Dragonflight Launch Day Guide
Step 1: Pre-Quests
If you've already been playing the pre-patch, then you'll have already been able to complete the small Quest chain before you set off to the dragon Isles, the ones where you basically summon to either Stormwind & Orgrimmar depending on your faction, the ones where you basically just collect your team to prepare to set off to the dragon elves, they only take about 10 minutes to complete, so don't worry if you haven't already done these, so once you completed those quests when launch time arrives were for you wherever you are in the world, you'll be able to go to the bolt master or the Zeppelin person and use the handy little timer above the NPC's head to know if still got time to change your underpants if you don't already have clean ones on, if not, do it now, so when you're on the boat, enjoy the ride and welcome to the dragon elves.
Step 2: Campaign Time
So first of all, you'll start off the campaign quests here, and you'll need to complete the campaign as you level up through Dragonflight, and it will take you through each of the new zones, and unlock most of the important stuff along the way, it's important to note that just doing the campaign will not get you to level 70, you will need to get some XP from other things along the way whether that be dungeons side quests bonus objectives or PVP or even crafting, for example, you'll be best off doing a mix of these activities as you level up, an aim to spend around two to three levels per zone as a bit of a rough template, to get into the final zone with aldrasso, she will need to be level 66 to get the campaign quest for that, so just bear that in mind if you're not already at level 66, just keep on questing in the Azure span.
Step 3: Enjoy Levelling
It is important to say at this point the relay is absolutely no rush to level insanely faster 70, we do have two weeks after launch day for anything important to open like Mythic Plus or the red or related PVP, so don't rush, just enjoy yourself and taking all the things Dragon House has to offer, there's plenty of interesting optional bonus content to do in the Dragon House, so just take your time level up, however, you want to explore the new zones, and practice Your Dragon riding along the way, with that said though if you do want to level up efficiently, keep the campaign as your main focus as you do need to do it to get everything unlocked, and maybe do one dungeon run per level, because they do give quite a nice chunk of XP, if the side quests available when you pick up a campaign quest and they're in the same area it will be worth doing those quests, but some side quests do tend to send you out of the way quite a bit, so you can save those till later on if you like.
Step 4: Efficiency
There are a few items or things you might want to prepare if you do want to level efficiently such as Goblin gliders, now these are usually really useful when leveling any new expansion due to the inability to fly at the start, so they're not going to be quite as useful in dragonflight, because we do have dragon riding, but they will still come in handy every now and then, so I'll keep in a few of those in your bags won't do any harm, also if you are playing in war mode, it is possible to knock enemy players off their flight amounts using one of the Dragon riding abilities, so if someone does this to you, if you've got a goblin glider, you'll save yourself from a Splat, if you're an engineer you can apply these to your clocks using the Tinker, but any non-engineers can bat these off the auction house and use them that way, Engineers can also will make use of the Nitro boosts Tinker to speed up running through caves and things a bit or to make sure you make it to that rare mob in time to get the tag, if you want to go real try hard, then you can use the food the bear Tata or even better the fried Bonefish which is the shadowlands version for a movement speed buff every time he'd land a killing blow, you could even take some enchanting scrolls with you into the Dragon House for any question with things like speed enchants on that you can apply to any new gear that you get as you level up, this is pretty try hard, so it's only more really beneficial if your question is a class with quite low Mobility, also generally for any player, it might be worth taking some regular consumables to buff your stats such as flasks portions of food, and if you have some lying around from shadowlands then you might as well use these while leveling either that or just sell them.
Useful Levelling Items:
-Goblin Gliders
-Nitro Boosts (Engineer Only)
-Enchant Scrolls (Stats or Speed)
-Speed Food-Bear Tartate or Fried Bonefish
-Buff Food/Flasks/Potions
Step 5: Replacing Gear
If you're wondering about gear when you're leveling up, don't worry about it too much, but regarding your legendaries, they won't work as soon as you get to the dragon Isles, and you will lose access to any benefits that came from your Covenant, so they'll only work now if you are in any shadowlands content, so as for replacing your gear, just do that as you see fit, there's no real need to hang onto your legendaries, for example, as gear you get from questing and leveling dungeons will replace them probably quite early on, if you're quite a well geared character coming out of shadowlands, and you'll have a nice easy time blasting through the first few zones, and you're probably going to only see upgrades to your gear as you get around level 66 or higher for anybody, that's coming into dragonflight quite on the geared what you might want to do is do the initial few campaign quests, and when you get to the first dungeon, do some dungeons get a couple of bits of gear from there, and that should help you out quite a bit when you go back to questing, so as you're exploring the dragon Isles, you'll quickly unlock the ability to discover Dragonair supplies from packs and chests left around the zones.
Step 6: Collect Supplies
Make sure to pick these up when you see them and start building up your supply, as there's a currency used for a lot of the rewards from the new factions that you'll be introduced to, and it's simply called Dragonair supplies, there's no need to go out of your way to unlock this as you'll get the ability to gather these supplies when you get to renownable 2 with the dragonscale expedition faction which is the first one that you will encounter as you get to the dragon elves, you'll get to round level 2 with these guys really easily just from doing some quests and side quests in the first closer on the waking shows, so keep an eye out for Reyes 2 as they also drop these supplies, and you can pretty much get them from doing any other activity in the dragon Isles as well things like World quests and dungeons.
Step 7: Get Riding Glyphs
So as far as Dragon riding goes, it's up to you if you want to go out and get all the glyphs as soon as you unlock dragon riding, and get your first dragon ride in Mount, and you could pick up all the flight paths as well along the way if you do decide to do this.
Step 8: Proffesions
So if you're interested in professions, it's definitely worth starting to work on them as soon as you get to the dragon Isles, you can actually get XP now from professions for the first craft of each new recipe that you learned, so the same as you come from gathering materials, but it's actually slightly better, so doing a bit of crafting on the side, can give you a nice little bump in XP every now, and then now quite handily ,there's some profession trainers right there as soon as you get to the first little zone in the dragon, now so you can quickly learn the things, there's no need to go to the city to learn your new dragon skills, and do bear in mind crafting is quite a lot more depth now in dragonfly and it will take you quite a lot longer to level up your professions to Max and be able to create the high quality items, so start working on this as soon as possible if you are interested in professions, so when you do eventually get to level 70, if season one hasn't started yet then the best gear, you can go for really is either from completing the base level mitted dungeons once each time or from crafting, it's going to take a long time and a lot of effort and materials before Crafters can really start making the high item level pieces, and some of the materials will be quite rare at the start of the expansion so bear that in mind, so as for other content to do at level 70 before season 1 starts, it's a good aim to complete the weekly and the bi-weekly quests that you can get from file Dragon, for example, the one that wants you to go out and get a certain amount of reputation with the Dragon House factions that gives you a nice little bonus for doing that, and the one in the waking shows where you Ally with either Wrathion or Sabellian, and complete quest for either of those guys to get the ball rolling with their reputations too, also check out the other events that are ongoing such as the hunts in the Ohn'Ahran Plains, the community suit make an event with the Tuskarr and the Azure span and the Sega Dragon, Keep for example in the waking Shores, it's also worth doing all the world quests that you can and clearing up any side quests that you missed on your leveling Journey for even more renowned and to unlock some of the sound activities such as the various types of fishing and the mini games like the rock climbing, so fear not when he gets level 70, if you do get there fairly quickly within the first couple of weeks, there will still be a lot for you to explore and discover, and then you could do things like even if you wanted to just keep doing the best level mythics and learning the new dungeons getting a feel for those or it'll be a really good time if you do level quite quickly to go and level up some alts, again, professions will take a lot of work, so I would gather a lot of materials if you can or just start working on Skilling to be crafting and specializing in which area you want to go into with that, either way, we highly recommend that you take the time to go out, and explore the dragon Isles unless you're going to start pushing really high Mythic plus keys or you're in a serious reigning Guild or want to aim for Gladiator ranking PVP, just enjoy yourself, see what the Dragon House has to offer, start working on your reputations with the new factions to unlock all their Rewards or begin leveling up your alt Army, whatever you want to do, but most importantly just enjoy yourself and have a great time.
