It seems we're likely to have the 10.0.7 patch of WoW Dragonflight in March, which means it's time to get ready. So let's touch on what things you could do if you wanted to prepare for it ahead of time!
Actually, the Dragonflight 10.0.7 is still a minor content patch, but it does have more to do than 10.0.5 did, it's got a new zone that we've been to before but there's going to be content there now beyond just the dragon starting area for Evorker, there will be new dragon races, armor sets, pet battles, more story quests, Elemental invasions in the Forbidden Reach, and more changes to classes. So some preparation ahead will surely help you get some advantages once the update rolls around. This brief guide is for those of you who want to jump into what 10.0.7 has to offer because there are a few small prerequisites.
Prep Tip 1 - Get 50 Level Characters for Orc and Human Heritage Armor
To pick up the quests for these sets, you're going to need a Level 50 character that is exalted with Stormwind or Orgrimmar respectively. The wild blog post doesn't say explicitly that an orc or a human character has to be exalted with the Capitals, we are just going to presume that you do. So in case, you have an orc or human character that is not exalted with these capitals, we think the easiest way to farm it up is to sport the Stormwind or Orgrimmar Tabard which you can find at the faction Quartermasters in your Capital Cities. Throw these on and then jump into Old Vanilla and Burning Crusade dungeons to farm up the Brap pretty quickly.
Pre Tip 2 - Unlock Winterpelt Furball and Get 2050 Rep
The Winterpelt is a new faction in Dragonflight that you can work on to obtain some cosmetics and helpful gear options for people who don't really put too much focus on group content. Unlocking this faction means doing quest lines in the other span that are currently available and completing all of those will get you 2050 reputation with them unless you have like a human rep bonus. So to access the quest to start working on this faction, you're going to need to complete a few storylines down in the Azure Span, these starts in its Watch and Camp Nowhere knock.
These questlines out and you should have these two requirements: Reustpine Den and Winterpelt Hollow completed in the Sojourner meta achievement. A while Head Post indicates that you may also need to complete quests with old Grim tusks and the questline for that, starts over in Rhonin's Shield.
This should make it so that when the patch drops, you'll receive in-game mail from an NPC that'll start this quest to unlock the Winterpelt faction. From testing so far, this unlock is not shared account-wide. But for the most part, the rewards are, so you'll only really need to knock this reputation out.
Pre Tip 3 - Prepare Some 70 Lvl Characters For Vault Keys
The last thing you can consider doing before the patch is to have a bunch of level 70 characters. There's a fun little exploration game in the upcoming Zone where you explore a Vault, and you need a bunch of these keys to open doors where all the goodies are. The Vault keys are mostly earned from farming rares and treasures in the zone, but keys are also tradable account wide, and at the moment the introductory quest line which is just like one or two quests really gives six of these tradable Keys.
Now there is a reasonable chance that these intro keys could change to being sold bound to prevent this clever use of game mechanics, so here's our second reminder that this preparation is very optional. We suggest you level your alts up so you can funnel all of your intro keys to your main spec and they'll be doing all the rare hunting anyway to pass off any of these excess keys or gear and so on and so forth.
Pre Tip 4 - Collect Some Elemental Overflow
You could earn Elemental Overflow ahead of the patch, we can not confirm if you could, but it seems like it's going to be easier to earn in larger quantities, there are quests that will reward a thousand overflow at a time that you can do in the Forbidden Reach, but if you really want to be ahead of the game, you can grind that currency now in the elemental storm events and theoretically be ready to just go shopping in 10.0.7 when it comes out.
Prep Tip 5 - Doing Weekly Objectives To Level Up Alts & Prep For 10.0.7
The weekly objectives can also help you out in preparing for patch 10.0.7. The Darkmoon Fair is happening, so grab those precious profession and knowledge points, also use the rep buffs because you may be trying to get access to those Heritage quests when the patch drops. Tom Lockton is back at this time with Wrath of the Lich King, although unfortunately if you're Tavern farming that does not work with Wrath dungeons, you're going to want to go back to BC and Vanilla dungeons for that. Still, it's a decent way to level alts if you're trying to get them up while actually playing your characters.
The majority of the content that's actually new to do in the 10.0.7 patch of Dragonflight is going to involve going to the new zone, killing the new rares out there, and doing the new Envoy task to get extra reputation and extra bunches of Elemental Overflow to then spend on this vendor, Winterpelt for a bulk faction Nazareth span and then Heritage armor.
