Having builds that can consistently level quickly allows you to gear alternative characters easily to try different Classes or builds later in the season. Moreover, a powerful leveling build gives you confidence and battle-flow early on, which carries momentum and competitive spirit into higher challenge levels. Without further ado, let's check gear and skills for each best Diablo 4 Season 5 leveling build.
S Tier
Firewall Hydra Sorcerer
Firewall Hydra Sorcerer placed in the S-tier as the absolute best D4 S5 leveling builds. Both Firewall and Hydra skills received damage buffs this season, making the build even more powerful. Firewall damage increased by 44% and Hydra damage increased by 10% from previous patches. The playstyle focuses on clearing large packs of enemies with the wide-reaching Firewall AOE damage over time. Hydra provides additional sustained damage while Firewall burns everything down. Enchantress is taken early for orb generation and additional damage buffs. It transitions smoothly into either another Fire build like Fireball or the lightning-focused Chain Lightning starter set build. The large buffs make this a great first season for Sorcerer leveling and power progression.

Minion Necromancer
Minion Necromancer is one of the D4 Season 5 best leveling build. The playstyle involves summoning and scaling multiple minions through skills and passives to do the majority of damage. Very high damage output even while leveling, your minions will be dealing a lot of damage to clear content quickly. Strong survivability due to tanky summons drawing aggro away from you. The minions can act as meat shields while leveling. Your summons do the majority of fighting for you so it's less hands-on than some other leveling builds. Most of the skills and passives directly carry over when respecing into an endgame summoner build. Overall, minion builds are safer, more relaxed and comfortable to level with compared to direct damage builds.

Barrage Rogue
Barrage Rogue is always a strong leveling choice, placing Barrage Rogue in the A tier on our Diablo 4 Season 5 leveling rankings. Barrage Rogue was one of the best builds in the previous season as well, and it remains highly viable for leveling in Season 5. It can also play Flurry Starter set transition. The core damage skill is Barrage, which fires multiple arrows in a cone. It has good AoE for packs and can "shotgun" single targets up close. Barrage works well from both ranged and melee distances, requiring maneuvering. Skills like Puncture apply Vulnerable for damage buffs while generating resources. Movement skills like Dash and mobility from Dark Shroud keep clearing smooth. Combo Points and Consuming Shadows provide good energy sustain for spamming Barrage.

Upheaval Barbarian
Upheaval Barbarian has good buffs then transition into WW. For leveling, they actually matter something. It is recommended as one of the stronger leveling builds for Barbarian in Season 5. Upheaval, the core skill, has received a 15% damage buff which makes it very powerful for leveling. Upheaval relies on skills like Bash, Rallying Cry, Leap and Charge for mobility, fury generation and buffs. The playstyle involves generating fury and then clearing large groups of enemies with Upheaval's ranged frontal cone attack. A two-handed slashing weapon is prioritized for maximum Upheaval damage. Other weapons are used as stat sticks. It transitions well into endgame builds like Whirlwind Barbarian once level 50-60 is reached. Pulverize Druid
Unfortunately, Druid is on the last tier on this D4 Season 5 leveling tier list. Pulverize Druid is not the strongest leveling build overall in Diablo 4 Season 5 but it is one of the strongest for the Druid. Comparison to Sorcerer, Druid always fought short. Even though they did buff the Pulverize by quite a lot which received about double damage buff and Pulverize was already one of the strong leveling builds for the Druid. High area of effect damage from Pulverize and Poison Creeper skills. Pulverize hits in a wide circle in front of the player, while Poison Creeper deals damage in a wide area around the player. This allows for good mob clearing potential while leveling. Strong single target damage from Pulverize's Overpower mechanic and Wolves companion skill. Once you're in World Tier 4 and you're established with your build, Pulverize is pretty good for that.
