Ulduar’s release date has finally been confirmed, and this marks the release of the next phase WoW Classic WotLK. There will be come changes to Ulduar involving upgrading the gear and raid drops while making boss fights more difficult. With that, here’s everything about Ulduar in WotLK phase 2, bosses, changes, updates, as well as some Ulduar preparation tips.  

WotLK Phase 2 Ulduar Release Date - When Will Ulduar Release for WoW WotLK 

It’s officially announced that Ulduar is coming out on January 19th, 2023, just 2 days after the new phase’s launch. This gives us a week to get ready and prepare for the raid. 

For North Americal Realms and that is going to be 3 P.M PST, the same time that every global release has been in the past for Classic. That is also going to be 6 P.M Eastern as well as midnight EU. So it’ll be at midnight, a late gaming launch for a lot of EU player.

Updates & Changes in Ulduar WotLK Phase 2

There’s going to be a few changes that come on the very first day, the 17th or on reset for your current realm, because you get into the patch itself earlier than the release of the raid. 

Dungeon & Raid Emblem Changes

The big changes that you no longer get heroism which is what you are getting from normal heroics, now you are getting emblems of Valor. So you can farm emblems of Valor from your heroics and as well Titan rune dungeons are officially releasing and the big thing here is that you can target what loot you want to get. These are harder versions of normal heroic dungeons, but the bosses actually drop loot from 10 man raids and they have loot tables (Click here to find best loots in Ulduar). This also means that 10-man raids will drop your 25-man raid loot tables, so you can go in and farm your 10 mans if you don’t have some of those big items. 

Arena Season 6 

It is releasing also on this date January 17th, so Arena season will be closed what we have right now for this one week and then the new Arena season 6 will launch out on next week’s Tuesday or next week’s reset for your region. It’s a very simple and easy thing to not have to worry about if you don’t PvP, but your arena points will be transferred over to honor if you wait too long. So for this week, make sure you are buying whatever gear pieces you can at a discounted price.

WoW WotLK Ulduar Preparation Tips - Things To Do Before Ulduar WotLK Phase 2

These are tips to make insane gold when Ulduar launches. However, you can start preparing for Ulduar now to take advantage of it even more. 

1. Take Advantage of Alts

Alts aren't just all about having more characters at level 80 because you can generate them into gold making machines. For instance the more high level, characters you have with their cooking leveled up, that means you can do the daily quest in Dalaran to make extra gold every day with absolutely zero effort. You can give them up in guild alt runs and pog runs and then sign them up as a pumper in GDKP runs for even easier gold. Plus there's another insane way to make gold on the Ulduar launch.

If you are just making gdkp or to recommend having an easy class to play, first of all, one that you don't have to really min max, so that rules out something like the Affliction Warlock or join as a Healer if you want to increase the chances of you getting into these gdkp rosters without the expectation of you having to spend gold.

2. Max Professions

When you finish leveling your professions to max, Ulduar drops new recipes for you to craft, and crafting them early on will give you a good power spike, which means if you are a passing try hard chaser, you can put yourself an advantage early on and a better position to get better passes or at least your guild members at that advantage, because most pass chasers have dual crafting and engineering. The faster you can get your guild geared up early on means faster kill times on your second clear, and therefore better passes. So obviously, it has to be a group effort. But you don't want to be stuck there with your profession just leveled up to the point to get a profession bonus rather than having it maxed. So you can craft the recipes that dropped from Ulduar.

3. Stockpile Raid

Stockpiling some raiding consumes. Everything is going to go up by a country mile when Ulduar drops, so prep everything you're going to need. What you always need is a lot of haste potions normally if you're a DPS. So all your consumes for raid, but also gear upgrades like the enchants you're going to need, the gems, you may as well buy them now, stockpile them a little bit while they are cheaper because when you are going to get those upgrades in the future and then put them on your gear, they're going to be probably inflated by 20 to 50% value. If you're an auction house Goblin, you can start to stockpile stuff to resell. Just be mindful that many other people get the same idea and will likely flood the auction house when the next patch drops.

Overall, just spend as much gold as you're willing to risk but just know there's a chance that you will lose money if you buy too much of the same resource for a resell. Normally, when a new phase comes out, the prices stay the same or go cheaper because people stockpile oven flow the auction house, but wait until around about week 2 or week 3 to start selling. At the same time, if price is really good now, then just sell now, don't stockpile and wait for a chance of the prices to get bitter. If a good now, take advantage of it.

4. Arcane Bombs

Also buy some Arcane bombs now while they are cheap, these help out a lot on all to our tracks. So if you're guild of certain members from your guild, join together to at least buy a few of these, you'll make your runs much smoother because then you'll avoid wipes or half wipes on trash mobs which obviously takes up a lot of time. The reason why these Arcane bombs are so good is because they silence enemies and there's a lot of lethal caster enemies in Ulduar. And a lot of people will probably get the same idea and this means that Arkham Knight buyers, Ironweb Spider Silk, Thorium Bars and maybe Runecloth will go up in price next phase. So it would be a good idea to farm those resources now before Ulduar comes out, because that's probably when the Death Knight bots are going to be farming over Thorium Ores in the open world until they're dominating the market if they're not already.

5. Last Sneaky Trick

This is not actually a prep tip technically, it's a tip to make insane WotLK gold when Ulduar launches. However, you can start preparing for this now to take advantage of it even more. So if you're not an ultra sweaty person rather make some gold on launch, don't use your badges of conquest on gear. Resist the urge to get better gear upgrades and use all of your emblems on runed orbs instead, within the first week of launch after two resets you can get 3 runed orbs and sell them for easy insane gold on the auction house. Obviously for every alt, you have level 80 that'll be another free orbs, providing you can complete order on both 10 man and 25 mode, most semi-hardcore guilds will be capable of this.  

When it comes to this method, remember when Ulduar launches the first day, that is when the items are going to be at the absolute most expensive at any day from there on, it's going to start degrading. So take advantage of this as early as you can.
