Here we have the updated class tier lists for Diablo 4 after the Open Beta and look into which classes will be really good for leveling, PvP, and PvP content at the launch for June. We will also highlight other things about build variation, damage, and hardcore potential, how you will fare with other players in the multi-game and in the open world, and what PVE/PVP content you can expect with those classes.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Leveling
1 - Nercomancer (S Tier)
2 - Rouge (A Tier)
3 - Sorcerer (A Tier)
4 - Barbarian (B Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
Depending on the build and also your adjustment for Barbarian, some parts of the gameplay came very smoothly other parts especially single target could be really difficult until you get to level 24-25 with your special best ultimate. And this is not the case for the Rogue and also sorcs, both of them have some very good starting spells and they're very mobile, very flexible, and have great damage. One of the highlights will be the Necromancer is at a very low-level Necromancers have skeletons, and with that, you can do a lot of content - like doing against bosses, it leads to anything either its growth in the event you can do it. There's a very big room for scaling for the Druid for leveling. The developers have mentioned that some classes will have a different scaling, power spec system, and the Druid especially. Because of the potential to grow another level fast that comes with the Druid who is the future specialization of the Druid companions.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Farming Speed
1 - Nercomancer (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (S Tier)
3 - Rogue (B Tier)
4 - Barbarian (B Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
The second tier list of D4 class is for farming speed, this will focus on how fast the class and other skills can clear out mob Affiliates. When not looking to the bosses, we're looking for Elites to farm golden, rare items, and legendaries for the build to be established in the next part. For Barbarians, the Ret Bleeding build and Whirlwind build is not bad. The Rogues and Sorcerers do shine over here because of a lot of good enchantments for those two classes. And for the Necromancer, it is quite flexible, you have your armies, and cops explosion which deals tons of damage, if you do get Blood Mist plus cops explosion, everything just wipes right, so Necromancer's farming speed is very good in terms of AOE and single Target. Coming back to a Druid, it has flexibility because of the choices you have with your companions, and in the latest stage of the game the Druid is likely going to shine, so again this can go for anywhere from Tier C to Tier B for farming.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Ease of Build
1 - Nercomancer (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (S Tier)
3 - Rogue (B Tier)
4 - Barbarian (B Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
Coming over to the D4 class tier list for Ease of the Build, we focus on how easily you can get the build going. One of the things we look at the ease of the build is how many offensive codexes is available for the class and how many offensive counts you're looking for. For the Druid currently, there are 34 of them and currently, if you are playing the Druid, you are looking at about 7 of them, so the ratio is not that good. And because of that, the Druid is not getting that high over the ease of combination of your items. And there are a few limitations to the Druid build because the Earth Spells of the Druid have nerfed since Beta, so they don't have any special effects anymore.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Mobility
1 - Rogue (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (B Tier)
3 - Barbarian (B Tier)
4 - Nercomancer (C Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
In terms of Mobility, the Barbarian actually has a lot of variety of shops, leaps and charges which can be very good, but if you pick a lot of Mobility, you can't do ideal damage, so it is your choice of moving fast or you want to do a lot of damage or be more defensive. For the Rogue's case, it is by far the most mobile class, you can dash, shuttle stop, evade, go into the shadows, and get more movement speed. As for the Sorcerer, you tend to not have that much Mobility, you might go with a blink, but other than that you don't have any Ultra Mobility like the Rogue. For the Necromancer, most of your Mobility is coming from evade and this can only happen every few seconds, if you're lucky enough to get special pants or boosts, you have a double charge for the evade, so those classes are more durable but they're more slow comparison.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Fun Gameplay
1 - Barbarian (S Tier)
2 - Druid (A+ Tier)
3 - Sorcerer (A Tier)
4 - Rogue (A Tier)
5 - Nercomancer (A Tier)
This tier list is based on personal experience and personal opinion. Some players really enjoy Barbarians a lot in the Beta, but also especially have fun with the Druid. Though Druid is quite difficult and it's harder to craft items, the moment you make the difficult build work and the moment you make the challenging crafts work, it is so much more enjoyable, and this is why we are giving the Druid builds more enjoyment. Keep in mind the enjoyment of Druid can range from very low to very high.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Class Builds Variation
1 - Rogue (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (S Tier)
3 - Barbarian (A Tier)
4 - Nercomancer (A Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
For the Barbarians currently, we have the thorn build, Whirlwind build, and bleeding build, you can also go with the charge key with the Super Smash build, but those are not that highly variety in comparison to the Rogue and Sorcers. The Rogue can go into melee, traps, and range form; while the Sorc has all three elements. The Necromancer itself has a few limitations to the build, some skills are really good like the corpse explosion that you might want to perk into everything, but other skills maybe not be much. For the Druid, we have only discovered two really good builds in the Beta so far, so we are not ranking the variety of the Druid too high but in Beta, this will change.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for DPS
1 - Sorcerer (S Tier)
2 - Nercomancer (S Tier)
3 - Rogue (A Tier)
4 - Bararian (B Tier)
5 - Druid (B Tier)
In terms of offensive notes and damage, the Sorcerers are very powerful especially the Hydra ones with the legendaries, and this is the case for most other classes, so most of the classes have a high range of the scoring DPS. The Druids can go for anywhere from 5 to 8.5 or even higher DPS scores. The Necromancer on the other hand is likely going to be nerfed, so this is why you can go as low as 7.5 or as high as 9.5.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Hardcore/Defensive
1 - Necromancer (S Tier)
2 - Barbarian (A Tier)
3 - Druid (A Tier)
4 - Sorcerer (B Tier)
5 - Rogue (C Tier)
If you are planning to play hardcore, we really recommend trying the Barbarian or Necromancer, and we don't recommend trying the Druid right away with hardcore because you'll have a difficult time. If you cannot gear up for the hardcore class, you can try the Necromancer first and then get items for Barbarian or Druid. The Sorc is also not bad for Hardcore because you can have a constant shield with your ice armor and with a Flame Shield. As for the Rogue, it will be a little harder to play hardcore but it is still doable with the correct items.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for Multiplayer Synergies
1 - Druid (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (A Tier)
3 - Barbarian (A Tier)
4 - Rogue (A Tier)
5 - Necromancer (B Tier)
Now for multiplayer Synergy, it is quite nice with Barbarian because you have so many shells and you're the tank of the team. As for the Rogue, you're here to do damage right, if the team needs a melee class or if the team needs a range class you're at the effort. The Sorcerer is always good in the build because Sorcerer builds can burn enemies, stun enemies, and freeze enemies, so Sorcerer is always good on the team. And of course, Necromancers can use corpses created by other players at the moment in the game and they can do tremendous damage, they also can tank with Gollums and do damage with the summons. For the Druid, they need other players in multiplayer as they are excellent tanks and have a lot of controls, and some of the Druid legendaries can also provide increased control duration - a lot of classes actually benefit from vulnerability slow and also stunned enemies, what's more, the Druid can also immobilize enemies such a drought is the support and not enabler. The Druid is also the stunner and they have really good potential especially with the summons build, so this is why we give the Druid a higher rank over here.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for PvE Content Clear
1 - Necromancer (S Tier)
2 - Sorcerer (A Tier)
3 - Rogue (A Tier)
4 - Barbarian (B Tier)
5 - Druid (C Tier)
Now let's do a summary of the overall PVE content. We do feel the Druid is slower to clear the story, but in comparison to other classes, they're pretty similar.
Diablo 4 Class Tier List for PvP
1 - Sorcerer (S Tier)
2 - Rogue (S Tier)
3 - Nercomancer (A Tier)
4 - Druid (B Tier)
5 - Barbarian (B Tier)
In PvP, whether solo or group game, players can take advantage of you with crowd control and also with range damage, and if you try to chase them, they're not like monsters, they will know how to run away and catch you. This is why for the range class - the Rogue and Sorcerer definitely stand out for PvP. Rogue has so many poison slow and also in movement, the Sorc is just great overall with Shield, summons, and a lot of range attacks. As for the Necromancer, you have a few survivabilities but your Mobility is really low, so we do give a Necromancer a little lower committed additive classes simply because Necromancer only has to evade.
Now of course, because we only got to test the classes in beta, in the real launch games there might be very different like you might have a Berserk Barbarian with leap strike and you just stop everyone and kill everyone, so we get to see it once the game comes out and have a better tier list for you.
