TOP 5 - Carolina Panthers Playbook

Coming in at number five, we have the Carolina Panthers Playbook, 335 is a formation you can necessarily stay in all game like versus people who like to tote and stuff, it's a very beginner-friendly formation, it's got a lot of speed, you can put safeties in a linebacker. You can also get decent pressure just by sending three, so it has 335, it also has double a ga,p and it has nickel normal, nickel normal is surprisingly good at shedding this year, and it's also just a traditionally really good balance formation. These three nickel sets are all usable, you don't have a 335 wide which to many of you is a deal-breaker.

TOP 4 - Multiple D Playbook

For the number four defensive playbook, we have the Multiple D, it's still a really good playbook to choose from the reason for that is it has both 335 and 335 wide, so if you are aware of what was going on in the meta last year, a lot of people would sub in safeties here at linebacker. What you have to do to substitute is go to the formation, hit wire triangle, and then you have to use your d-pad to go up and down, then you can see the highlighted player. What people would do is audible down to 335 so or 335 wide, and they'll have safeties there at the outside linebacker position, if you look you cannot put them in, so you have to audible down, you do have both of those formations, which is really good. It kind of aligns with what people were doing last year and then you have normal. 

TOP 3 - Baltimore Ravens Playbook

The number three we have is the Ravens defensive playbook, this is a pretty unique playbook, it's kind of similar to the next playbook that we are gonna talk about, the only difference is nickel triple. Nickel triple is going to be pretty good this year, you can get some pretty exotic heat out of it, if you want something unique, you need to mess around with nickel triple. You can do a lot of different kinds of pressure packages, it's a pretty balanced formation overall and it's worth trying out. This doesn't have a 335 normal, so you cannot audible down to the 335 wide, but if you like this as a run defense, it's no problem. You can have the linebackers outside where they're supposed to be, and it'll do just fine, you're just not going to be as good in capacity. Basically, you're not going to have as much speed, but it still has that alignment which is perfect, then you have double a gap and you have 245 both. this is similar to nickel normal, you just have two outside linebackers instead of two defensive ends, a very good formation regardless of if they have their hand entered or not the alignment's slightly different.

TOP 2 - Miami Dolphins/Giants Playbook

Ace Madden gave Miami Dolphins and Giants a tie in second, because they are the exact same playbook. Giants got actually a little bit better this year. It does give two different types of looks there and with MUT in the way that you can customize your personnel, this is very good to have versatility, it also has Big Nickel Over G, which is a great formation. It has your meta defenses, it could be the same as last year we have the Nickel 3-3-5 Wide, you've probably seen this formation and played against this formation a million times. This Giants playbook has the Dime 1-4-6, the Nickel 3-3-5 Wide and then also you throwing Big Nickel Over G, this one is extremely versatile and probably the best option right now to use early in MUT 22. 

TOP 1 - 46 Playbook

The best defensive playbook in Madden 22 could be the 46 Playbook, this is going to be the most popular playbook, it has pretty much everything you need and it also has a unique formation. This one is actually available, you have to complete it through a set in the set section of MUT, but you can get specialty playbooks right off the rip. The live playbooks hopefully will be added later, but the 46 is in there and this one is pretty good. 46 Bear is a good play to run in short-yardage situations, when you think your opponent's going to be running the ball here, you can get some pretty good pressure like wall stun and slant week three.
