D2R 2.5 Release Date, Ladder Season 2 Reset & Start Date | Diablo 2 Resurrected 2.5 Patch Schedule

D2R 2.5 PTR is here, when will the official patch go live in Diablo 2 Resurrected? In this guide, let's talk about the official release date of D2R 2.5 and the start date of the Ladder Season 2!

With the 2.5 Patch PTR going live, we finally got our hands on the new in-game content we'll be able to experience in Ladder Season 2, including Terror Zones. It's time to mark certain important days on your schedule, like when you can officially run terror zones in D2R and when will ladder season 2 start.

D2R 2.5 PTR Last Time & End Date

The 2.5 Patch PTR goes live on August 25, at 10:00 am PDT. If the route of the 2.4 PTR (first from March 2 until March 9, ) is followed, the test period will last 2 weeks, and we can expect the D2R 2.5 PTR to end on September 8th, at 10:00 am PDT.

UPDATE! As the testing of Terror Zone in the PTR deepened, and so many questions about this new content were discovered, Blizzard had to update the PTR on September 8 and extend the testing period. Therefore, we predict that it will take at least a week, so the end time of D2R 2.5 PTR is likely to be September 15th.

D2R 2.5 (Official) Release Date

After the 2.5 PTR is over, Blizzard will need time or a week to fix the issues found in testing, prepare the servers, submit the final builds on the 2.5 patches. So we can expect the D2R 2.5 Patch to be officially released in Diablo 2 Resurrected a week after the end of PTR, which is likely to be September 22nd, 2022!

D2R Ladder Season 2 PTR Release Time (Start & End Date)

Then we are guessing we will get the second half of this patch 2.5.1 with a second PTR for Ladder Season 2 items or runewords, and maybe some skill balance changes. Blizzard said previously that each ladder season will include new runewords or items, which would need to be tested before going live in Ladder. If so, the PTR of Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 2 is possible to set on September 22nd, 2022, after the Patch 2.5 release, and it will end on September 29th for running 1 week. 

D2R Ladder Season 1 End Date 

The end date of Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 1 is Friday, September 30, 2022, at 12:00 PM, Blizzard hasn't said anything otherwise, but is silently advertising the date on the XBOX page. We can't be 100% sure this time is accurate, but Blizzard follows the 2-week run time of Diablo 3 Season PTR on D2R, and a Ladder Reset at the end of September is quite possible.

UPDATE! As Blizzard announced, the D2R Ladder Season 2 will start a week or two after 2.5 patch release, and Season 1 will literally end the second we transit to S2, so we expect D2R Ladder Season 1 end date to be scheduled on September 30th, 2022, at 4:59:59pm Pacific Time. 

D2R Ladder Season 2 Start Date (Reset Date)

The transition from Season 1 to Season 2 will happen immediately. So at the same time as the end of Season 1, the D2R Ladder Reset will also happen, so Season 2 will also start on September 30, 2022, at at 5:00:00pm Pacific Time in Diablo 2 Resurrected!
