New World Brimstone Sands Patch Prep Guide | Jewelcrafting Leveling Guide

The brimstone sands update is going to be amazing in New World, but there are a few things on there that are also going to be a little frustrating, not right away, but long term, so we wanted to do was make a guide in an attempt to try to share some of this information so that with a little preparation over the coming weeks before it launches some of us might be more prepared and get more enjoyment from this DLC, this is part one, so let's get into it.

 

Gem Types and the Effect They Have on Jewelry

There are several different types of hearthstone gems in the game, and each has unique abilities, there are a total of 15 runes in their legendary form, there are five different types of runes, however, and three categories for each rune, the category simply change the perks associated with each rune, not what the rune does, so each of the five runes have a base ability associated with it, then there are three variants of the legendary, cunning, stalwart, and brutal that all have different perks depending on the rune.

Cunning Heartrune of Grasping Vines

Enfeebling Vines: Inflicts Weaken on successful hits, reducing the target’s damage by 20% for 8 seconds.

Leeching Vines: Heal for 20% of your damage done to rooted targets.

Stalwart Heartrune of Grasping Vines

Enfeebling Vines: Inflicts Weaken on successful hits, reducing the target’s damage by 20% for 8 seconds.

Resilient Vines: Gain Fortify on activation, increasing damage absorption by 20% but reducing outgoing damage by 20% for 5 seconds.

Brutal Heartrune of Grasping Vines

Enfeebling Vines: Inflicts Weaken on successful hits, reducing the target’s damage by 20% for 8 seconds.

Rending Vines: Inflicts Rend on successful hits, reducing the target’s damage absorption by 20% for 5 seconds bur also reducing your stamina regeneration by 50% for 5 seconds.

Prepping for Jewelcrafting Training

Greater Heartrune of Stoneform

Fortifying Form: Damage absorption is increased by 10% while active.

Hardened Form: Gain an additional 10% damage absorption for 5 seconds per hit taken. (+30% max)

Stalwart Heartrune of Stoneform

Fortifying Form: Damage absorption is increased by 10% while active.

Mending Form: Heal for 75% heartrune damage per second while active but outgoing damage is reduced by 20%.

Brutal Heartrune of Stoneform

Fortifying Form: Damage absorption is increased by 10% while active.

Unstable Form: Stoneform explodes when it expires or when you press the Heartgem Ability input again, dealing 200% heartrune damage within a 3m radius but its duration is reduced by 2 seconds.

Cunning Heartrune of Dark Ascent

Leeching Fall: Heal for 100% of the damage done.

Crippling Fall: Inflicts Slow on successful hits, reducing target movement speed by 30% for 4 seconds.

Stalwart Heartrune of Dark Ascent

Leeching Fall: Heal for 100% of the damage done.

Fortifying Fall: Gain Fortify on successful hits (3 hits max), increasing damage absorption by 10% but reducing outgoing damage by 10% for 5 seconds per hit.

Brutal Heartrune of Dark Ascent

Leeching Fall: Heal for 100% of the damage done.

Empowered Fall: Successful hits deal 150% heartrune damage but no longer stagger.

Cunning Heartrune of Cannon Blast

Burning Blast: Inflicts Burn on successful hits, dealing 10% heartrune damage per second for 5 seconds.

Penetrating Blast: Cannon ball passes through enemies and cannot be blocked.

Stalwart Heartrune of Cannon Blast

Burning Blast: Inflicts Burn on successful hits, dealing 10% heartrune damage per second for 5 seconds.

Concussive Blast: Cannon ball knocks enemies down but only deals 30% heartrune damage.

Brutal Heartrune of Cannon Blast

Burning Blast: Inflicts Burn on successful hits, dealing 10% heartrune damage per second for 5 seconds.

Explosive Blast: Cannon ball explodes on impact, dealing damage within a 3m radius but damage is reduced by 20%.

Cunning Heartrune of Detonate

Accelerating Charge: Movement speed is increased by 30% while charging.

Empowering Charge: Outgoing damage is increased by 15% while charging but explosion damage is reduced by 20%.

Stalwart Heartrune of Detonate

Accelerating Charge: Movement speed is increased by 30% while charging.

Leeching Explosion: Heal for 50% of the damage is reduced by 30%.

Brutal Heartrune of Detonate

Accelerating Charge: Movement speed is increased by 30% while charging.

Escalating Explosion: Explosion damage is increased by 30% but you take 15% more damage while charging.

New World Jewelcrafting Leveling 100 - 150

The first is the minor version, this one will be relatively easy, you will get them as drops from the associated last boss and expeditions, for the minor heart rune of canon blast, you will want to kill admiral black powder in the barnacles in black powder expedition, for the minor heart rune of dark descent, you will want to kill Isabella in the tempest heart, for the minor heart rune of grasping vines, you will, of course, want to kill Alluvium Marl The Caretaker in the garden of genesis, for the minor heart rune of detonate, you will want to kill the hero in any ad expedition that they are adding to the game, for the minor heart rune of the stone form you will want to of course kill charitis in the Lazarus instrumentality.

New World Jewelcrafting Leveling 150 – 200

You could easily save up the required material if you haven't already, and craft your desired miner rune, the very moment this patch goes live, being one of the first to possess this new ability giving you a huge leg up in progression in PVP and the new area. You will very soon want to begin upgrading your new rune, this is where being prepared well ahead of time will start to make a massive difference in your character's power, and progression to craft these major rune variants we'll take a relatively large amount of materials and gathering them when the time comes around will take a long time and be very expensive, however, if you start now which yes you can you will be ready to go on day one, so when you have the desired minor rune in your inventory a new recipe will appear in your stone cutting table much like how it works with artifacts or for trophies.
