Season of Discovery isn't just vanilla classes with a little bit more spice, they are being redesigned from the ground up with a heavy focus on more fun and hybridization. WoW Classic Season of Discovery Best Class & Spec - SoD  PvE & PvP Class Picking Guide

At the end of our Season of Mastery PvP & PvE class picking guide 2024, you should have a better idea of what class to roll or you get so excited that their decision becomes even harder. The theme of this seasonal server is Discovery. They are adding runes to the game which are similar to Legendary fixes in Diablo 4. They will add a class talent or a new ability from the many different WoW expansions and they are assigned to your gear pieces. Next, we dive into WoW Classic SoD best PvP & PvE classes and specs.


1. Druid

PvE: Druids receive significant changes to make all specs viable. Feral Druids get Savage Roar and Mangle, enhancing their DPS. Balance Druids benefit from Star Surge and Sunfire, with the added versatility of using Sunfire in Bear and Cat forms. Healing Druids gain Life Bloom, Living Seed, and Wild Growth, making them versatile hybrid DPS and healers.

PvP: Druids excel in PvP with increased DPS capabilities, and the ability to switch between roles seamlessly. The added abilities enhance their survivability and crowd control, making them formidable opponents.


    2. Hunter

    PvE: Hunters see improvements in their rotations with abilities like Flanking Strike, Cleave, and the option to increase damage by ditching their pets. Various buffs and talents, including the new aspect and pet scaling, make Hunters versatile in raid scenarios.

    PvP: With enhanced melee DPS options and new talents like Sniper Training, Hunters become formidable melee opponents. The option to increase crit chance and unique abilities make them strong contenders in PvP.


    3. Mage

    PvE: Mages become even more versatile with the introduction of hybridization. Arcane Mages take on a healing DPS hybrid role with abilities like Regeneration and Temporal Beacon. Classic Mage abilities, as well as new ones like Arcane Surge, provide diverse playstyles.

    PvP: Mages bring a mix of damage and healing to PvP, making them unpredictable. The addition of iconic Mage talents and spells further enhances their utility in various situations.


    4. Paladin

    PvE: Paladins rejoice as the new runes make Retribution and Protection viable in raiding. Avenger Shield, Crusader Strike, and various other abilities make Paladins more dynamic in PvE scenarios.

    PvP: With added defensive abilities and buffs, Paladins become sturdy opponents in PvP. The ability to debuff fear and interrupt adds to their utility.


    5. Priest

    PvE: Priests see improvements in multiple healing playstyles, and Shadow spec becomes more viable. New abilities like Void Plague and Homing CI provide unique options for both healing and DPS.

    PvP: Priests gain increased viability in AOE DPS with abilities like Void Plague and shared pain. Twisted Faith boosts damage, and classic Priest abilities like Penance and Circle of Healing enhance their PvP capabilities.


    6. Rogue:

    PvE: Rogues focuses on making poisons more viable, and the concept of a Rogue tank becomes plausible. Abilities like Blade Dance, Deadly Brew, and Quick Draw add diversity to Rogue playstyles.

    PvP: Rogues gain versatility with new abilities and improved poisons. The option to turn Blade Flurry into a defensive cooldown and Faint into a taunt makes them resilient in PvP scenarios.


    7. Shaman

    PvE: Shaman meme specs become more viable, with Elemental and Enhancement getting new abilities like Lava Burst and Dual Wield. Healing Shamans gain Ancestral Guidance and other abilities, adding depth to their playstyles.

    PvP: Elemental and Enhancement Shamans become potent in PvP with new offensive and defensive abilities. The option to tank with Shield Mastery and hybrid healing cooldowns makes them unpredictable opponents.


    8. Warlock

    PvE: Warlocks see improvements in dot playstyles and the experimentation with a viable Warlock tank spec. Permanent Metamorphosis, Everlasting Affliction, and other abilities add depth to Destruction, Affliction, and Demonology playstyles.

    PvP: Warlocks gain enhanced AOE capabilities and unique tanking abilities. The option to make Metamorphosis permanent adds to their resilience in PvP scenarios.


    9. Warrior

    PvE: Warriors receive significant changes, removing irritating restrictions. Dual-wielding becomes more powerful with abilities like Frenzied Assault and Single-Minded Fury. New abilities like Consumed by Rage and Filiation add depth to Warrior playstyles.

    PvP: Warriors become even more formidable in PvP with increased attack speed, dual-wielding benefits, and powerful offensive cooldowns. The ability to optimize auto-attack damage with Consumed by Rage and Filiation makes them fearsome opponents.
