Diablo 4's full release is coming up really fast and we've had multiple public beta test periods allowing the masses to flood into the game and get a feel for what Diablo 4 feels like early on in the game. You probably have a question about what’s the best D4 endgame class. Today, in this Diablo 4 endgame tier list, we’re ranking the best class at level 50+.
Diablo IV Best Endgame Class - Diablo 4 Endgame tier List (Level 50+)
After all the early leveling stages of a Diablo game are almost like a prequel, essentially just the chore that you have to complete in order to reach the actual meat of the game, aside from the story of course the story is always nice and you get to do that on the way to level 50 that said the early testing we were allowed to do was at maximum up to level 25. If you were a part of the first two beta weekends, with the server slam weekend, only letting you get up to level 20 afterwards. But there is such a large part of the game that went simply unexplored as a result by most people. Let's talk about the Diablo 4 best endgame classes at level 50 themselves and their expected performance when it comes to the end game.
Diablo 4 Level 50+ Endgame Tier List
For those of you who have looked into the early power level of classes in the lower levels, you might be surprised to hear this. But end-game performance is almost the exact reverse order. Every single class is good, none of them are brokenly unplayable, and they're not bad by any means, but this is a comparison of their effectiveness against each other.
No.1 - Druid
At the very top of the D4 level 50+ endgame tier list then is going to be the Druid for a number of reasons. They get insanely tanky at higher levels. They have incredibly strong legendary power options that synergize incredibly well together as well as the unique items that are available too. More than anything they have an incredible amount of variety within the class. Druids arguably have the most different available types of builds that you can use and so you can switch depending on what you need to a certain extent once you have everything unlocked. They can go from Ultra tanky melee fighter to Squishy range caster and pretty much anything that you can dream of in between those two. All of these options have tons of legendaries to back them up too and wonderful synergistic ways.
No.2 - Barbarian (Barb)
Second up on the Diablo IV Endgame rankings then we would say is Barbarian. The biggest reason for this is the Arsenal systems-based mechanic of letting the Barbarian have four weapons equipped at the same time. Two of those are going to be two-handed weapons as well. The reason this matters so much is that you get the stats of every one of these weapons and also the legendary or unique powers of all the weapons that are active at the same time. This means that Barbarian has at a minimum, two more gear slots than any other class which is two more loads of stats to add to your total and two more legendary or unique powers to synergize into your build than any other class gets. Especially as many offensive legendaries are twice as effective on two-handed weapons and Barbarian has two of those equipped at any given time.
No.3 - Sorcerer (Sorc)
Third here is going to be really close but Sorcerer edges it out just slightly. It does tons of damage and has pretty good survivability. There are a number of viable strong builds and it can keep range from most enemies making it pretty hard for them to actually die in a lot of situations. Not to mention that at higher levels you get two enchantment slots which give you a ton of room for extra synergies within your skills themselves that other classes simply don't get, whereas Barbarian gets a ton of extra stats and legendary powers, Sorcerer gets more ways to synergize skills than any other class does and this pays off quite well with some really interesting combos if you know what you're doing.
No.4 - Rogue
Fourth again this was quite close on this Diablo IV endgame class tier list is going to be the Rogue. The Rogue is arguably the fastest of the leveling classes but moves down a fair bit in actual end game effectiveness. That's because compared to most classes, it winds up relatively squishy. Your main source of surviving the damage of end game level attacks and mechanics is straight-up avoidance. Using your movement abilities to get out of the way of the attacks and stay safe that way. Whereas classes like the Druid or Barbarian can often just sort of tank things that would probably destroy a Rogue. That said however the Rogue can get to a point where it deals insane amounts of damage. So if you are good enough at positioning to avoid dying in the first place, you will still get a lot of stuff done quite quickly. You just have a harder time accomplishing this than the three classes we've ranked above it. Honestly, it's not that Rogue's potential is low and set in the hands of most players you will struggle to apply your massive amounts of damage without dying more often than the other classes and thus reaching that potential is a lot harder.
No.5 - Necromancer (Necro)
Then in last place for the D4 endgame tier list level 50+, we’re going to be sticking Necromancer. The main reason for this is that the power of your minions diminishes pretty hard as you get further into the game. They are great early on and in the mid-game especially as you take the right skills and get legendaries to buff them. But in proper end-game content where you're doing things like nightmare dungeons with enemies inside that can be scaled up to a maximum level of 150, your minions will fold like a piece of paper. You can also instead choose to sacrifice your minions instead of that situation giving yourself as a character more power. But the actual reward of power for doing that is relatively small. In comparison to just the base power levels of other classes at that point. Necro is going to have a pretty low variety of minion builds which will lead it to have fewer options for how to tackle the harder content. As realistically you will keep your minions around which means that you will be taking a number of minion-based skills and it also takes up a permanent skill slot on your bar. You will be using corpses as just an incredibly core mechanic to the class as a whole and any situation where you struggle to create corpses will be a situation where you struggle to succeed. That said again, Necromancer will still do great they just have low mobility, less tankiness in the proper tanky classes, and less variety available to them to adapt to different kinds of content.
