The Midwinter Blight event is back for Diablo 4, running from November 19th to December 3rd, 2024. This special Christmas event brings a variety of farming opportunities, including unique buffs, rare items, and massive farming potential. Here's everything you need to know about what to farm and how to farm during the event, as well as the best farming route for Midwinter Blight in Season 6!
The Midwinter Blight event returns to Diablo 4 from November 19 at 10 AM PST (3 PM UTC) until December 3, 2024. This event is a two-week celebration filled with unique challenges, seasonal rewards, and exclusive buffs to help you enhance your farming efficiency.
The Midwinter Blight event comes with several key features, including:
Mother's Gift Buff: 35% bonus XP and 50% extra Gold.
Red Cloaked Horror: A powerful mini-boss that appears in the Hell Tide and other zones.
Midwinter Ward: A one-time special gift you can claim in Kyovashad.
Gillian's Brew: A powerful elixir with increased damage, bonus XP, and additional crafting materials.
Additionally, players can farm Cinders, Gillian's Brew, crafting materials, and unique items.
Now, let's break down the best farming methods and strategies for this event:
1. Cinder Farming in Helltide
Helltide is the best place to farm Cinders during the event. Cinders are a key currency used to open chests in Hell Tide zones, which contain high-tier loot, crafting materials, and more.
How to Farm:
Blood Maiden Farming: During the event, summoning the Blood Maiden in Hell Tide spawns Midwinter Blight enemies that drop an insane amount of Cinders. Players have reported collecting thousands of Cinders in just a few minutes.
Zone-Wide Cinder Drops: Cinders drop throughout the Hell Tide zone, not just at the Blood Maiden. Simply ride your mount through the zone and defeat enemies to collect Cinders rapidly.
Tip: It’s possible to farm 20,000 Cinders in around half an hour by repeatedly summoning and killing the Blood Maiden.
2. Gillian's Brew Elixir Farming
Gillian’s Brew is a powerful elixir that drops during the event. It offers:
+20% Damage for 30 minutes.
15% Bonus XP.
Enemies drop additional herbs and crafting materials.
How to Farm:
Red Cloaked Horror: This mini-boss can appear during Hell Tide events, Infernal Hordes, and in dungeons. When killed, it has a chance to drop Gillian’s Brew.
Stock Up: The event ends on December 3rd, but the elixirs can be saved for later use. Be sure to farm as many as you can before the event ends.
3. Midwinter Ward Gift in Kyovashad
Head to Kyovashad to claim a one-time Midwinter Ward Gift. This gift is available once per account and includes several rewards depending on your character's level:
Magic Midwinter Purse: Level 20.
Rare Midwinter Purse: Level 40.
Greater Midwinter Purse (Ancestral): Level 60.
What’s Inside:
Each purse contains a mix of valuable rewards, including:
Gold.
Crafting Materials (Veiled Crystals, Iron Chunks, etc.).
Runes (e.g., Jah, Ith).
Nightmare Dungeon Keys and Infernal Horde Keys.
Unique Items (with a chance for Uber Uniques).
Tip: Make sure to claim this gift on your most-played character, as it's a one-time reward.
4. Legion Events and Crafting Material Farming
The Legion Event received a significant buff during the patch, making it another excellent source of crafting materials like Rawhide and Iron Chunks.
Legion Event: During the event, you can farm 300–600 Rawhide and Iron Chunks per event. Keep an eye out for these events on the world map and participate to bulk up your crafting supplies.
5. Uber Uniques and Red Cloaked Horror
Another exciting feature of the event is the chance to farm Uber Uniques. The Red Cloaked Horror can drop Shattered Veil, a new Uber Unique that enhances damage over time, making it particularly strong for DoT builds.
Red Cloaked Horror: Appears in Hell Tide, Infernal Hordes, and dungeons, challenging players with a difficult fight but rewarding them with high-level loot, including Uber Uniques.
6. Gillian’s Brew Stacking and Material Farming
By combining Gillian’s Brew and the Green Opal of Materials, players can "double dip" in farming materials during the event—resulting in huge amounts of crafting resources.
Double Material Drops: Gillian’s Brew increases material drops from enemies, and stacking this with the Green Opal of Materials results in significantly more crafting materials, such as Rawhide and Iron Chunks.
7. Conduit Pylon and Other Buffs
The Conduit Pylon now deals massive damage, scaling with your Paragon level. This makes it a great tool for speeding through content while farming during the event.
Paragon Scaling: At Paragon 300, the Conduit Pylon can deal up to 100 million damage.
8. Spiritborn Free Trial
If you haven’t purchased the Vessel of Hatred expansion yet, Blizzard is offering a free trial of the Spiritborn class during the Midwinter Blight event. You can play Spiritborn for free until you reach level 25 or the event ends.
Free Spiritborn: Test out the Spiritborn class and its unique abilities during the event. Your progress carries over if you purchase the expansion.
The Midwinter Blight event is packed with opportunities to farm valuable loot, materials, and experience. Make sure to take full advantage of the event before it ends on December 3rd, 2024!
