Winter Wildcards is coming back to FIFA 23!
We are now in the month of December and Christmas is fastly approaching. So in this guide, we are going to be discussing what is going to be happening in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. What Is Winter Wildcards Promo & How Does It Work
Winter Wildcards is a mix match of different promos all in one. It's the replacement for the popular FUTMAS/FUT Freeze event, but features similar special player items, objectives and SBC's, as well as the possibility of position change player items in some instances. This brand new Winter Wildcards promo gives players new positions, upgraded weak foot and skill moves, boosted stats and more. Despite the fact that many fans were hoping for the return of FUTMAS, the FUT Winter Wildcard event promises to be a far more enjoyable event, with plenty of SBCs and objectives to complete for pack rewards.
FIFA 23 Winter Wildcard Start & End Date - FUT Promos Calendar

EA hasn’t announced yet, but according to leaker FUTZONEFIFA, FIFA 23 Winter Wildcards will begin on Friday, December 23, 2022 and expire on on 6 January 2023, so this is a 2-week promo. And a new promo FIFA Centurions will start as soon as FIFA Winter Wildcards concludes on January 6th, and last until January 17th.
This Friday, we are going to be getting World Cup team of the tournaments, that’s still in the World Cup promo. And the Christmas event would be the first promo after the World Cup season comes to a close, which would place it a week after Team of the Tournament.
FIFA 23 Winter Wildcards Promo SBC Squad
In FIFA 22, both of these squads would include 15 players each. All of these players had differing upgrades associated with them as well. If the same system is followed as we received in FIFA 22, these new cards will also see players move into completely new positions, opening up new squad-building opportunities.

FIFA 23 Winter Wildcard Swaps
As described on the EA website for Winter Wildcards for FIFA 22, “the Winter Wildcards campaign will have the opportunity to earn Wildcard Tokens”. Last year, there were 25 tokens available to collect. Perhaps more will be introduced to FIFA 23. These tokens will be redeemable for a variety of prizes, including Winter Wildcard players and packs!
Tokens were gained by completing specific SBCs and Objectives. It is a similar system to how the current World Cup Swaps event works!
FIFA 23 FUTMAS Event
With the news of the Winter Wildcards event coming in, many fans are wondering what will become of the annual Christmas event FUTMAS this year. Sadly, based on what we know, it appears that FIFA 23 will not feature a FUTMAS.
FIFA 23 Team of the Year Release Date
FIFA 23 TOTY is arguably one of FIFA’s biggest events, as it contains some of the best cards to ever feature in each year’s game. As this will be the last FIFA TOTY as we know it, it should be a special one. FIFA 23TOTY will start on January 10th, with the Attacker vote starting on January 20th and concluding on February 1st.
