Mind Over Matter
This Keystone is game-changing for Mana-based builds, especially when combined with Eldritch Battery and Chaos Inoculation. While the recovery penalty is significant, the ability to scale your effective health pool (EHP) through Mana makes it a staple for defensive strategies.
Location: Near the Intelligence and Strength-Intelligence starting areas.
Effect: All damage is taken from Mana before Life, but with 50% less Mana recovery.
Giant's Blood
This keystone requires massive attribute investments, particularly in Strength. However, with POE2’s increased life scaling tied to Strength, this investment has additional benefits, making Giant's Blood a powerful option for creative builds.
Location: Strength area.
Effect: Allows dual wielding of two-handed axes, maces, and swords but doubles the attribute requirements of these weapons.
Whispers of Doom
Excellent for builds that use curses as a core mechanic. The activation delay can be bypassed with specific setups, making it a strong choice for curse-heavy builds.
Location: Top-middle of the tree.
Effect: Grants an additional curse but doubles the standard curse activation delay.
Pain Attunement
Strong for low-life critical builds. Its effectiveness depends on whether mechanics like Petrified Blood are available.
Location: Strength/Intelligence-aligned area.
Effect: Grants 30% more critical damage bonus on low life but reduces this bonus by 30% on full life.
Eldritch Battery
Essential for Mana-intensive builds, especially when paired with Mind Over Matter. It opens up new possibilities for managing Mana.
Location: Intelligence area.
Effect: Converts all Energy Shield into Mana.
Chaos Inoculation (CI)
A staple for Energy Shield-based builds. CI is even better in POE2 due to its immunity to bleeding and poison.
Location: Intelligence area.
Effect: Sets maximum Life to 1 but grants immunity to Chaos damage.
Heartstopper
Excellent for players who can manage their positioning and react quickly to avoid prolonged DoT effects.
Location: Between Dexterity starting areas.
Effect: RReduces damage over time taken by 75% if you’ve started taking damage over time in the past second but increases it by 50% if you haven’t.
Zealot's Oath
Great for hybrid Life/ES builds. Pairs well with Eternal Youth and flat regeneration modifiers.
Location: Near Eternal Youth.
Effect: Excess Life regeneration applies to Energy Shield but prevents Energy Shield recharge.
Iron Reflexes
Reduces damage over time taken by 75% if you’ve started taking damage over time in the past second but increases it by 50% if you haven’t.
Location: Strength area.
Effect: Converts all Evasion Rating into Armor.
Glancing Blows
Ideal for builds leveraging recovery on block. However, it’s less effective with POE2’s active block mechanics, which already provide 100% block chance during shield animations.
Location: Lower part of the tree.
Effect: Doubles block chance but takes 50% damage from blocked hits.
Vaal Pact
Powerful for builds that deal consistent damage and rely on leech for recovery.
Location: Bottom-left of the tree.
Effect: Life leech is instant but disables Life flasks.
Acrobatics
Strong against bosses with powerful slams but may struggle in mapping scenarios due to reduced evasion against numerous incoming hits.
Location: Dexterity area.
Effect: Allows evasion of AoE hits but halves Evasion Rating.
Bulwark
This keystone is excellent for mitigating area-of-effect hits and synergizes with builds that focus on life recovery and consistent damage mitigation.
Location: Opposite Unwavering Stance.
Effect: Removes avoidance frames during Dodge rolls but grants 30% less damage taken during the roll.
Ancestral Bond
Unlocks powerful totem builds but requires significant Spirit scaling.
Location: Totem-focused builds area.
Effect: Removes totem limits, with each totem reserving Spirit.
Avatar of Fire
This keystone requires you to fully convert the remaining 25% of your damage to fire to avoid losing damage potential. It’s ideal for builds aiming to maximize fire damage.
Location: Strength area.
Effect: Converts 75% of all damage types to fire while preventing you from dealing any non-fire damage.
Changes: Now includes the conversion of chaos damage to fire.
Resonance
Enables charge-focused builds by allowing access to specific charge types previously unavailable.
Location: Near Power Charge nodes.
Effect: Swaps charge types (e.g., Power instead of Frenzy).
Unwavering Stance
This keystone pairs well with builds that heavily invest in life scaling, as stun threshold is based on maximum life. However, losing the dodge roll can be a significant drawback in POE2's endgame, where mobility is critical for survival.
Location: Strength area.
Effect: Disables Dodge rolls but doubles stun threshold.
Oasis
With charms serving as ailment mitigation tools, the downside may outweigh the upside unless your build relies heavily on flask recovery.
Location: Dexterity-Strength area.
Effect: Prevents Charm usage but enhances flask recovery.
Necromantic Talisman
Potentially strong for minion builds, depending on available amulet modifiers.
Location: Minion nodes area.
Effect: Applies amulet modifiers to minions instead of the player.
Elemental Equilibrium
No longer provides a larger exposure value but remains strong for builds utilizing mixed damage types with ignites or other elemental ailments.
Location: Intelligence area.
Effect: Removes one type of exposure and applies another.
Eternal Youth
Life recharge delay is increased to 4 seconds but can be mitigated with modifiers. This keystone is powerful for sustaining life recovery in specific builds.
Location: Dexterity area.
Effect: Applies Energy Shield recharge to Life but changes flask recovery.
Conduit
Primarily useful for group play, enabling charge-sharing mechanics.
Location: Intelligence-Dexterity area.
Effect: Allies gain your charges.
