Last Epoch 1.0 Class (Mastery) Tier List 2024 - Mage, Sentinel, Acolyte, Primalist, Rogue Mastery Ranking
Last Epoch is a game teeming with a variety of fun and overpowered classes and masteries, offering players a unique selection to choose from. The primary question many of you have is: Which classes and subclasses will offer the highest damage and overall best gameplay experience?
Before we dive into the tier list, let's clarify something important. Last Epoch has five main classes, each with three subclasses. It's essential to view the main classes as a broad category while considering the subclasses as the specific classes you'll play. For instance, if I rank the Necromancer in the S tier and you're interested in playing it, you'll need to select the Acolyte as your main class and then choose the Necromancer as your Mastery subclass.

Last Epoch 1.0 Sentinel Mastery Tier List
Here is our Sentinel ranking for the Last Epoch 1.0 launch after reviewing the overall abilities of the three Mastery subclasses - Void Knight, Forge Guard, and Paladin:
Paladin: Earns (S tier)
Themed around fire damage, healing, and defensive stats like armor and health. Unique in scaling spell damage with a shield. The Paladin shines with skills like Holy Aura, Hammerdin, and Judgment. It's particularly valuable in multiplayer settings and remains versatile and powerful in single-player.
Void Knight (B tier)
Once a powerhouse, the Void Knight now sits in the "B" tier. Multiple nerfs have reduced its dominance, and no buffs appear to be on the horizon. Specializes in void damage and echoes, creating copies of skills after use. Though melee-focused, it also supports throwing skills.
Forge Guard (D tier)
Unfortunately, the Forge Guard is in a less favorable D tier, the only class to be placed here. Other masteries like Void Knight or Paladin offer more compelling gameplay experiences. Focused on physical damage and defensive stats through armor and resistances.
Last Epoch 1.0 Mage Mastery Tier List
Here is our Mage ranking for the Last Epoch 1.0 launch after reviewing the overall abilities of the three Mastery subclasses - Sorcerer, Spellblade, and Runemaster:
Spellblade (S Tier)
The Warlock earns an S tier rating, with the Mad Alchemist's Ladle enhancing its curse-based gameplay. It's a strong contender for the top choice upon release. Combines melee and spellcasting for a unique playstyle with superior ward generation.
Runemaster (A Tier)
Anticipating nerfs, Rune Master is still placed in the A tier. If left unchanged, it could be S tier, but adjustments seem likely. Can cast a vast array of spells through rune combinations, offering nearly limitless possibilities.
Sorcerer (C Tier)
Currently, in the "C" tier, the Sorcerer struggles with class identity, especially compared to the Rune Master. While it can output decent damage, it's overshadowed by other classes. A quintessential spellcaster with strong elemental AOE damage and support for crits and wards.
Last Epoch 1.0 Acolyte Mastery Tier List
Here is our Acolyte ranking for the Last Epoch 1.0 launch after reviewing the overall abilities of the three Mastery subclasses - Lich, Necromancer, and Warlock:
Warlock (S Tier)
The Warlock earns an S tier rating, with the Mad Alchemist's Ladle enhancing its curse-based gameplay. It's a strong contender for the top choice upon release.
Lich (A Tier)
The power of the Lich, currently in the A tier, hinges on the Death Seal ability. If Death Seal receives expected nerfs, the Lich might drop in ranking, but for now, it remains strong. Masters dark arts with a risk-reward playstyle, sacrificing health for increased power.
Necromancer (A Tier)
The Necromancer is a low A tier class. Skeletons and skeleton mages may not match up to the Beastmaster's pets, but the class still offers plenty of strategic gameplay options. Classic minion class with various ways to utilize and sacrifice minions for buffs and damage.
Last Epoch 1.0 Primalist Mastery Tier List
Here is our Primalist ranking for the Last Epoch 1.0 launch after reviewing the overall abilities of three Mastery subclasses - Beastmaster, Shaman, and Druid:
Druid (S Tier)
The Druid climbs to S tier with the Werebear form being incredibly strong and tanky. Notable for transformation abilities and supports physical, poison, cold, and lightning damage. Swarm Blade adds variety, especially when paired with frostbite tornado builds. Despite previous nerfs to bleed builds, the Druid remains a top-tier choice.
Beastmaster (A Tier)
The Beastmaster is currently in a strong position, with a minor exception for the summon bear which could use a buff. Wolves, scorpions, raptors, and sabertooths are all well-balanced, making the Beastmaster a solid A tier class. It focuses on strong companions with unique active skills and buffs.
Shaman (C Tier)
Shaman rests in the C tier, with reworks expected in the upcoming patch. The changes could lead to a higher placement, but for now, the position reflects the unknown. Primarily a totem user with support for cold and lightning damage, and buffs for various elements.
Last Epoch 1.0 Rogue Mastery Tier List
Here is our Rogue ranking for the Last Epoch 1.0 launch after reviewing the overall abilities of the three Mastery subclasses - Bladedancer, Marksman, and Falconer:
Falconer (A Tier)
Slotted into the A tier, Falconer boasts an interesting kit, especially when combined with spear or throwing attacks. Although the full potential of the Falcon isn't clear yet, the class shows promise for fun and effectiveness.
Marksman (A Tier)
Specialized in bow skills with a balanced damage type support. Falconer's explosive trap has given Marksman a boost, potentially moving it from B to A tier. Fixes to issues with bow attacks are also anticipated to improve Marksman's standing.
Bladedancer (B Tier)
Blade Dancer falls into the B tier. It lacks standout features, and skills like flurry and puncture could perform better. However, Shadow daggers are exceptional, and any build incorporating them is still competitive. It embraces a ninja/assassin playstyle with a focus on physical and poison damage.
Here's the overall tier list. When choosing your class, refer back to this guide to help you decide. For instance, if you'd like to play the Druid, you'd select Primalist as your main class and Druid as your subclass.
