Welcome to our WoW Classic TBC Phase 3 Hunter Best in Slot Guide, in this post, we're diving into what is absolute BiS for Beast Mastery Hunter and Survival Hunter in Phase 3 with and without PVP gear, afterwards, we'll take a look at when and how you can transition from Tier 5 to T6, as well as some of the differences between beast mastery and survival hunters.
Starting in phase 3, we now have access to the armor pen and haste gear for Beast Mastery Hunter. Depending on whether your bosses, you're going to be fighting have 6200 armor or 7700 armor, your beer skater set will look slightly different. In a perfect world, you would aim to acquire all these items so you can just swap gear sets between bosses as required however this is highly unrealistic so you should just focus on a single biscuit set and work towards it. The first gear set we're going to look at is absolute bisque 7700 armor bosses.

Early 2 Piece Tier 6 Transition
There are several ways we can go about reaching two-piece two or six early, and that's using either the shoulders and gloves or your shoulders and legs, and sets have been made to show the possibility for having either the largest weapons or twin blade whatever way you were able to pick up in phase 2. Other pieces of gear you're going to be swapping around to make the transition possible for early two-piece or six include the Edgewalker Longboots and either Ring of Lethality, Garona's Signet Ring, or Ring of a Thousand Marks. Anyway, don't forget to prepare some WoW Classic TBC gold for it.
Early 4 Piece Tier 6 Transition
Having Surestraight Goggles v2.0 can be very helpful in maintaining your hit cap.
Here we are going to look at what should you prioritize the Mcgill's three-item wishlist or glute list, whatever your guild works with. The real answer is there is no cut and dry three items that you should really be aiming for, this can change depending on what your personal gear situation is at the time of face you're releasing, If you have the items mentioned earlier in the guide that allow you to transition at Tier 6 immediately, you should be putting Tier 6 gloves, shoulders, and Cursed Vision of Sargeras at the top of your list. If you don't have the required items, however then your highest priority is going to be Cursed Vision of Sargeras, Stormrage Signet Ring, and Madness of the Betrayer, this will provide you with your best setup for your hit rating. However, if you do choose to prioritize these items, keep in mind that they're all highly contested by many other classes, and expecting all three before anybody else really isn't realistic. We also recommend picking a Halberd of Desolation as a temporary weapon to help you with your hit cap early on if you need it, however, we wouldn't put this high up on your wish list as there's not going to be any other classes contesting you for it and it's more or less is going to be a free item pickup.
Look at what is absolutely best for phase 3 and some of the differences between beast mastery and survival hunters afterwards we'll take a look at when and how you can transition from tier 5 to tier 6 and then we'll take a look at items individually in each gear slot and discuss a few good high priority items as well as a few good alternatives in each slot and finally at the end of the video we'll go over what you should prioritize if your guild runs a wish list or uses a website such as that like the base in phase 3 we now have access to the armor pen gear.
One major thing we want to remind everybody is that survival hunters are not just buff but you can do very good personal DPS while still providing excellent exposed weakness values and uptime. With that being said, we're going to start taking a look at what is absolute BiS and for survival, there's no need to worry about swapping between 6200 and 7700 armored bosses.

Off Hand: Blade of Infamy

Chest: Gronnstalker's Chestguard (Socketed with 1 Delica Crimson Spinal and 2 Jagged C-Spray Emeraldas)

There are several ways you can go about reaching two-piece two six early and that's using either the shoulders and gloves, the helmet gloves, or the helmet shoulders. The best option is the same as mastery hunters which are aiming for your shoulders and gloves first, the biggest difference for survival hunter compared to beast mastery hunter is that when switching from a two-piece to six early, so having your sure-footed talon allows you to transition into heroes much easier without having to switch other pieces of gear around for hit rating.
What should you prioritize your guild's three-item wishlist? This is quite a bit easier than beast mastery hunters, as you're not going to be concerned with hit cap constrictions and can easily move into Tier 6 early. We recommend aiming for immediately and putting at the top of your list would be Tier 6 shoulders, gloves, and Madness of the Betrayer, this is a very realistic expectation to ask for. And from there we would then extend your list of bow stitched leggings, tier 6 helm, the chest, and Insidious Bands.
One of the major differences compared to the beast mastery hunters is that unfortunately, all the good armor pen gear is bad for survival hunters, outside of Tier 6 and Madness of the Betrayer as it lacks a large amount of agility which is going to be crucial for your exposed weakness.
