The guide below assumes your keys are at least 19s for the 470 end of dungeon loot. While 16s do drop Aspect Crests, the loot is on the Champion track. 17s vault reward is on the Hero track, not the Myth track. If 19s are too difficult, 18s are fine - they drop Hero track rewards and the vault is Myth track. However, reaching item level 476 in every slot will take one additional week due to the increased Wyrm Crests required to upgrade your gear.

WoW Dragonflight Season 3 iLvl 486 Gearing Guide

How do you craft your 486 gear in WoW Dragonflight Season 3? As a reminder, crafted gear is now 3 item levels lower than max Myth track gear. The recipe for the crafted pieces has slightly changed. Because Crests are a currency, you need to purchase a Nascent Aspect's Dreaming Crest from a vendor. On the PTR, it’s currently Andoris, the Enchanting Supplies vendor in Valdrakken(thanks MezzyED). It cost 60 Aspect’s Crests. You still combine this with the same mats as the old Crest to make an Enchanted Aspect’s Dreaming Crest. Splintered Spark of Dreams will drop from the new weekly similar to how it worked in Season 2. However, you now need 250 Flightstones to combine them into a Spark of Dreams.

What To Do in The First Weeks in Dragonflight 10.2 Patch Release

Week 1 - Patch Drop - Week of Nov 7

• - Farm rep to Rank 18 of the new faction. World of Moudi has an excellent guide to gaining rank 20 with the new reputation in week 2 of the patch. This allows you to get both the unlimited Augment rune. The guide can be found here. We're asked to check to see if there’s an upgrade path using the Enchanted Wyrm’s Dreaming Crest you get from reaching rank 20. It was a dud. You can find the scrapped version of this idea at the bottom of the document.

• - Similar to Season 2, you’ll be able to get a full Spark this week. Doing the reputation grind will net you the quest to get the spark.

• - Get your 90x Drake Crests from World Content. It is currently unknown if these will be available but they were in Season 2 so I’m going to include them in the guide. If they end up not being available, I will update on Nov 7th to correct this. Big thanks to u/Estake on Reddit for pointing this out.

• - (Updated November 7th) Farm 2000 flight stones because Blizzard just announced you're losing your old ones. Reminder that flightstones are now used in combining your sparks and because there are more upgrades this season you will probably spend a lot the first several weeks.

Week 2 - Season 3 Launch - Week of Nov 14

• - Get your 90 Aspect Crests (requires 8x timed keys)

• - Get your 90 Wyrm Crests (requires 8x more timed keys or full clear Heroic)

• - Get your 90 Drake Crests (requires 8x more timed keys or full clear Normal or world content)

• - Craft your BiS Spark WoW Gold at 486 (60x Aspect Crests). Don’t forget to do your quest for a half spark for the next week.

• - Collect loot at item levels 470+ from Heroic or keys 19+. You will save a lot of time farming 19s for 470 ilvl(see above). If you have a Normal difficulty set piece you can get a 463 or higher in that slot and upgrade the set piece to 463 using only Flightstones.

• - Use Drake Crests when you are sure that spending 180 Drake Crests (12 upgrades) will get you 463 in every slot.

• - Upgrade 470->476 in 3 slots. This will take 90 Wyrm Crests.

• - Upgrade 476->483 in 1 slot that you are not likely to replace soon. This will take 30 Aspect Crests.

Total Crests spent so far:

180/180 Drake

90/90 Wyrm

90/90 Aspect

Guaranteed Loot (No 473+ drops): 2x 476 slots, 2x 483+ slots. Every other slot is 463+.

Week 3 - Week of Nov 21

• - Open your Vault for a 480+ piece.

• - Get your 90 Aspect Crests

• - Get your 90 Wyrm Crests

• - You no longer need to farm Drake Crests as they are no longer relevant.

• - Craft your 2nd BiS Spark Item at 486 (60x Aspect Crests)

• - After full clearing Heroic, upgrade 470->476 in 3 slots. This will take 90 Wyrm Crests.

• - Upgrade 476->483 or 483->489 in 1 slot that you are not likely to replace soon. This will take 30 Aspect Crests.

Total Crests spent so far:

180/180 Wyrm

180/180 Aspect

Guaranteed Loot (No 473+ drops): 4x 476 slots, 4x 483+ slots.1x vault slot 480+. Other slots 463+.

Week 4 - Week of Nov 28

Week 5

• - Open your Vault for a 480+ piece.

• - Craft a Spark Item at 486 (60x Aspect Crests)

• - After full clearing Heroic, upgrade 470->476 in 1 slot. This will take 30 Wyrm Crests.

• - You are now 476 in every slot. If you’re unlucky with overlap between vault slots and pieces you upgraded, just continue to do keys and upgrade using Wyrm crests until you’re 476.

• - From here on out, farm 90 Aspect Crests and upgrade your loot each week until you’re 489 in every slot.
