WoW Dragonflight 10.2 Tank Tier List - Best M+, Raid & PvE Tanks In Dragonflight Season 3

9/11/2023 11:44:27 AM

WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.2 had a bunch of class changes. What are the best tanks in Dragonflight 10.2? Today, we bring you a Dragonflight 10.2 tank tier list to rank the best M+ and raid tanks for season 3.

WoW Dragonflight 10.2 Best Tank - Dragonflight Season 3 Tank Tier List & Rankings

This WoW Dragonflight 10.2 tanks tier list incorporates three elements including how the class feels right now, in all aspects of PvE not really even weighted towards raid or Mythic plus just PvE as a whole and how they are right now, what changes they are said to be getting in the patch. In Demon Hunter's case, if you’re Vengeance Demon Hunter, you will feel really good because that class needs a lot of help and you're getting a rework. Next, let's dive into Dragonflight 10.2 best tanks for Mythic+, raid and PvE!

S Tier - Vengeance Demon Hunter

Vengeance Demon Hunter is definitely one of the better tanks. It's definitely the most skill-intensive, you are doing a lot of work to do what a bear tank can do with one thrash but it is very fun and rewarding. Improving Vengeance is sigil-related talents as a possible build identity which means that there's a very high chance that we actually give the class all those special talents that improve your sigils. That is on top of the tier side but tier sets are actually surprisingly good for M+ at least. So the more targets there are, the more op it is. Vengeance DK is going to be a super sick spec for high-end Mythic+ and for MDI. If you're doing big pulls, this class is going to be broken. Not to mention that it's sigil based and you're getting sigil-based synergy, so it probably will be even better than it seems, it is really strong. This is going to be one of the best Dragonflight 10.2 tanks M+.

S Tier - Brewmaster Monk

The set of Brewmaster Monk is very good because it gets a ton of passive healing at least in AOE but in smaller amounts of targets is a little bit less good. Right now about 30% of your damage is fire damage and two set causes you to heal for 50% of all fire damage dealt. You're essentially getting 15% leech on your two sets which is insane. Brewmaster is way better than M+ than it does in raid but Brewmaster is already solid in the raid. Brewmaster scales really hard with the OG just because per point armor is so good compared to everybody else. If OG stays meta for M+ that's also good news. Brewmaster is probably the Dragonflight 10.2 best tank.

A Tier - Protection Warrior

Protection Warriors have been solid the whole time like Blood DK. There's been constant buffs to either buffing battle stance or buffing defensive stance. It's going to be a solid progression choice and if you need to shave the DPS Warrior for some reason then it's good. On the other hand, you're not going to shave a DPS Warrior if they've got that legendary coming in. The 10.1 tier set is really strong, but the 10.2 tier set is not as amazing for M+ because it's only effective on a single target. Aside from that, it resets your thunderclaps. It is a good change for raid but not a good change for Mythic+ because of the tier change but it seems like it's a good change for raid, so we’ll put him in A tier.

B Tier - Blood Death Knight

Their damage is at the bottom middle of the pack now which is good because if Blood DK’s damage is medium and they're indestructible that's big for the raid. The question is do you have a raid spot for a DK and the answer might be no. Because you need 4 Devastation Evokers, 2 Paladin, a Priest, and one of every other class besides Hunter and is there space for a DK, Hunter, or Shaman the answer may be no. Blood DK is a really good way to bring an indestructible tank, a lot of fights tend to have the group-like grips be good and DK's doing good damage. Therefore, you will feel pretty good as a Blood DK’s main going into this tier with those damage buffs and the tier set looks pretty pretty nice as well. It's another one of these set bonuses that keys off of bone shield charges, getting consumed at least the two sets. But the four sets just work on your bomb limb or your soul reaper on a single target which you play on raid fights in a single target and you'll just get a huge damage dealt increase to bosses at the end of the fight or in AOE situations on your CDs 20% damage increase that seems quite good.

However, this class is not doing great in M plus. Overall, Blood DK has good changes in patch 10.2. It's not amazing but it's still positive. Bood DK is always a really good raid spec it's never a bad raid tank. But we're in this weird timeline in WoW where trying to bring a tank that doesn't bring a raid debuff or raid buff is a very specific Niche tuning situation. Or if you play Blood DK, you don't care about all that stuff, this is by far the most fun tank to play.

C Tier - Protection Paladin

Paladin currently still has a lot of the stuff that made them good in season 1. It was nerfed but their tier set from season 1 to season 2 just had a massive fall off. That was a huge change for Protection Paladin. It does increase the radius of consecration by 30% which is a decent a bit of a decent bit of area. The most annoying thing is moving five yards and having to replace it at any level of gameplay. Besides that, it is strong. Protection Paladin has natural good, you have spell block, and you've reduced damage taken from dots in your consecrate, so you have things that other tanks die to instead of physical damage.

It is often the physical damage that overwhelms you as the Protection Paladin. Even then you're still falling behind on a fight like forgotten experiments, you die to that dot as a Protection Paladin more than other tanks do, even though that's supposed to be one of your strengths. With Protection Paladin, you have a mid-tier set. You're getting an increasingly more mid-tier set next time but the class is still functional and not bad. If you weren't going to play a Protection Paladin in the last patch, you weren't going to play it now, the same thing in the raid. We’ll put it C tier on this WoW Dragonflight tank M+ and raid tier list because maybe this class needs a little bit more.

D Tier - Guardian Druid

Guardian Druids are really powerful probably in a few years but the tier set they’re getting is sucks. It's essentially a 10% ignore the pain that lasts for 30 seconds is actually a long time but it's just a 10% ignore the pain that comes after you absorb. It is definitely not something that Guardian needs but it's still good. The guardian tier set currently is really powerful, especially for surviving big hits, but if you're talking about doing the Lotharian layer last boss without the current tier set, it would be a huge struggle to try to survive. The patch 10.2 tier set is essentially doing no damage and it gives you very little defensiveness. With Guardian losing its current tier set, gaining this new one which is not powerful enough, and the fact that they received zero other changes, that's why we’re putting it in the D tier. But they're at such an intense level anyway and still going to be good. Guardian is not often thought of as a raid tank and you don't think of running them but they do actually have some benefit of bringing mark of the wild. You could see them in raid potentially at their current power level because they do actually bring a buff.
