WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Guide: Locations, Ilvls, Challenges, Rewards & Tips

With patch 10.0.5, the Mage Tower has made a return to World of Warcraft Dragonflight. While that doesn't mean we can get the super awesome Legion artifact weapon appearances that were available in the Mage Tower before, there are some sweet rewards that you can get now. In the Dragonflight Mage Tower guide, we want to talk about where the Mage Tower is, what you can get from it and how to do exactly that.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight Mage Tower was released on January 24 on USA Servers and January 25 on European Servers. The Mage Tower, originally from Legion, has returned to Shadowlands using Update 9.1.5. The revamped Mage Tower is open to heroes of Azeroth, who may take on 7 tasks in exchange for loot. Now, you can go complete its challenges and unlock unique transmog, but the most sought-after one in Dragonfight right now is going to be the Fel Wearbear Form that you can unlock by completing the guardian druid encounter against Kruul in the Broken Shore Mage Mage Tower. Next, we go over WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower locations, item levels, challenges, loots, and tips to get them.

WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Locations

If you are strident in Valdrakken, there are multiple ways to get there. 

-If you have your Dalaran Hearthstone, you can just go ahead and use that and go straight to Dalaran. 

-You can also go over to the Dalaran Portal, which is in Valdrakken, and go to Dalaran. 

Routes

Now it's in the same location that it was in Legion, it is just to be right of Dalaran and on the Broken Shore. In the encampment area where you have to build buildings and research things, the Mage Tower is there inside Legionfall. So go east of your spawn in Dalaran and go down for the Mage Tower which is from Krasus' Landing, just go down to the floating island. Underneath the floating island, you want to go to the hill down and that is where your Legionfall Camp is going to be. You fly down and you will find the Mage Tower. It's the base of the broken tower at the top of the encampment. So fly down and there are some other things you can get from Legion if you want to.

WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Item Level

Legion gear got changed and Wod gear got changed. Every expansion got totally new scaling of ilvl gear. Your ilvl went down to Wod gear item level 120. That means your gear on it did not scale to Dragonflight ilvl scale. If you want to do Mage Tower in WoW Dragonflight, you have to have gear from Shadowlands or Dragonflight. All other expansions will be at least 60-70 ilvl below the scaling to enter Mage Tower.

-WoD Gear 120 ilvl

WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Rewards & Loots

Unfortunately, you cannot get the weapon appearances that were available in Legion, but every class and spec complete the Mage Tower and get special transmogs. The thing that you'll unlock is a recolor of the skin set, the armor set you got from Tomb of Sargeras. However, you cannot unlock other classes' transmog appearances. You have to do it with that class even though classes share the same encounter or the same challenge in the Mage Tower, you will still have to go do it in every class if you want their transmog appearance.

Additionally, if you missed out on the Fel Wearbear Form for Druid in Legion, you will be able to get the Fel Wearbear Form. This one is available for completing the Guardian Druid Mage Tower challenge encounter against Kruul. Once you finish that, unlock it, and you'll get both the transmog appearance that we just talked about as well as the Fel Wearbear Form.

WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Challenges

What you're looking for is the Mage Tower Kirin Tor War Councilor Victoria at the base of the Mage Tower. You talk to her and she will have one thing that you can access and that's going to be “I'm ready to face X” whatever your specialization is. There are seven of them total and completing all seven of them will give you a special unique mount. You don't have to do it for every class, you just have to have defeated each of the challenges just the Mage Tower in Dragonflight offers, you'll unlock the special mount (Soaring Spelltome), and you'll also unlock the transmog after completing all classes. If you do it for Druid, you can get the wear bear form which is the only way right now to get wear bear if you didn't get it in Legion.

Challenges for each class

1. "Closing the Eye" - Arms Warrior, Frost Death Knight, Havoc Demon Hunter, Survival Hunter, and Subtlety Rogue.

2. "An Impossible Foe" - Elemental Shaman, Feral Druid, Fire Mage, Fury Warrior, Outlaw Rogue, and Unholy Death Knight.

3. "The God-Queen's Fury" - Arcane Mage, Assassination Rogue, Demonology Warlock, Enhancement Shaman, and Retribution Paladin.

4. "Feltotem's Fall" - Beast Mastery Hunter, Destruction Warlock, Discipline Priest, and Windwalker Monk.

5. "The Highlord's Return" - Blood Death Knight, Brewmaster Monk, Guardian Druid, Protection Paladin, Protection Warrior, and Vengeance Demon Hunter.

6. "End of the Risen Threat" - Holy Priest, Holy Paladin, Mistweaver Monk, Restoration Druid, and Restoration Shaman.

7. "Thwarting the Twins" - Affliction Warlock, Balance Druid, Frost Mage, Marksmanship Hunter, and Shadow Priest

WoW Dragonflight Mage Tower Tips

Now a few notes about the Dragonflight Mage Tower challenges, they are in general quite challenging, and we'll take some prep to get them just right since each one is different. There are some ways that you can cheat if you really want to get it done the easy way. It will equalize your gear, it will equalize your stats, but you are able to bring in your own build, you're able to bring in your own trinkets and special effects. Some people bring drums for bloodlust if they don't have them. You can bring potions, you can bring flasks and files. You can do all sorts of things and you can modify your build as well to fit your needs. Mage Tower in Dragonflight is actually in general much easier than it was in Legion, just because there are more options available with the talent tree system than there were back then.
