PoE 3.28 Challenge Rewards & Complete Guide (Mirage)

In the PoE 3.28 Mirage league, we will still be able to earn exclusive microtransaction rewards by completing 40 new challenges with spicy new mechanics. In this PoE 3.28 Challenge guide, we are going to list all rewards, then break down every challenge, offer practical complete strategies, and help you plan your path to 36 or even 40/40!

PoE 3.28 Challenge Rewards

In the Mirage league, you'll be able to earn pieces of the exclusive Orb Regalia cosmetic armour set by completing 40 new challenges, which you'll also be able to use in Path of Exile 2. Completing challenges also grants you pieces of this league's Totem Pole Hideout Decoration. Here's the full list of Challenge Rewards:

PoE 3.28 Challenge Rewards - Orb Regalia cosmetic armour set

Become a gilded monarch, encrusted with jewels and wearing both  the faces of the Regal Orb. The Helmet has three variations, so you can choose whether or not to display your regal mask. The Body Armour, Gloves, and Boots also have three variations.  Choose to either shine gold, emanate a royal magical blue, or a combination of both, as the blue shifts around on top of the layer of metallic gold. As always, these cosmetics do not affect your character's power or progression in any way.

Mirage Challenger Trophy

  • Mirage Challenger Trophy (19-40 Challenges / 1-8 Ruthless Challenges) Completing challenges also grants you pieces of this league's Totem Pol

    e Hideout Decoration. Each challenge you complete also adds to your Mirage Challenger Trophy Hideout decoration, further showing off your progress to friends and visitors.

PoE 3.28 Challenges & Complete Tips

Below, we go over all 40 challenges in PoE 3.28, laid out in a natural progression order. Each challenge comes with actionable tips and a heads-up on the pitfalls that tend to trip you up.

1. Beginner's Basics

(Very Easy, All required)

Complete each of the following tasks:

  • Use an Orb of Transmutation

  • Use an Orb of Alteration

  • Use an Orb of Augmentation

  • Use an Orb of Alchemy

How To Complete: Right-click the currency, then right-click any normal item (gear, flask, strongbox). Complete quickly in early campaign.


2. Mysterious Mirages

(Very Easy, All required, New Content)

Complete each of the following Mirage encounters.

  • Choose a Wish - Select one of the three options on interacting with the league's NPC

  • Enter a Mirage - Enter the portal created on the above interaction

  • Break the Astral Chain in a Mirage - Find a circle of three rare monsters around chains going into the sky and kill them

How To CompleteInteract with the league mechanic at your first opportunity (Act 1). Done in one or two Mirages.


3. Peddler's Produce I

(Very Easy, All required)

Complete vendor recipes to receive each of the following items. A vendor recipe is when you trade a specific combination of items to a vendor, not when you buy items from their purchase screen.

  • Any Mana or Life Flask - Three of a single type of Life or Mana Flask will upgrade into the next tier for this

  • Any Hybrid Flask - Vendor a Life FlaskMana Flask and an Orb of Fusing

  • Ruby, Topaz or Sapphire Ring - Vendor an Iron Ring and Any Skill Gem

  • Agate, Turquoise or Citrine Amulet - Vendor any two of Amber AmuletLapis Amulet and Jade Amulet alongside an Orb of Transmutation

4. Act Adversaries I

Defeat each of the following Act Bosses:

  • The Way Forward - Act 2 passive point quest, forget to go back to Act 1 to turn it in for 3 hours

  • Through Sacred Ground - Act 2 passive point quest, obtain the Golden Handjob

  • Victario's Secrets - Act 3 passive point quest, collect busts

  • An Indomitable Spirit - Act 4 passive point quest, save Deshret's spirit

How To Complete: All are passive point quests in campaign; look up quest locations if unclear.


6. Desecrated Djinn

(Very Easy, All required)

Complete each of the following Mirage encounters:

  • Choose Wishes (0/5)

  • Defeat Rare Monsters in Mirages (0/10)

  • Break the Astral Chain in Mirages (0/15)

7. Act Adversaries II

(Very Easy, All required)

Defeat each of the following Act Bosses.

8. Helpful Hideaways

(Very Easy, All required)

Visit each of the following Areas.

  • Aspirants' Plaza - Unlocked in Act 3 for ascending

  • Menagerie - Unlocked in Act 2 through interacting with EinharThe command /menagerie takes you there from safe zones

  • Mine Encampment - Unlocked in Act 4 through interacting with NikoThe command /delve takes you there from safe zones

  • Forbidden Sanctum - Unlocked in Act 10 through interacting with DiviniaThe command /sanctum takes you there from safe zones

  • Kingsmarch - Unlocked in the Epilogue through interacting with Johan in Kauri ShoresThe command /kingsmarch takes you there from safe zones

  • Rogue Harbour - Unlocked by using a Rogue's Marker any time after entering Act 6The command /heist takes you there from safe zones

How To CompleteRun through acts normally. Use /menagerie, /delve, /sanctum, /kingsmarch, /heist, /monastery from any town to teleport if unlocked.


9. Added Accessories

(Easy, Any 3 of 6)

Complete any three of the following League Mechanic encounters the specified number of times.

  • Defeat Monsters with Essence (0/30)

    • Atlas points can guarantee at least 1 monster each map

    • Essence Scarab adds 2 monsters up to a max of 10 while using five

    • Essence Scarab of Calcification converts all rare monsters in a map to be imprisoned

  • Open Strongboxes (0/30)

    • Atlas points can guarantee at least 1 strongbox each map

    • Ambush Scarab will add 4 to a map up to a max of 12 while using three

  • Activate Shrines (0/30)

    • Atlas points can guarantee at least 1 shrine a map

    • Domination Scarab adds 2 shrines to a map up to a max of 8 while using four

    • Domination Scarab of Apparitions adds 2 Apparition Shrines to a map

    • Domination Scarab of Evolution adds 1 Evolving Shrine up to a maximum of 2 while using two

  • Defeat Possessed Monsters (0/30)

    • Pairing this with Rogue Exiles is sensible as Exiled Will causes Rogue Exiles to be possessed

    • Atlas points can add at least 1 Tormented Spirit

    • Torment Scarab of Possession grants a fixed 25% chance for each rare in an area to be possessed up to a maximum of 75%

    • Torment Scarab adds 3 additional Tormented Sprits to an area

    • Do not take Speaker of the Dead if you want to complete this

    • This is an obvious skip because it's awkward compared to the rest

  • Defeat Rogue Exiles (0/30)

    • Atlas points can add 1 Rogue Exile and can cause them to appear in pairs or spawn extras with a map boss

    • Anarchy Scarab adds 4 Rogue Exiles** up to a maximum of 20 while using five

    • Anarchy Scarab of Partnership is a 50% chance for Rogue Exiles to appear in pairs

  • Defeat Rare Beyond Monsters (0/30)

    • Beyond Scarab and the Atlas can all enable Beyond monsters spawning

    • Atlas points can lower requirements for spawning monsters and Endless Tide makes it so you cannot spawn bosses (bosses stop further beyond monster spawns by default)

    • Beyond Scarab of Haemophilia and Beyond Scarab of the Invasion both make spawning Beyond monsters easier

How To CompleteUse Atlas passives or Scarabs for any 3 you prefer, e.g. Strongboxes + Shrines + Essences. Complete in yellow maps.


10. Atlas Additions

(Very Easy, Any 5 of 11)

Complete any five of the following League Mechanic encounters the specified number of times.

  • Complete Abysses (0/30) - You have to actually chase down the Abyss but you can push a lot of Abysses into a single map

  • Complete Expeditions (0/30) - Requires reading to avoid bricking encounters, truly not for the faint of heart

  • Complete Harvest Plots (0/100) - You will get multiple plots per harvest making this about equal to everything else

  • Complete Legion Encounters (0/30) - As many per map as you push onto it

  • Open Smuggler's Caches (0/30) - Very unobtrusive, simply click the caches as you see them while doing anything else

  • Pass through Mirrors of Delirium (0/30) - One a map, you can immediately end it because it's just passing through

  • Complete Ultimatum Waves (0/200) - You can get 10 to 13 waves per Ultimatum, this seems balanced around

  • Complete Blights (0/30) - One a map

  • Complete Rituals (0/100) - 3 or 4 per map

  • Complete Ore Deposit Encounters (0/30) - As many per map as you push onto it

  • Complete Unstable Breaches or Hives (0/30) - As many per map as you push onto it, one to five deterministically

How To CompleteUse Scarabs/Atlas Tree to spawn your preferred mechanics while mapping.


11. Master Missives

(Easy, Any 2 of 4)

Complete any two of the following Master Mission encounters in Tier 11 or higher Maps the specified number of times.

  • Niko Missions (0/30) - Tagging all Sulphite nodes in a map

  • Einhar Missions (0/30) - Capturing all Beasts in a map

  • Jun Missions (0/30) - Completing all Syndicate Encounters in a map

  • Alva Missions (0/30) - Completing all Incursions in a map

How To CompleteRun favourite Master missions in T11+ maps. Run their respective Scarabs if needed.


12. Sacred Sigils

(Easy, All required)

Choose Wishes with the following Djinn Sigils the specified number of times.

  • Sigil of Navira (0/50) - Blue choices. The icon is a Blue Water Jug

  • Sigil of Kelari (0/50) - White Choices. The icon is a White Dagger

  • Sigil of Ruzhan (0/50) - Red Choices. The icon is a Red Sword

How To CompleteIn Mirages, select each sigil when possible. Don't be afraid to run any wish - cumulative progress.


13. Cartographer's Courage

(Very Easy, All required)

  • Complete one rare map of every Tier (1 to 16).

How To CompleteIdentify and use an Orb of Alchemy/Transmute on maps at each level. Buy missing tiers if needed.


14. Crafting Craze

(Very Easy, Use 15 of 19 Currencies/etc)

  • E.g. Use: Transmutation, Augmentation, Alteration, Chance, Alchemy, Scouring, Fusing, Jeweller's, Chromatic, Annulment, Regal, Chaos, Exalted, Blessed, Divine, Sacred, Enkindling/Instilling, Regret, Unmaking (various amounts, e.g. 20/30/40).

How To CompleteUse currencies liberally to roll gear or bench craft. Most done naturally while mapping.


15. Maniacal Monsters

(Easy, 200)

Kill 200 Map Bosses in Rare maps (80%+ quantity).

How To CompleteJust map as normal; use more mods/juiced maps for more quantity.


16. Deadly Deeds

(Normal, Any 5 of 11)

Complete any five of the following encounters while the area level is 81 or higher if possible the specified number of times.

  • Abyssal Depths (0/5)

  • Logbooks with at least 10 Remnants active (0/5)

  • Tier 4 Harvest Seeds (0/5)

  • Domains of Timeless Conflict with at least 25 rewards (0/3)

  • Blueprints with 4 revealed wings (0/5)

  • Simulacrum Waves (0/60)

  • Complete Hive Fortresses or Defeat Breach Marshals (0/10)

  • Fully Completed Ultimatums (0/10)

  • Blighted or Blight Ravaged Maps (0/5)

  • All Rituals in Maps with at least one Blood-filled Vessel applied (0/10)

  • Claim rewards from Rare Maps successfully completed by your Atlas Runners (0/30)

How To CompletePick easiest for your playstyle/build. Heist/Expedition/Simulacrum/Blight often most efficient to trade for or self-run.


17. Empowered Encounters

(Normal, Any 4 of 11 in Mirages)

Complete e.g. 15 of Abyss, Expedition, Harvest, Legion, Smuggler's Caches, Delirium, Ultimatum, Blight, Ritual, Ore Deposits, Unstable Breaches/Hives inside Mirages.

How To CompleteForce your favorite league mechanic with Scarabs/Atlas Tree in Mirage-affected maps.


18. Achieve Ascension

(Easy, All required)

Complete all 4 Lab ascendancies; gain a Bloodline Class (from Bloodline encounter).

How To CompleteRun all labs (including Uber in endgame). For Bloodline, see next challenge for locations, mainly from special boss fights (Ultimatum, Atzoatl, Menagerie, etc.).


19. Potent Premonitions

(Normal, Any 3 of 4)

Turn in Div Cards for: Currency item (20), Gem (10), Two-Implicit Unique (3), Six-Link (2).

How To CompleteUse trade search for card turn-ins, or farm popular cards (The Hoarder, Emperor’s Luck, etc.). Most run Faustus the Fence in Act 9 if lazy.


20. Peddler's Produce II

(Easy, All required)

Vendor Recipes for: Unique Item (vendor 3 non-corrupted uniques), Orb of Fusing (vendor 6-link), Regal Orb (full rare set, ilvl 75+), Item with Influence (influenced gear + gems/flasks/etc).

How To CompleteSave cheap uniques, 6-link items, high ilvl rares as you map; check PoE Wiki: Vendor Recipes for details.


21. Lethal Leaders

(Normal, Any 6 of 8, Level 80+)

Kill six of: Uber Atziri, Lab Izaro (Gift/Tribute/Dedication), Abyssal Lich, Omnitect (T3 Apex Atzoatl), Heist Twins, Beyond Bosses, Expedition Bosses (Medved/etc), Black Knight/Admiral/Sasan (ore spawns/Kingsmarch).

How To CompleteBuy fragments/logbooks/blueprints for encounters; follow trade/party listings for rotas. Heist & Kingsmarch are most skippable.


22. Coveted Currency

(Normal, Any 7 of 11, New Content)

Use Mirage League crafts/currencies: Coins of Knowledge/Power/Skill/Restoration/Desecration, Volatile Vaal Orb, Sinistral/Dextral Catalyst, Crystallised Rancour, Essence of Desolation, Honoured/Sacred/Miraged Incubator, Refracting Fog (see list, use each 3-20 times).

How To CompleteUse crafted Mirage currency on gear. Focus on easier/cheaper ones.


23. Remarkable Realms

(All required, ~18 Unique Maps)

Run: Vaults of Atziri, Maelström of Chaos, Coward's Trial, Acton's Nightmare, Poorjoy's Asylum, Mao Kun, Oba's Cursed Trove, Olmec's Sanctum, Death and Taxes, Whakawairua Tuahu, Vinktar Square, Caer Blaidd, The Putrid Cloister, Hallowed Ground, Twilight Temple, Pillars of Arun, Doryani's Machinarium.

How To CompleteBuy or swap unique maps with others. Some can be crafted (Vinktar = vendor Agnerod staves). Consider pooling maps in public groups.


24. Succinct Scarabs

(Normal, Any 8 of 26, 30 times each on T14+ Rare Maps)

Use any 8 types (e.g. Abyss, Breach, Blight, Expedition, Beyond, Influence, Domination, etc) of Scarabs. Each 30 runs, progress stacks if using multiple Scarabs/map.

How To CompleteRun Scarab-juiced T14+ rare maps. Choose the cheapest/most available types. Buying them in bulk is common.


25. Glorious Gemcraft

(Normal, 3 of 4 tasks)

Corrupt a gem to lvl 21 or 23% quality; use 40 Gemcutter’s Prisms; reach 300% total socketed gem quality; level Exceptional Gem to 3.

How To CompleteVaal all level 20 or 20% quality gems; GCP vendor recipe every unused gem; use gear that boosts gem quality (Ashes of the Stars, Enhance, etc.); use Facetor’s or Lapidary Lens in Alva Temple for easy Exceptional gem exp.


26. Cross Contamination

(Normal, Any 4 of 6)

Defeat:

    1. Breach Marshal while Delirious

    2. Stygian Spire affected by Shrine

    3. Essence Monster that’s Possessed

    4. Blight Boss while Tempest active

    5. Delirium/Beyond Boss in Sacred Grove

    6. Unique Map Boss Possessed in Ritual

How To CompleteStack mechanics with Scarabs/Atlas passives. Some combos require chasing league-specific Scarabs (see tips in the provided list). Do the non-possession ones if you can.


27. Wishful Willing

(Easy, Any 13 of 20, New Content)

Select 13 different Mirage wishes.

How To CompleteWhen entering a Mirage, select new/unpicked wishes; no need to run the full Mirage or break the chain.


28. Seized Strength

(Normal, Any 7 of 11 bosses/encounters)

Defeat the listed bosses (Trialmaster [Ultimatum], King in Mists, Oshabi, Catarina, Aul, Olroth, Lycia, Farrul, Simulacrum, Tul/Esh in Breach Fortress, Saresh).

How To CompleteBuy or farm keys/fragments/invitations for these bosses. Simulacrum (all 15 waves) and Lycia (Forbidden Sanctum) are the hardest—skip if needed.


29. Atlas Astrolabes

(Normal, Any 4 of 11, 30 each in T14+ Rare maps affected by Astrolabe)

Run 30 maps in four different Astrolabe-created Atlas regions (Templar, Fruiting, Lightless, etc).

How To CompleteUse or buy Astrolabes, run maps in respective regions. Scarce, currency heavy. Buying carries or Astrolabes via trade is common.


30. Tyrannical Tiers

(Normal, 8,000 Map Tiers total)

Each map tier = 1 point (e.g. running T16 grants 16). Generic mapping grind.

How To CompleteJust map. No rarity/mod requirements. More tiers per clear for high maps.


31. Magnificent Memories

(Normal, 2,500% total quantity)

Complete rare Originator-Influenced maps until 2,500% Item Quantity is reached. Each juiced map gives ~50%+.

How To CompleteJuice T16.5 maps with mods, roll rare with high item quantity. ~50 maps if you're doing moderate juicing.


32. Sandswept Survivor

(Easy, New Content, 150 required)

Break 150 Astral Chains in Mirages inside T14+ rare maps with at least 100% quantity.

How To CompleteEngage with Mirage mechanic in high tier, well-rolled maps. Kill the 3 rare monsters around the chain in each Mirage.


33. Eldritch Evocation

(Normal, Any 2: Defeat 100 Witnessed Bosses or Activate 200 Eldritch altars in Astrolabe-affected maps)

Maven witnesses or Eldritch Altars.

How To CompleteFavor Altars (multiple per map). Use Maven's Beacon or run altars as you juice Astrolabe maps.


34. Vaulted Valuables

(Normal, Any 3 of 5 types, 5 each, New Content)

Collect Currency, Unique, Gem, Fragment, Map rewards (5 of any 3) from Memory Vaults (Astrolabe/Memory Chain maps).

How To CompleteComplete Astrolabe map chains and pick reward chests for desired type. RNG but happens naturally by chain running.


35. Instigative Invitations

(Normal, All required)

Complete all major invitations (Screaming, Incandescent, Elderslayers, Feared, Forgotten, Formed, Remembered, Twisted) with at least 4 mods.

How To CompleteGather fragments/bosses, roll invitations for 4 mods (reroll until easy mods). Run or join rotas for completion.


36. Nightmare Nemeses

(Hard, Any 4 of 5)

Complete any four of the following Nightmare Maps while they have at least 175% Item Quantity.

  • Abomination Map

  • Citadel Map

  • Fortress Map

  • Sanctuary Map

  • Ziggurat Map

How To CompleteThese are T17-turned-T16 maps. Use Scarabs of Stability to make harder rolling manageable. Use high quantity maps (reroll until over 175%).


37. Weeping Warlords Warfare

(Unknown Difficulty, Any 3 of 4, New Content)

Defeat Saresh, The Weeping Black:

  • Without being affected by Astral Chains

  • Without being affected by Festering Souls

  • Without being hit by Gangrenous Mass explosion

  • Without being hit by Charged Soul Slam

How To CompleteRun the Saresh bossfight via Black Barya. Learn mechanics or buy a carry. High DPS = fewer mechanics to deal with.


38. Tremendous Tempests

(Hard, 75 required)

Defeat Saresh, The Weeping Black in any three of the specified ways.

  • Without being affected by Astral Chains

  • Without being affected by Festering Souls

  • Without being hit by any Gangrenous Mass explosions

  • Without being hit by Charged Soul Slam

How To CompleteFarm or buy Astrolabes, roll maps for quantity, look for groups/rotas if buying is needed.


39. Uber Undertaking

(Hard, Any 5 of 10)

Defeat any five of the following Pinnacle Boss Encounters while the area is level 85:

  • Sirus, Awakener of Worlds

  • The Elder

  • The Maven

  • The Searing Exarch

  • The Eater of Worlds

  • High Templar Venarius

  • The Shaper

  • Incarnation of Dread

  • Incarnation of Fear

  • Incarnation of Neglect

How To Complete: Buy fragments/invitations for Uber versions. Requires strong build or boss carry. Maven/Shaper/Cortex generally easiest.


40. Gallant Grinding Goals

(Normal, Any 4 of 6, Heavy Grind)

Complete any four of these encounters the specified number of times.

  • Reach Level 100 - Buy five way runs. Coward's Trail, Omen of Amelioration stops you losing all your XP on dying, but only once per area (Something to keep in mind is that this is triggered regardless of if you can actually lose XP in an area do not take one into an invitation or uber boss, you will still lose your Omen despite no XP loss being possible). Abyss with a basic tree that grabs all nodes except Depths is decent and fairly safe for consistent XP per map. Breach stacking unstable breaches is likely pretty decent but time will tell. Rest in peace breachstones and beachheads.

  • Use the Divine Font in the Endgame Labyrinth (0/50) - Running Gift to the Goddess is six uses of the font which would make this eight runs total. Getting Darkshrines can allow for an additional usage of the font.

  • Complete Tier 16 Rare Maps with Scarabs (0/1,000) - It's 1,000 maps using scarabs. You probably already know if you are going to get this; T16.5s are still T16s.

  • Complete Shaper, Elder, Conqueror or Memory Guardian Maps with at least 100% Item Quantity (0/50) - Not terribly hard, Maven rotas are always profit and this is simply running around 13 of those from a nil state.

  • Defeat Rare monsters with at least 4 Modifiers while in Tier 16 Maps (0/250) - Rather easy realistically, Beasts, Essences, Breach and Nemesis can speed this up a lot

  • Defeat Map Bosses in Mirages of Rare Maps that are at least Tier 16 and have at least 80% Item Quantity (0/100) - Not sure how hard this will end up, but yo ucan presumably run fully miraged maps to force this.

How To CompletePick grind you are most likely to achieve. Recommendation: Divine Font, rare monsters, map bosses in Mirage, T16 maps with Scarabs. Level 100 and 1000 maps are biggest grinds.


General Tips & Strategy

  • Skip 4: You only need 36 for all rewards. Many players skip: Astrolabe grind, Uber bosses, T17s/Nightmare Nemeses, and boss carry grinds.

  • Scarabs & Atlas Passives: Use for mechanical challenges, buy cheap Scarabs in bulk.

  • Mirage Content: Engage with Mirages regularly in T14+ maps, pick all new wishes.

  • Use POE Trade: For boss fragments, unique maps, influenced gear, etc.

  • Public Rotas: Run bosses/invitations via party finders or community Discords.

  • Track Progress: Use /recheck_achievements in chat if in doubt.
