Rocket League Next-Gen Version: Improvements On Xbox Series X/S & PS5

The Rocket League Next-Gen Version is not here yet but has been announced for some time. But what can Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5 owners expect from the version? We don't know all the details yet, but Psyonix has already revealed some technical specifications that will be introduced this year.

Next-gen console owners can already look forward to faster loading times, improved split-screen performance, and, of course, services progress that has been taken over, but more is in preparation. Depending on your platform, the following improvements should be made in 2020.

Rocket League Xbox Series X

At the launch of the Xbox Series X, Rocket League is already running there with 4K resolution in 60 FPS, including HDR. An update will follow later this year, in which users will be able to choose between quality and performance mode in the video options.

Quality mode:

• 4K resolution at 60 FPS with HDR

• HDR requires an HDR10 compatible display and an HDMI 2.0 cable (or newer) - this is included with the console

• Of course, you also need a 4K display in order to be able to fully use the UHD 4K resolution of the console

Performance mode:

• The game runs in 2688 × 1512 resolution (70 percent of 4K) at 120 FPS and HDR

• Game UI completely in 4K

• For 4K use again a 4K monitor / television is required. With 1080p monitor, the game is rendered by super sampling from 2688 × 1512 to 1080p

• For HDR and 120 Hz you need a compatible output device and an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 cable (included with the console)

Rocket League Xbox Series S

Also on the Xbox Series X, 1080p at 60 FPS with HDR for Rocket League is already available at launch. The console should also be given the opportunity to switch between quality and performance in the game via a later update.

Quality mode:

• 1080p / 60 FPS with HDR (HDR requires HDR10 compatible display)

Performance mode:

• Game runs at 1344 × 756 resolution (70 percent of 1080p) at 120 FPS with HDR

• UI shown in 1080p

• requires TV or monitor with 120 Hz support

• HDR requires HDR10 compatible display and an HDMI 2.0 cable (or newer) - included with the console

Rocket League PlayStation 5

On the PlayStation 5, Rocket League is already offering 4K resolution at 60 FPS including HDR for the console launch.

• Of course, for 4K and HDR you also need a corresponding TV or monitor

• also requires a compatible HDMI cable (included with the console)
