WoW Dragonflight Healer Class Tier List & Ranking

WoW Dragonflight Healer Changes & Why Healer is Meta in Mythic+

The huge change in healing-related skills makes Healer meta in WoW Dragonflight, so before diving into our tier list, let's talk about the main changes that make the healing class greater in Dragonflight Mythic+:

Healing Requirements - A Healer has to heal now this kind of concept has been diluted throughout the expansions because you do have to deal damage as a Healer, you do have to provide utility and healing requirements again. If you look at Season 3 in Shadowlands and in Mythic+, the healing requirement was really low, every single healer was able to meet the healing requirement in every single dungeon, this led to other aspects playing a bigger or more important role in terms of determining what healer is going to be great - AKA damage, and all the sudden healers that could provide the most damage whether it's going to be through their personal DPS by dealing damage or providing utility something like Power Infusion.

Healer Checks - Healers are only perceived to be meta based on the content that they're doing, if they're doing a Mythic plus content or rating content that requires a huge amount of healer checks, there is going to be a different Community perception around that. If you keep people alive, it doesn't matter how much damage, you will kill the boss and he will time the key. Or do you want to go back to season 3 where you're spending probably the majority of your time dpsing and a lot of the times you almost feel like an off-healer.  Healers do have to provide damage and the highest content if you're trying to push high meticulous keys or trying to do a Mythic rating. Again if you're not meeting the DPS check, healer DPS is going to be a thing and that involves evaluating healers through DPS output whether that's going to be true direct means of healer just doing damage or providing utility like power infusion or holy Paladin's God Blessing of Summer and we have to see what is the total DPS value from that.

Utility - Certain healers have better utility now. Every healer provides something in terms of utility but not everyone is made equal and this is where we're going to Evoke because Evoker is a new healing class being introduced in Dragonflight and where does an evoker fit in terms of niche and utility?

WoW Dragonflight M+ Healer Tier List & Ranking

With these changes in mind, now let's rank the Healer Specs to figure out the most meta Healer in WoW Dragonflight:

WoW Dragonflight Healer Ranking - S Tier

1 - Restoration Druid (S Tier)

The Druid Restoration is excellent when it comes to maintaining a constant flow of care across multiple targets of a raid. It also offers big bursts of care after using its cooldowns. Restoration Druids also do the job when caring for a small number of targets for an extended period of time, such as players suffering from debuffs. The Restoration Druid usually suffers when it has to react to damage for which it was not prepared and when it has not had time to configure its HoTs in advance. Tranquility and Fulfillment offer strong healing when needed.

In Dragonflight, the Druide Resto plays quite similarly to what we did in Shadowlands. We keep all the tools that made us strong while having better access to some powerful tools that we could not afford in the old talent system, such as Germination. We have more choices and access to interesting passive DPS while maintaining the extremely fun overall style of play that we are used to using.

Pros & Cons

  • + Many high-impact cooldowns, like Tranquility, Incarnation: Tree of Life, and Flourishing.

  • + Able to offer good care in motion.

  • + Retains big heal even in widespread situations.

  • + Very good tank healer.

  • + Very good survivability.

  • + Very decent damage if you orient yourself on it.

  • - Lacks raid-wide damage reduction.

  • - Punitive if you miss your cooldowns.

  • - Little damage in raids.

2 - Preservation Evoker

The Preservation Evoker is the healer of the two Dracthyr specializations. He is not the best healer in World of Warcraft, but he is very strong in Mythic+ Dungeons, as he also deals good damage. For healing, he has two empowerment spells at his disposal, as well as several differently functioning healing spells. It is even possible for him to divide high damage to allies over a longer period of time. If no healing is needed, he has attack abilities against multiple enemies and individual targets.

Pros & Cons

  • + He is very mobile

  • + He has many and strong defensive cooldowns

  • + He is strong in Mythic+ dungeons

  • - Using the empowerment spells takes some getting used to

  • - The range of the skills is very small

  • - His abilities have high cooldowns

  • - This class is only available as a playable class for the Draktyr race.

WoW Dragonflight Healer Ranking - A Tier

1 - Holy Paladin

Sacred Paladins are a specialization that has many damage reductions and defenses. You specialize in specific target care in a significant way. You get Light Guide at level 16, which allows you to heal a specific target while healing another ally in need. In addition to mana, you will also have an additional resource called Sacred Power. You generate them with most of your spells and spend them with the most powerful treatments like Word of Glory or Light of Dawn.

Pros & Cons

  • + Powerful single-target healing spells.

  • + Powerful passive healing on the tank.

  • + Good personal defenses including immunity.

  • + Powerful external defenses like Blessing of Sacrifice and Blessing of Protection.

  • + Good damage abilities.

  • + Grants Aura of Devotion, a raid-wide damage reduction specific to Paladins. Can be enhanced by Aura Mastery.

  • - Low mobility.

  • - Low burst healing AoE ability.

  • - Reliance on cooldowns, especially Vengeful Wrath.

  • - Low impact on mana consumption.

2 - Discipline Priest

The Disc Priest is the Heal DPS Spec of this WoW class. In this specialization, we heal our allies by dealing damage to enemies. If this is not enough, we heal them with direct healing spells. The Discipline Priest is a damage dealer and healer in one. The passive effect Atonement causes allies to be healed while the Discipline Priest deals damage. Added to this are his strong absorption abilities, which he uses to reduce incoming damage. Discipline Priest has high thought for damage and healing, lower turning in WoW Dragonflight. Also, it comes with excellent group utility (BoP/SW, Fort/Devo, Feathers, Grip, Sac)

Pros & Cons

  • + Big bursts of care in a very short period of time.

  • + Solid cooldowns that improve the effectiveness of care on the group (via absorption or damage reduction).

  • + Very good in spot healing during raids.

  • + Very good for healing tanks thanks to shields.

  • + Provides significant damage at a fairly low cost.

  • + Decent mobility, with spells that can be cast in motion.

  • - Urgent and raid-scale care is weaker than other types of care.

  • - The mistakes of the Discipline Priest are very punitive.

  • - The bar is high before being selected for raid care.

  • - Few options for personal survival.

  • - Low movement options, without improving basic travel speed.

  • - You have to stay within range of enemies to damage them.

WoW Dragonflight Healer Ranking - B Tier

1 - Holy Priest

The Sacred Priest is a fantastic healer, extremely responsive, especially suitable when it comes to treating many players, as is the case in raids. With a response to virtually any type of damage, he always has a tool in hand to handle the situation. Sacred Priests are better equipped for AoE/raid care, where they demonstrate excellent performance. That said, they are also capable of healing single targets. Most of the Sacred Priest's strongest spells require standing still to be cast, which requires some vision of upcoming events to play optimally. This means that periods of intense movement can sometimes be punitive and need to be planned in advance.

Pros & Cons

  • + Excels at single-target healing in Dragonflight.

  • + Excellent responsiveness, with great flexibility for direct healing or AoE.

  • + Unique cooldown-based style that provides regular bursts of healing.

  • + Powerful group cooldowns.

  • + Very good group utilities.

  • - Using the multitude of short cooldown healing abilities cleanly and consistently can be difficult for new players to manage.

  • - Poor healing when players need to scatter.

  • - A deficit in terms of damage reduction compared to other healers.

2 - Mistweaver Monk

The Mistweaver Monk is a melee healer. The Mistweaver specialization is versatile, and there are different talent choices to meet raid requirements. The Mistweaver can therefore very well heal both the tank and the raid. Depending on the talent choices, the Mistweaver Monk can be an unparalleled healer for the tank, with excellent area-of-effect flow, but can also take care of the raid's mobile DPS. The Mistweaver Monk can both heal a single target or act as a group healer with his AoE. The spec has this strange that it can heal its allies by doing damage to its enemies. The changes made for Dragonflight are numerous. You will be able to heal more allies and the new talent system will offer you many interesting new combinations. Some dreams have come true.

Pros & Cons

  • + A large capacity of permanent healing on a single target.

  • + Extremely mobile. In addition, its melee aspect will prevent it from being the target of certain mechanics.

  • + Able to take hits due to the large amount of cooldowns allowing him to reduce the damage taken.

  • + Able to cast many healing spells while moving.

  • + Excellent mind control skills.

  • - Mana management can be challenging.

  • - The learning curve can be a bit steep for players who don't know the specialization, especially those who don't know the melee, where you have to - Pay close attention to the orientation of the bosses and the position of the tanks.

  • - While sustained care on a single target is great, it is extremely mana-intensive.

WoW Dragonflight Healer Ranking - C Tier

1 - Resto Shaman

The Restoration Shamans use water care and their totem poles, keeping the group members alive with the help of mana. Double view allows you to observe what is happening from a long distance and Astral Reminder gives you access to an additional hearthstone.  This specialization has a wide variety of spells and tools, most of which are most effective when players stay close to each other. Restoration with access to time-based and single-target healing spells, accompanied by powerful recharge times that easily pull you out of dangerous situations, utilitarian abilities, and the ability to return mana to you and your party. You can move quickly with the Ghost Wolf form, but cannot cast spells when transformed. While the undertuned DPS holds this spec back, passive DPS (via Acid Rain/FS/LvB) procs) is low, active is tied to casting which is subject to a significant interruption!

Pros & Cons

  • + Specializes and excels in group care, but is always effective when players are scattered.

  • + Raid recharge times that do not need to be channeled.

  • + Extra combat resurrection with Ancestral Protection Totem, which does not count towards the limit. Can be used as a defensive tool or a deliberate sacrifice in order to reduce certain mechanics.

  • + Thanks to the spirit walker allows you to cope with certain mechanics related to movement, unlike other healers.

  • + Great survivability.

  • - No recharge time for tanks, requires raw care.

  • - Long incantation time outside of recharge times.

  • - Low contribution to damage.
