WoW Dragonflight 2023 Roadmap & Schedule - Everything Coming to Dragonflight in 2023
World of Warcraft posted on their social media and on their website the awesome image of just the road map of Dragonflight, giving us a peek behind the curtain and a look to the future of what is in store for us in Dragonflight in patch 10.1 and 10.2. And the subsequ.nt smaller patches which are also coming and most of these patches are were unknown and getting all of this detail and stuff is just unheard of in Blizzard. We've never had a road map quite like this before and it's just another massive win for the Warcraft team releasing this out and letting us know what is coming up. This was accompanied by a post covering a little bit more detail of why they've released this and what they want to do and what their plan is going forward for 2023 in Dragonflight. Now let’s get to learn the road map for World of Warcraft, patch updates, season 2 & season 3 releases, new raids, new zones, new mythic+ dungeon pools, everything coming to WoW 2023.
There are a total of 6 content patches coming in 2023:
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.0.5
The first patch 10.0.5 we're going to get in the winter of 2023 probably going to be around late January time. Now 10.0.5 is currently on the PTR with the Trading Post being one of the main features of that. This is a great system for casual players or just people that enjoy collecting cosmetics and unique rewards. Another feature mentioned on the patch 10.0.5 slate is the Primalist Tomorrow. This is a zone that you can go to in retail, it's essentially part of the bronze Dragonflight area, you just go for a portal, it's a little bit Bare Bones, so in 10.0.5 this is going to be just expanded on, there's going to be some rewards, there is a data mine mount as well. Also gray and white transmog items are coming in 10.0.5, the way this is working essentially all white and gray items will now be bind when equipped. So save all your gray items right now or keep an eye out for them once 10.0.5 launches at the end of January.
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7
The next patch we are going to get is 10.0.7. This has 3 major features and some minor features.
Return to Forbidden Reach: Holly did mention the Return to the Forbidden reach in her post, she basically said that it's going to be a new quest campaign with repeatable world content, as the dracthyr returned to their place of confinement (along with some unexpected guests) and the dracthyr will learn about their Origins and their Destiny. And this content will set up the next major patch of Dragonflight by its conclusion. So we will definitely know by the end of the 10.0.7 campaign where 10.1 is going.
- Human & Orc Heritage Armor: Heritage armors are finally returning to the game with human and orc heritage armors coming in 10.0.7, so looking forward to that.
- Holiday Updates: We're getting some updates to the holiday system in WoW.
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.1
We'll go into patch 10.1 season 2 of Dragonflight. This is slated between Spring and Summer, so that drops maybe April or May time. 10.1 will include a new zone, a new raid, a new PVP season, a new Mythic+ pool, profession updates and user interface improvements. We don’t know what the new zone is, maybe an underground zone, this was speculated through some data mine stuff back in the beta, so we could be going underground in 10.1. from the Forbidden reach of dracthyr. Also, we're going to get the other 4 Dragonflight dungeons in season 2, and for legacy dungeons we'd love to see Mists of Pandaria, Scarlet Monastery or Scotland's coming in there. For profession updates, potentially archeology would be fun to see that come in and obviously just natural updates with the season an increased item level and maybe some new items and things like that to craft would be a lot of fun. We'll have more specific details with the official announcement of 10.1 into like some stream or whatever it is.
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.1.5
Rolling into summer 2023, we're going to get patch 10.1.5, this includes a new megadungeon. Previously, we'd get the mega dungeon quite early on and then that will be split in Mythic+, now it doesn't look like the mega dungeon is coming in 10.1, they could always change that but it does look like it is coming in 10.1.5. Also there is an update to world events, they seem to love reusing The Invasion system quite a lot, so maybe we'll get like some sort of dragon invasions in 10.1.5 as well as content and system updates, that's just a general blanket term for various things they've got planned.
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.1.7
After 10.1.5 in the fall of 2023, we are going to be looking at 10.1.7. This will include new story and quest updates, so some more stories to play through and some quests similar to for return to the Forbidden reach. There will also be a holiday refresh, the holiday system is such a great system in the game. Also content and system updates are coming in patch 10.1.7.
2023 Dragonflight Patch 10.2
At the end of the year we are getting a brand new patch and that is patch 10.2. This will include a new zone, a new raid, a new PVP season, a new Mythic+ dungeon pool, could include the mega dungeon, some Legacy dungeons as well. And of course additional content and features which is just a general blanket term of general features they're probably planning and don't want to reveal just yet with 10.2.
