What is D2R Rotting Fissure?

Rotting Fissure is a Necromancer Poison and Bone skill in Diablo 2. When cast, the skill creates a line of fissures on the ground that deal poison damage over time to any enemies standing on them. The fissures can be placed up to a certain distance away from the Necromancer, and multiple fissures can be created in a row.

The amount of damage dealt by Rotting Fissure increases with each skill point invested in the Poison and Bone tree, and can also be further enhanced by items that boost poison damage or Necromancer skills. In addition to its damage-dealing capabilities, Rotting Fissure can also be used strategically to control enemies' movement, forcing them to move around or avoid the poisonous fissures.

Overall, Rotting Fissure is a powerful and versatile skill that can be effective both as a primary damage-dealing tool and as a way to control the battlefield. It is particularly effective against enemies that are vulnerable to poison damage, and can be a valuable addition to any Necromancer's arsenal.

How to Get a D2R Rotting Fissure?

  • Choose the Necromancer class when creating your character or respec your current Necromancer character to the Poison and Bone skill tree.

  • Level up your Necromancer character until you reach level 6, which is the minimum level required to unlock the first skill in the Poison and Bone tree.

  • Allocate at least one skill point to the first skill in the Poison and Bone tree, called Teeth. Teeth is a prerequisite skill for Rotting Fissure, so it must be learned before you can progress to Rotting Fissure.

  • Once you have learned Teeth, you can allocate skill points to Rotting Fissure as you level up your character. Rotting Fissure is the third skill in the Poison and Bone tree, and requires a minimum of 12 skill points to reach its maximum level.

  • You can also obtain Rotting Fissure by purchasing a skill book from a vendor, or by finding one as a drop from enemies or as loot in chests or other containers. Skill books instantly grant a single skill point to the skill they contain, allowing you to learn or upgrade Rotting Fissure without having to wait to level up your character.
