of War Rune

1. Start in Desolace: Obtain the initial quest in Desolace at a signpost northwest of the Kodo Graveyard (/way 47 54).

2. Visit Bibbly F'utzbuckle: Go to /way 63 39, near Kormek's Hut in Desolace. Turn in the initial quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the follow-up quest.

3. Proceed to Booty Bay: Travel to the inn in Booty Bay. Turn in the quest you received from Bibbly F'utzbuckle, then pick up the next quest. Buy Cherry Grog from the innkeeper as directed by the quest.

4. Find Illari Duskfeather in Arathi Highlands: Head to the location under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat there, and you will be teleported to the eastern shore. Locate Illari Duskfeather and speak with her. She will offer two dialogue options; choose one to initiate a fight. Defeat her, loot the dropped bag, and obtain the Shadowy Rune from it.

5. Open the Shadowy Rune: Inside the Shadowy Rune, you will find The Art of War Rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Warrior Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Blood Surge Rune

1. Obtaining the Quest: Defeat ogres in Alterac or in Stromgarde until you obtain an Engraved Leather Belt, which starts the quest for the Blood Surge Rune.

2. Starting the Quest:

When you have the Engraved Leather Belt, travel to the southeast of Arathi Highlands.

Find Skonk at coordinates /way 59.0, 72.0 near the Sunken Vessel.

3. Completing Skonk's Tasks:

Skonk will task you with gathering ingredients for the rune:

Wild Gryphon Spinal Fluid: Drops from Wild Gryphons in the Hinterlands and Hillsbrad Foothills.

Viscous Venom: Drops from Deathstrike Tarantulas in the southeast Swamp of Sorrows. Specifically, look for level 40-41 spiders.

Angor Spiced Ale: Located at the bottom of the sunken vessel in Arathi Highlands at /way 20.0, 83.0.

Badlands Bourbon: Retrieve this item from the basement of Angor Fortress in the Badlands.

4. Finishing the Quest:

Once all ingredients are collected, return to Skonk.

Defeat Skonk to obtain your Blood Surge Rune.

Focused Rage Rune

1. Location: Go to the Arathi Highlands.

2. Loot Source: Defeat Witherbark trolls around Witherbark Village, located in the Southwest of Arathi Highlands. The trolls that can drop the item include Witherbark Headhunter, Witherbark Axe Thrower, and Witherbark Witch Doctor.

3. Cave Entrance: Find the entrance to Witherbark Cave at the coordinates /way 63 77.

4. Inside the Cave: Navigate through the cave and interact with the Focused Rage Rune using the Rune Engraving ability.

5. Boss Encounter: This action spawns the Focused Rageholder, a level 35 Elite mob accompanied by two additional mobs (adds).

6. Obtain the Rune: Defeat the Focused Rageholder to loot the Focused Rage Rune.

Precise Timing Rune

1. Starting Point: Travel to Deadwind Pass and locate the NPC at Ariden's Camp using the coordinates /way #1430 52 35. Speak with this NPC to begin the quest chain.

2. Quest Item: The NPC will provide you with a Detector which you need to have equipped, or you need to be in the company of another player who has it equipped, to find and kill specific Elites.

3. Finding Elites: Search for seven different Elite mobs referred to as Dark Riders in various locations. When you're close to a Dark Rider, you will get the "Dalaran's Aura" buff indicating their proximity.

4. Locations and Drops:

Deadwind Pass: Locate the Dark Rider at /way #1430 43 29 to get the Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: Find the Dark Rider at /way #1431 23 47 for the Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: The Dark Rider at /way #1435 69 28 drops the Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: A Dark Rider at /way #1417 60 40 will give you the Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: Encounter the Dark Rider at /way #1418 58 54 to obtain the Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: Find the Dark Rider at /way #1413 52 36 to get the Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: The Dark Rider located at /way #1443 65 25 drops the Creepy Dalaran Relic.

5. Returning Relics: After collecting all seven Dalaran Relics, return to the NPC at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass to turn in the relics for experience and silver rewards.

6. Completing the Quest Chain: Once all relics are turned in, the NPC will offer a final quest that rewards you with a container. Inside this container, you will find the Precise Timing Rune.

Enraged Regeneration Rune

1. Desolace Campfire: Begin the quest by obtaining the "Highway Robbery" quest at the Extinguished Campfire located northwest of the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace. The coordinates for this location are /way 47 54. You need to be at least level 30 to start this quest.

2. Kormek's Hut: Head to the location near Kormek's Hut at /way 63 39 in Desolace, turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle, and pick up the subsequent quest.

3. Booty Bay Inn: Travel to the inn in Booty Bay, complete the quest chain there by turning in the appropriate quest, buy Cherry Grog, and receive further instructions on your quest chain.

4. Arathi Highlands Bridge: Locate the hidden boat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore.

5. Illari: Once teleported, find Illari. Engage in dialogue with her and choose one of the dialogue options to initiate a fight. Defeat her and loot the dropped bag to obtain the Enraged Regeneration Rune. Note that Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue option available, which, if chosen, will result in Illari giving the bag without the need for combat.

Intervene Rune

1. Location in Thousand Needles: Head to the southwest part of Shimmering Flats, around the coordinates /way 66 88.

2. Combat Dummies: Locate the three Combat Dummies in this area.

3. Execute Actions:

Execute the first Combat Dummy with a two-handed weapon.

Taunt the second Combat Dummy while dual wielding.

Shield Bash the third Combat Dummy.

4. Minimum Level: You must be at least level 30 to complete this task.

5. Before You Go: It is advised to carry a two-handed weapon, two one-handed weapons, and a shield in your bags before you venture out to the Shimmering Flats, to avoid a long trip back to the bank.

Rallying Cry Rune

1. Location: The Rune drops off a level 40 Rare Elite in the Badlands.

2. Spawn Locations: The exact spawn locations of this Rare Elite are not fully known. However, a user named mokz reported sighting the Rare Elite at the following coordinates in the Badlands: /way 25,65 and /way 35,57.

3. Minimum Level: You should be at least level 40 to attempt to find and defeat this Rare Elite to obtain the Rallying Cry Rune.

4. Before You Go: Specific preparations before heading out to find the Rare Elite are not detailed in the guide (marked as "TBA" - To Be Announced).

WoW SoD Phase 2 Warlock Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Grimoire of Synergy Rune

1. Receive Mail and Begin Questline: At level 30, you'll get a mail prompting you to return to the Warlock camp in The Barrens (/way 49.2 57.2).

2. The Barrens: You will receive a new quest along with an invisibility potion.

3. Ashenvale: Go to Bough Shadow near the Ysondre World Boss area in Ashenvale. Use the invisibility potion to bypass two level 60 elites. Look for a lootable tree to obtain the Branch of the Arcane. Return to the quest giver, but be aware of the stacking shadow dot damage that can kill you. Use Unending Breath and healing to survive. Avoid resurrection sickness to prevent frequent deaths.

4. Engineering Item Requirement: The quest will require you to obtain a Soul Vessel, crafted by Engineering (205) or purchased with Honored reputation from certain vendors. You need 4x Shadowgem, 1x Demonic Figurine, and 1x Black Vitriol.

5. Desolace: With the Soul Vessel crafted, head to Mannoroc Coven in southern Desolace (/way 54 80). Turn in the quest and receive the Grimoire of Synergy Rune.

Invocation Rune

1. Kill Syndicate Conjurors: Go to Stromgarde Keep in Arathi Highlands. Defeat Syndicate Conjurors to collect 10 Conjuror's Pendants.

2. Use Drain Soul: Use Drain Soul on the Voidwalker minions in the area to get Soul of the Void.

3. Combine Items on Void Prism: Go to the top floor of the house in Stromgarde Keep (/way 29.35 63). Combine the Soul of the Void with the Conjuror's Pendant on the Void Prism.

4. Kill the Summoned Mob: Defeat the Voidseeker that spawns after combining the items.

Shadow and Flame Rune

1. Desolace: Start by obtaining the quest in Desolace at an NPC located northwest of the Kodo Graveyard. The coordinates for this location are /way 47 54.

2. Desolace: Next, head to the coordinates /way 63 39, which is near Kormek's Hut. There, turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the subsequent quest.

3. Booty Bay: Travel to the inn in Booty Bay. There, turn in the previous quest and pick up a new one. While you are there, buy Cherry Grog from the NPC as part of the quest chain.

4. Arathi Highlands: Find a boat under the bridge that connects Arathi Highlands to the Wetlands. The exact location is around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interacting with this boat will teleport you to the eastern shore.

5. Eastern Shore: Once teleported, find an NPC and talk to her. Most races will be presented with two dialogue options, both of which will lead to a confrontation. Defeat her in combat, then pick up the dropped bag and loot it to obtain the Shadow and Flame Rune. If you are playing as a Night Elf, there is a peaceful dialogue option that will allow you to receive the Shadow and Flame Rune without combat.

Dance of the Wicked Rune

1. Locate a Reckless Warlock: Warlocks must search for and interact with a Reckless Warlock to loot a Brimstone Carving. Known spawn locations for the Reckless Warlock include:

2. Stranglethorn Vale: Inside the Gurubashi Arena, on the western side.

3. Thousand Needles: Near the coordinates /way 10, 40, close to the Highperch area.

4. Use Hellfire: Once you have the Brimstone Carving, you must use the Hellfire ability to damage both mobs and yourself. Continue using Hellfire until you reduce your health below 70%. At this point, the Brimstone Carving will transform into the Dance of the Wicked Rune.

Demonic Knowledge Rune

1. Travel to Deadwind Pass: Head to Ariden's Camp at the coordinates /way #1430 52 35.

2. Speak with the NPC: When you arrive at Ariden's Camp, you will need to interact with an NPC there who will provide you with an item or quest.

3. Equip or Group with Someone Who Has the Item: Either equip the item given by the NPC yourself, or join another player who has the item equipped. This is necessary to find and kill the required targets.

4. Find and Kill Dark Riders: You will need to kill seven Dark Rider Elites in various locations after using an ability to see them. Killing these elites will reward you with different Dalaran Relics. A "Detect Invisibility" buff or similar ability will indicate when a Dark Rider is nearby.

Deadwind Pass: At /way #1430 43 29, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: At /way #1431 23 47, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: At /way #1435 69 28, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: At /way #1417 60 40, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: At /way #1418 58 54, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: At /way #1413 52 36, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: At /way #1443 65 25, you will find a Dark Rider that drops the Creepy Dalaran Relic.

5. Return the Relics: Once you have collected all seven Dalaran Relics, return to the NPC at Ariden's Camp.

6. Complete Quests: Turn in the relics to the NPC for experience and some silver. At max level, you will be rewarded with a different form of currency or points.

7. Receive the Final Quest: After turning in all the relics, the NPC will offer you a final quest.

8. Complete the Final Quest: Upon completing the final quest, you will be rewarded with the Demonic Knowledge Rune, which is intended for the Warlock class and used in the Boots slot.

Shadowflame Rune

1. Desolace Location:

Go to Shadowbreak Ravine in the southeastern corner of Desolace.

The path to the altar begins at coordinates /way 79.7 82.7.

The altar itself is located at /way 81.4 79.8.

2. Interacting with the Altar:

Cast Detect Invisibility and interact with the altar by channeling it.

Be aware that the altar deals lethal Shadow damage over 5 seconds, and you cannot be healed while channeling it.

3. Surviving the Altar's Damage:

You can use defensive buffs such as Sacrifice, Spellstone, Shadow resistance, Shadow Resistance gear, and Shadow Protection Potion to mitigate the damage.

A method to 'cheese' the damage involves using Sacrifice and starting the channel naked, then quickly re-equipping your gear once the channel is complete.

4. Defeating Ceeyna:

Kill Ceeyna to loot the Shadowflame Rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Rogue Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Poisoned Knife Rune

1. Start in Desolace: Obtain the initial quest at a signpost northwest of the Kodo Graveyard (/way 47 54).

2. Visit Bibbly F'utzbuckle: Go to the location near Kormek's Hut in Desolace (/way 63 39). Turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the next quest.

3. Proceed to Booty Bay: Go to the inn in Booty Bay. Turn in the quest you received from Bibbly F'utzbuckle, and pick up the subsequent quest. Buy Cherry Grog as part of the quest line.

4. Arathi Highlands Adventure:

Find the rowboat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands (/way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map). Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore. Locate Illari Duskfeather and engage in dialogue. Choose one of the dialogue options to initiate a fight. Defeat her, pick up the dropped bag, and loot the Deciphered Troll Scroll. Open the Deciphered Troll Scroll to loot the Poisoned Knife Rune.

Shadowstep Rune

1. Receive a Letter from "C":

2. At level 30, you'll receive a letter in your mailbox from "C" about a new job.

3. Pyrewood Village in Silverpine Forest: Go to Pyrewood Village and find a briefing in the same chest as for the Deadly Brew Rune Guide (/way #1421 47.1 71.1).

4. Pick Up the Quest: Loot the chest to pick up the quest An Elaborate Disguise.

5. Scarlet Monastery in Tirisfal Glades: Find a box inside the stable behind Scarlet Monastery to loot your disguise. Wear the disguise and head inside the outer area of Scarlet Monastery (it only works inside the instance and when not in a group).

6. Graveyard Wing: Use Pick Pocket on a Scarlet Scryer to loot a Scarlet Key.

7. Library Wing: Loot a sparkling box inside the Athenaeum.

8. Forlorn Cloister: /sit on a bench in the Forlorn Cloister, cross the room, and /sit on the bench on the other side. Loot a sparkling chest inside one of the mausoleum niches to the north.

9. Gallery of Treasures: Loot your last box for the Eye of Divinity.

10. Return to Pyrewood Village: Place the Eye in the chest.

11. Check Your Mail in a Major City: You will receive a lockbox that contains the Shadowstep Rune.

Shuriken Toss Rune

1. Go to Swamp of Sorrows: Travel to the location at /way 42, 30 in Swamp of Sorrows.

2. Find the Dart Trap: Look for a Dart Trap attached to a tree. Be cautious, as the trap will fire a dart if you step too close in front of it.

3. Use Disarm Trap: Use your Disarm Trap ability on the Dart Trap to safely obtain the Shuriken Toss Rune.

Rolling with the Punches Rune

1. Travel to Thousand Needles: Head to Camp E'Thok in Thousand Needles.

2. Locate the Largest Tent: Within Camp E'Thok, find the largest tent at the coordinates /way 18.5 20.9.

3. Find the Chest: Inside the tent, on the right wall, you will see a small chest.

4. Open the Chests: Keep opening the chest-within-a-chest you find inside until you finally obtain the Rolling with the Punches Rune.

Waylay Rune

1. Start at Deadwind Pass: Speak with the NPC at Ariden's Camp (/way #1430 52 35) to begin your quest.

2. Equip Arcane Decoder: With the Arcane Decoder equipped, or while with another player who has it equipped, you need to find and kill seven Dark Rider Elites. Use specific emotes on them to obtain Dalaran Relics.

3. Locate Dark Riders and Collect Relics:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29, drops Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47, drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28, drops Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: /way #1417 60 40, drops Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: /way #1418 58 54, drops Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: /way #1413 52 36, drops Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: /way #1443 65 25, drops Creepy Dalaran Relic.

4. Return with the Relics: Once you have all the Dalaran Relics, go back to the NPC at Ariden's Camp and turn in each of the various reward quests for experience and some silver.

5. Obtain the Waylay Rune: After turning in all seven Dalaran Relics, the NPC will provide the final quest, which rewards the Waylay Rune.

Master of Subtlety Rune

1. Travel to Kurzen's Compound in Northern Stranglethorn Vale: Locate the stone tower and the cave nearby (/way 44.2 8.0).

2. Find the Imprisoned NPC: Enter the stone tower to find an NPC named Kurzen Shadow Hunter imprisoned in a cage.

3. Obtain the Key: Pickpocket Kurzen mobs in the adjacent cave to find the key to the cage.

4. Open the Chest: There is a chest in the cave that requires 125 lockpicking to open. Loot the chest to obtain the required items for the NPC.

5. Free Kurzen Shadow Hunter: Return to the tower and use the key to free the imprisoned Kurzen Shadow Hunter.

6. Meet with the Contact in Booty Bay: Go back to Booty Bay and find your contact (/way 27.8 76.6), who is located on the lower fishing platform.

7. Receive Your Rune: Speak to the contact to receive the Master of Subtlety Rune and, as a bonus, a disguise.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Druid Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Berserk Rune

1. Travel to Thousand Needles and locate the Beastly Effigy at coordinates 69, 55.

2. Once in the vicinity, you will receive the Beastly Effigy buff.

3. Use Rallying Cry on the Beastly Effigy. This will spawn the elite monster Zai'enki.

4. Defeat Zai'enki and loot the Idol of the Heckler.

5. Equip the Idol of the Heckler.

6. Use Rallying Cry to taunt two or more enemies at once.

7. Kill at least one enemy while they are taunted.

8. Complete this process of taunting and killing five enemies with the Idol equipped.

9. Once five enemies have been killed, right click the Idol of the Heckler in your inventory to learn the Berserk Rune.

Eclipse Rune

1. Go to Desolace and obtain a quest from an Extinguished Campfire at coordinates 47, 54.

2. Complete the quest by going to coordinates 63, 39 near Kormek's Hut. Turn it in to Bibbly F'utzbuckle.

3. Travel to Booty Bay inn. Speak to an Orc Marauder and buy her a drink from the innkeeper. She will give you the next part of the quest.

4. Go to the rowboat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and Wetlands at coordinates 53, 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with it to be teleported.

5. Find Illari Duskfeather on the eastern shore at coordinates 53, 91. Speak to her and answer her dialogue questions correctly. She will reward you with a key to a nearby chest.

6. Open the chest to loot the Eclipse Rune. If dialogue is failed, defeat Illari and loot the key from her body.

Nourish Rune

1. Travel to Dustwallow Marsh and kill the Rotting Ancient near coordinates 45,51.

2. Loot the Rotten Seed drop from the Rotting Ancient. This will start a quest.

3. Take the portal to Moonglade and speak to Orokai to accept the next part of the quest.

4. This quest tasks you with finding Ancient Saplings that are scattered across Azeroth in unknown locations.

5. As the locations of each Ancient Sapling are still unknown, continue to discover their whereabouts and update guides.

6. Once the required number of Ancient Saplings are turned in, it is assumed the Nourish Rune will be rewarded.

Dreamstate Rune

1. Go to Desolace and kill Kolkar Centaurs around coordinates 73,49.

2. Loot the Desiccated Seed Pod drop.

3. Travel south to the pond at coordinates 70,70.

4. Swim in the pond until the seed pod transforms into a Satyrweed Bulb.

5. Go north to Sargeron in the northeast corner of Desolace around coordinates 75,20.

6. Interact with the Sandy Loam soil to plant the Satyrweed Bulb.

7. Completing the planting will reward the Dreamstate Rune.

King of the Jungle Rune

1. Travel to Deadwind Pass: Go to Ariden's Camp, located at coordinates /way #1430 52 35.

Speak with the NPC: Interact with the mysterious NPC at this location to receive a special item or instructions.

2. Acquire the Dalaran Relics:

Seek out and defeat seven specific elites after using a required item or ability. Upon their defeat, they will drop different Dalaran Relics.

The elites and their locations are as follows:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28

3. Return to the NPC: Once you have all the relics, go back to the NPC at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass.

4. Complete the Quest: Turn in the relics to receive your rewards, which at max level include experience and silver.

5. Obtain the Rune: After turning in all seven relics, you should be offered a final quest that rewards the King of the Jungle Rune for Druids, best suited for the Feral DPS build, to be used on boots.

Survival Instincts Rune

1. Go to Swamp of Sorrows and find Amaryllis Webb at coordinates 25, 54.2.

2. Buy the Entomology Starter Kit for 50g. This contains a bug catching net and guide.

3. Go to Stranglethorn Vale and catch a bug on a tree stump near Lake Nazferiti logging camp at coordinates 45, 19.

4. Travel to Arathi Highlands and catch a bug near Northfold Manor at coordinates 31, 28.

5. Go to Desolace and catch a bug near the Kodo Graveyard at coordinates 51, 59.

6. Return to Amaryllis Webb in Swamp of Sorrows.

7. Upon completing the bug hunting quest, Amaryllis Webb will reward you with the Survival Instincts Rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Hunter Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Expose Weakness (Belt)

1. Go to Badlands and kill Dustbelcher Ogres until you get a Primitive Drawing drop.

2. Accept the Terror of the Desert Skies quest from the drawing.

3. Turn in the quest to Hemet Nesingwary in Stranglethorn Vale.

4. Receive an empty cage from Hemet.

5. Use the cage to capture any critter.

6. Return to Badlands southwest area at coordinates 22, 67.

7. Use the captured critter as bait to lure down the level 40 elite bird Gharrik.

8. Defeat Gharrik and loot the Crimson Trophy Quill.

9. Bring the quill back to Hemet Nesingwary in Stranglethorn Vale.

10. Hemet will reward the Rune of Expose Weakness for completing the hunt.

Melee Specialist (Belt)

1. Initiate the Quest: Begin at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass, at coordinates /way #1430 52 35.

2. Speak with the NPC: Interact with the designated NPC at Ariden's Camp to receive the necessary item or information to track down the Dark Riders.

3. Hunt Down the Dark Riders:

Equip the item given by the NPC or accompany another player who has it equipped.

Defeat the seven Dark Riders to collect various Dalaran Relics. You will receive a buff indicating the presence of a Dark Rider nearby.

The Dark Riders and their drops are located as follows:

4. Return with the Relics: After collecting all the Dalaran Relics, go back to the NPC at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass.

Complete the Collection: Hand in all the relics to the NPC for experience and silver rewards at max level.

5. Receive the Rune: Once all relics are turned in, a quest should become available that, upon completion, rewards the Melee Specialist Rune. This rune is tailored for the Hunter class and is best used for a Hunter DPS build, fitting on the belt slot.

Steady Shot (Belt)

1. Go to Arathi Highlands.

2. Find the lake in Witherbark Village, near coordinates 66, 60.5.

3. Use Fishing to fish in this lake.

4. Fish until you catch a Needletooth, which has approximately a 60 second spawn timer in the lake.

5. Catching the Needletooth is the required objective to obtain the Steady Shot Rune.

Dual Wield Specialization (Boots)

1. Go to Stranglethorn Vale and travel to coordinates 31.8, 15.7, southwest of the Nesingwary camp.

2. At this location you will gain the "Danger!" buff.

3. Use the Flare ability to reveal the elite enemy Bloodscalp Guerrilla.

4. The Bloodscalp Guerrilla may not spawn directly on top of you, so scan the area as it roams.

5. Defeat the Bloodscalp Guerrilla when found.

6. Loot the Rune of the Scrapper drop from the enemy.

7. With the Rune of the Scrapper in your inventory, you will be able to learn the Dual Wield Specialization ability.

Invigoration (Boots)

1. Go to Swamp of Sorrows and find Amaryllis Webb on the road between Deadwind Pass and Blasted Lands.

2. Buy the Entomology Starter Kit for 50g from Amaryllis Webb. This includes a bug catching net and guide.

3. Go to Stranglethorn Vale and catch a bug on a tree stump near the logging camp at coordinates 45, 19.

4. Travel to Arathi Highlands and catch a bug in the stable building at Northfold Manor at coordinates 31, 28.

5. Go to Desolace and catch the final bug near the Kodo Graveyard at coordinates 51, 59.

6. Once all 3 bugs have been collected, return to Amaryllis Webb in Swamp of Sorrows.

7. She will reward you with the Invigoration Rune for completing the bug hunting task.

Trap Launcher (Boots)

1. Go to Desolace and start a quest by interacting with an Extinguished Campfire at coordinates 47,54.

2. Complete the quest by going to coordinates 63,39 near Kormek's Hut and turning it in.

3. Travel to Booty Bay inn and speak to an Orc Marauder. Buy her a drink from the innkeeper.

4. Take a rowboat under the Arathi Highlands bridge at coordinates 53,91. It will teleport you.

5. Find Illari Duskfeather on the eastern shore and speak with her dialogue options.

6. You'll either be given a key directly, or need to defeat Illari and loot the key.

7. Use the key to open the nearby chest and loot the Trap Launcher rune inside.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Priest Runes Locations & Farm Spots

Empowered Renew Rune

1. Thousand Needles: Visit Thousand Needles and farm the Grimtotem mobs, such as Grimtotem Stompers, to obtain the rune. A recommended farming spot is around /way 34.4 30.6.

2. Alterac Mountains: Another location where the rune can be dropped is from Crushridge Ogre mobs. These can be found along the eastern edge of the snowy area in the zone, particularly at /way 52.8 44.6.

Mind Spike Rune

1. Start in Desolace: Obtain the initial quest at a signpost northwest of the Kodo Graveyard (/way 47 54).

2. Visit Bibbly F'utzbuckle: Go to the location near Kormek's Hut in Desolace (/way 63 39). Turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the follow-up quest.

3. Proceed to Booty Bay: Travel to the inn in Booty Bay. Turn in the quest received from Bibbly F'utzbuckle, then pick up the next quest. Buy Cherry Grog from the innkeeper to progress the quest.

4. Find Illari Duskfeather in Arathi Highlands: There is a rowboat located under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands (/way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map). Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore.

5. Find Illari Duskfeather and engage in dialogue. For most races, she will offer two hostile dialogue options which, when chosen, will lead to a fight. Defeat her, then loot the dropped bag to obtain the Shadowy Rune. Open the Shadowy Rune to loot the Mind Spike Rune.

Renewed Hope Rune

1. Kill Nagas in Desolace: Head to the northwestern shoreline of Desolace and kill Nagas to acquire the Unstable Vision item.

2. Use Mind Control: Use Mind Control on a Slitherblade Priestess in the area. You will need to know the Mind Control spell, which is available at level 30.

3. Acquire the Meditation Buff: While controlling the Slitherblade Priestess, wait for her to cast the Meditation buff. Target yourself and use the Meditation ability from the pet bar to give yourself the buff.

4. Learn the Rune: With the Meditation buff active on yourself, right-click the Unstable Vision item to learn the Renewed Hope Rune.

Dispersion Rune

1. Rogue's Assistance: Find a Rogue who has earned the Master of Subtlety Rune and acquired the ability to loot the Rogue's Draught. The Rogue must use Pick Pocket on trolls in Stranglethorn Vale, specifically from a Bloodscalp Scavenger around /way #1434 33 14. This will yield a Deciphered Troll Scroll.

2. Mage's Assistance: A Mage must use a Decryption Device to decipher the Deciphered Troll Scroll into a readable quest scroll.

3. The scroll reads: "When Zul'Kund's fountain runs with the waters of the holy spring, the gods grant their blessing."

4. Loot Holy Spring Water: Retrieve Holy Spring Water from the Holy Spring in the southern part of Stranglethorn Vale, /way #1434 28.9 62.0. This is the area where Lord Sakrasis can spawn.

5. Use Meditation Buffs: With two active Meditation Buffs running, head to the Ruins of Zul'Kunda in Stranglethorn Vale, to the area where Gan'zulah spawns, /way #1434 23.6 8.2.

6. Interact with the Fountain: Use the Holy Spring Water next to the fountain behind Gan'zulah, making that fountain interactable. Loot the fountain for the Dispersion Rune.

Pain Suppression Rune

1. Loot Echos in Four Zones:

Visit graves in the specified areas to loot Echos:

Scarlet Monastery (Graveyard): Locate the grave echo about halfway down the grave area and to the left (near where the Headless Horseman spawns during the holiday event in Retail).

Arathi Highlands: Find the echo at Go'shek Farm (/way 62 54).

Dustwallow Marsh: Look for the echo in the graveyard around /way 63.5 42.5.

Swamp of Sorrows: Locate the echo at /way 16.8 53.8.

2. Scarlet Monastery - Library Wing:

Activate the Echos at the correct statues in the following order: Warrior - Mage - Paladin - Priest.

If done correctly, a glowing sphere will appear in the middle of the room.

3. Loot the Glowing Sphere: Loot the Glowing Sphere and use it to learn the Pain Suppression Rune.

Spirit of the Redeemer Rune

1. Start in Deadwind Pass: Speak with the NPC at Ariden's Camp (/way #1430 52 35) to receive the quest.

2. Collect Dalaran Relics:

With an Arcane Decoder equipped, or while with another player who has it equipped, find and kill seven Dark Rider Elites after using a specific emote to them, which will reward you with a different Dalaran Relic.

You'll know a Dark Rider is nearby if you obtain the 'Feeling Watched' buff.

3. Find Dark Riders and Collect Relics:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29 drops Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47 drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28 drops Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: /way #1417 60 40 drops Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Fire Nova Rune

1. Desolace Flameseer: In Desolace, kill Flameseer Dubelen at coordinates /way 57 21 to start the quest chain.

2. Orgrimmar Visit: Travel to Orgrimmar and speak to Zor Lonetree at coordinates /way 39.0 38.0.

3. Maraudon Tears:

Purple Wing: Go to Maraudon and enter the Purple Wing to loot the Tear of Theradras at coordinates /way 27 57.

Orange Wing: In the same dungeon, find and loot the Tear of Theradras in the Orange Wing at coordinates /way 39 57.

4. Thunder Bluff Meeting: Return to Zor Lonetree, who will direct you to Archdruid Hamuul Runetotem in Thunder Bluff at coordinates /way 78.6 28.6.

5. Moonglade Journey:

Speak with Tal at the Thunder Bluff flight path and travel to Moonglade.

In Moonglade, speak with Keeper Remulos at coordinates /way 36 41 to receive a quest.

6. Cleansing the Totem: Go to coordinates /way 55 65 in Moonglade to find a Corrupted Fire Totem. Use the Elemental Salve given to you to cleanse this totem, and you will receive the Fire-Proof Totem.

7. Using the Fire-Proof Totem: Equip the Fire-Proof Totem and hit enemies 25 times with Fire Nova. After doing so, right-click the equipped Fire-Proof Totem to earn the Fire Nova Rune.

Maelstrom Weapon Rune

1. Razorfen Kraul Scroll: Defeat Charlga Razorflank in Razorfen Kraul to obtain a Scroll. This Scroll can be used at level 30.

2. Freewind Post: Take the Scroll to Rau Cliffrunner in Freewind Post, located in Thousand Needles.

3. Tarren Mill Prayer: Go to Tarren Mill and find Bath'rah the Windwatcher at coordinates 80.4, 66.8. Before speaking to him, perform the /pray emote.

4. Elemental Orbs Collection: Collect elemental orbs from different elementals across Azeroth:

Wind Orbs: From Wind Elementals in Desolace.

Water Orbs: From Water Elementals in Dustwallow Marsh.

Earth Orbs: From Earth Elementals East of Kargath in the Badlands.

5. Return to Bath'rah: After collecting the orbs, return to Bath'rah the Windwatcher north of Tarren Mill with one Tainted Vial. He will fill the Vial for you.

6. Back to Rau Cliffrunner: Take the Filled Vial back to Rau Cliffrunner in Freewind Post.

7. Flight Master and Elemental Encounter:

Drink the Vial and then speak to the Flight Master in Freewind Post.

Defeat the nearest Caster and then kill the Elite Water Elemental. Loot the Eye of the Tempest from it.

If you perish during this encounter, speak with the spirit guide and request to return to your previous location. Do not use the Spirit Resurrect function.

8. Final Return to Bath'rah: Once you have the Eye of the Tempest, return to Bath'rah the Windwatcher north of Tarren Mill to receive the Maelstrom Weapon Rune.

Power Surge Rune

1. Ogre Hunt in Arathi Highlands: Go to the Arathi Highlands and locate the Boulderfist Ogres. These ogres are around level 32-33 and can be found around and inside a cave near the coordinates /way 34, 44.

2. Looting the Lightning Rod: Kill the Boulderfist Ogres until you obtain a Lightning Rod.

3. Using the Lightning Rod: Take the Lightning Rod to the top of the mountain where you will find Soft Soil. Place the rod into the Soft Soil and target the Lightning Rod.

4. Summoning the Elite: Strike the Lightning Rod ten times with your Lightning Bolt spell. This will summon a level 37 Elite named Myzrael's Echo.

5. Defeating Myzrael's Echo: Kill Myzrael's Echo to loot the Power Surge Rune.

Ancestral Awakening Rune

1. Start in Desolace: Obtain the starting quest in Desolace at the Extinguished Campfire, which is located northwest of the Kodo Graveyard at /way 47 54.

2. Bibbly F'utzbuckle: Go to /way 63 39, near Kormek's Hut in Desolace. Turn in the quest to Bibbly F'utzbuckle and then pick up the next quest in the chain.

3. Booty Bay Inn: Head to the inn in Booty Bay. There, turn in the quest you received from Bibbly F'utzbuckle and pick up the following quest. You will need to buy Cherry Grog, which will lead you to the next part of your quest.

4. Arathi Highlands Boat: Find the hidden boat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands at around /way 53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore.

5. Encounter with Illari: After being teleported, find Illari and speak with her. She will present dialogue options, and upon choosing one, she will engage in combat with you. Defeat her, loot the dropped bag, and inside you will find the Ancestral Awakening Rune. Note that Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue option that will allow them to receive the rune without a fight.

Decoy Totem Rune

1. Thousand Needles: Head to Thousand Needles to start collecting the required items.

Kill Cloud Serpents to collect 3 Vibrant Plumes.

Kill Harpies to collect 10 Resilient Sinews.

Acquire 1 Silken Thread, which can be purchased from vendors.

2. Wind Spirit Statue: Once you have all the items, go to the Wind Spirit Statue located at /way 39.4 42.0, which is behind a hut on top of the bluff.

3. Creating the Offering: Use the Vibrant Plumes or Resilient Sinews at the statue to create an offering. This process is a channeled action, so ensure you are not interrupted and can complete the offering without stopping.

4. Completing the Ritual: After using the items on the statue, you must perform a "show of faith" by jumping off the ledge as part of the ritual for the Wind Serpent.

5. Collect the Rune: Successful completion of this ritual will grant you the Decoy Totem Rune.

Spirit of the Alpha Rune

1. Location: Go to Thousand Needles, specifically near Freewind Post.

2. Weathered Cache: Find a Weathered Cache located on top of a mushroom-shaped rock. The coordinates for this location are /way 46, 53.

3. Loot the Rune: Simply loot the Weathered Cache, and you will obtain the Spirit of the Alpha Rune.

Two-Handed Mastery Rune

1. Start in Deadwind Pass: Go to Deadwind Pass and speak with the NPC at Ariden's Camp at coordinates /way #1430 52 35. They will provide you with a Detector.

2. Use the Detector: With the Detector equipped, or while in a group with another player who has the Detector equipped, you must find and defeat seven Dark Rider Elites. Using the Detector will reveal these Elites to you, which will reward you with different Dalaran Relics when killed. You'll know a Dark Rider is nearby when you get the "Detector's Aura" buff.

3. Dark Rider Locations and Relics:

Deadwind Pass: /way #1430 43 29, drops the Curious Dalaran Relic.

Duskwood: /way #1431 23 47, drops the Glittering Dalaran Relic.

Swamp of Sorrows: /way #1435 69 28, drops the Odd Dalaran Relic.

Arathi Highlands: /way #1417 60 40, drops the Whirring Dalaran Relic.

Badlands: /way #1418 58 54, drops the Slippery Dalaran Relic.

The Barrens: /way #1413 52 36, drops the Heavy Dalaran Relic.

Desolace: /way #1443 65 25, drops the Creepy Dalaran Relic.

4. Return and Turn In: After collecting all the Dalaran Relics, return to the NPC at Ariden's Camp in Deadwind Pass and turn in each of the various reward quests for experience and some silver. At max level, each quest rewards a different amount of silver.

5. Final Quest: Once all seven Dalaran Relics have been returned, the NPC will offer a final quest, which rewards an item containing the Two-Handed Mastery Rune inside.
