In FUT champions, if you want to go towards elite rank and your opponent is holding the ball, and you want to press, you need a formation to do so. Well, the 442 is one for you.
442 Custom Aggressive Attacking Tactics
*defensive style
For the defensive style, you have two options. We would recommend gold players with the balance to pressure on heavy touch and only for elite plus, press off position loss. A lot of people are using this one, but it's not that good. Because a lot of times your players get out of position. So it’s better off using pressure on heavy touch and this way realistically you can press whenever you want to, otherwise, when you use press after possession loss, you'll run out every single time and a good player will count to you. So you need to be good enough to counter. Balanced is also a good one, and if you are new to this, you can use team press in the game as well.
*defensive width
When it comes to the defensive width, we've increased this to six. It's a debatable one because a wider width to cover more areas of the pitch when you're defending, we need to cover as much of the pitch as possible. so make sure you have a width that's good enough that you can press. Because if you have a very narrow and compact width, whereas your opponent is very wide.
*defensive depth
For the defensive depth, we've increased it to seven, you have two options: gold one to elite. If you're like goal three to gold one, you can try seven. But realistically, five is sufficient. Because seven is an auto offside trap. The defensive line tries to make the runs going forward. This is fine if you're a good player, but a lot of players on the lower end are not that good at right stick switching. To have someone either fast at the center back or reduce the depth a little bit.
*offensive style
For offensive style, Choose either balanced or long ball. Balanced is a great choice if you don’t want to rush forward. As for the long ball, if you want playmaking runs in behind, the long ball helps advocate that and getting it behind. But some players prefer to be a bit slower methodical to build up. That's why you might prefer balanced.
*offensive width
For the width, we have gone with five, and don't forget the 442 when you're attacking naturally is quite a wide formation anyway, so do you need to go any wider? It's a bit debatable, but five is a good balance, your players and two strikers, CDMs are far apart enough where you can distribute the ball between them, but also your left mid, right mid to be wide enough, so they can occupy your opponent's left-back and right-back.
*players in the box
The players in the box should go down to four, if you don’t like to cross the ball, there's no need to use any much higher. You can use the instructions to have players getting inside the box.
*corners & free kicks
It's still on one, we don't advocate going higher, because if it is too high, there's a big potential, you can get counterattacked. So do not have it too high. Leave it on one, that way you don't get counterattacks.

*have both the strikers on stay central
Both of the strikers should be in the center because you never want your right striker going towards the right-winger. You can always trigger it manually if you occasionally want him to make it run and going another direction. Two strikers should stay central, to be in the middle, and the left middle and right mid to go down the wing. For the strikers, don't put them in parallel lines together, in a vertical straight line. You can do that, this is a bit easier for the build up play, especially opponent using two CDMs on stay back while attacking.
*the left mid & right mid both on comeback and defense
When it comes to the actual chance creation, you can leave them on balance. Some people like to use them on stay wide. But leave them on balance are also fine, you can always use hug the sidelines if these guys to be wide.
